Then I would say the same thing that I said to Yvette. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine. If you find any post on the boards (including mine), offensive, then by all means, report it to the admin. I have kids of my own and there is nothing on this site that I would be ashamed or embarrassed to show them, including my own posts. I just spent the evening with them and their friends watching their favorite You Tube videos. As our beloved Stott would say, Holy Mother of Mercy! This board is a garden party compared to some of the stuff there.

Another post reported. What you choose to expose your own kids to and what other people choose to expose their kids to are obviously two entirely different things. You have no right to make that choice for other, more responsible parents. And YouTube is not this board. YouTube is not a family-oriented website and doesn't claim to be. Reported. I am hoping they delete this entire thread.

I don't recall any age given for membership. My 17 year old is on the board, although she doesn't want anyone to know that she's my daughter, for some reason. wink.gif And I know by the language and expressions of some other posts that there are teens and kids younger than that.

This is from the USA registration page:

OK, Heres the thing, all I wanted to originally know was if any of you knew if Ted had any new projects going on, movies TV, etc. I didnt mean to start world war 3 here ohmy.gif I think he is a wonderful actor and am sorry this thread took on a kind of mean streak. I guess it is "A Jungle Out There "

With nothing new on his imdb page and MONK currently in production, I guess Ted doesn't have anything new in the works ... Whoever edits his imdb page is usually prompt in getting his projects posted, so I'd say that's your best source for new projects.

Ted's page @ IMDB

Then again, there's always the possibility he's taking the summer off ... or participating in the Ojai Playwrights Conference ...

Of course, I should do a little google searching before I post ... there's a rumor that Ted has signed on to do the 4th Fast & the Furious that's due out in the Summer of 2009 ...

I just love Teds character, Captain Stottlmeyer ( and Ted, of course ) I found like the basic bio info but I was wondering if anyone might know of any new projects, movies , etc. he may be working on. Ted, Jason and Tony do such a great job, I can be laughing one minute and crying the next. Talk about an emotional roller coaster !! The chemistry between the guys is great !!
Thanks for any replies wink.gif

I really enjoy Ted Levine's character, I would love to see him in more Monk episodes, but would love to see something new as well. Also, as a person, what are his likes and dislikes as theater and tv goes? Is he based on the West or East coast?

Hi Melody! Welcome!

I was at a Museum of TV and Radio "seminar" for MONK a few years ago and Ted did say that when he watches TV, it's usually the Discover Channel. When the band Novillero appeared in the Rock Concert episode, Ted had lunch with the band one day and they blogged about it on their MySpace blog; Ted mentioned that one of his favorite songs is "HEROES" by David Bowie ...

Ted lives in Southern California (Ventura County) ... he and his family had llamas as pets at one time ... I thought that was kind of cool.

TL is a private person, so this is what I've been able to glean off the Ted Levine Yahoo Board and the web. His acting background was theatre and then he progressed to movies and television. He lives in California with his wife. I've also read that back in the day apparently he was quite the hippie guy!

There can never be too much Teddy!

LOL !! laugh.gif I could totally see a younger Ted with long hair and those rose colored granny glasses in his hippie threads with a peace symbol hanging around his neck. cool.gif Is he old enough to have been a hippie ? wasnt that era like the late 60's -70's (you can tell I wasnt a hippie, ha ) I think he is a couple of years younger than me ( I always thought he was older ) Thanks for giving me that image, it gave me a good laugh and I really needed one today.

He was born in 1957, so he's certainly of that (my) era. Based on what I've read at the Yahoo Board, he was quite the free wheeling hippie guy.

I never met a hippie with a pierced nipple! LOL! A pierced nipple in the 1970's only meant "swinger"
bi-sexual leather community. While it's not my thing I support his right to any lifestyle he chooses. I know Ted Levine likes his privacy. As long as no one puts an eye out. These things happen. "It puts the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again" I still like his acting anyway.

Hi Bubba here, I think Ted Levine is an awesome actor. That's cool that he is a private person. cool.gif There's too many actors who overuse the spotlight these days. Hope to get to see more of Ted this season.

I am going to have to watch SOTL again just to check out Teds role in it , saw it many years ago and bits of it off and on but not enough to remember it. I had a nightmare years ago that Hannibal was after me and was staring at me with that creepy look, I havent been able to watch it since and I think Anthony Hopkins is a wonderful actor but everytime I see him now I get the creeps sad.gif

I've never seen the entire movie either. Only parts of it here and there. I find movies like that very disturbing and then I can't stop thinking about them. sad.gif
At this point, I don't want to look at the captain and have 'BB' come to mind- in fact I think SOTL was just on a week or so ago. I remember VERY quickly changing the channel. Yikes! ohmy.gif

I will be very interested to read what you thought about Mad City. It was a snorefest for me. I was reclining on a sofa while viewing it and had to re-wind and restart the movie 3 or 4 times to finish it because I dozed off. Ted Levine plays yet another "large and in charge" cop outside a musuem that a recently fired security guard (John Travolta) in trying to regain his job is holding children hostage while a overly competitive career minded investigative reporter Dustin Hoffman wrestles with his limited concience inside. When John Traolta finally blows himself up at the end my only concern was for the museum artifacts and why he waited so long. It's been a couple of years since I suffered thru this movie and I can't remember if Ted Levine wears a toupee in this one but John Travolta definitely does. I hope you enjoyed it more than I did.

Oh damn! I think I saw this movie! rofl. I hate John Travolta. Tony already made me sit through one of his movies with Civil Action, and now Ted's going to drag me kicking and screaming into this one. lol. I'm thinking Ted's gotta be bit-parting in this one too because I don't remember seeing him in it at all. I don't remember hating it but the simple fact I have only a vague recollection of seeing it at all, I guess I didn't love it either. Oh well. I should have it by Monday or Tuesday. I'll post my verdict. rofl. Thanx for posting yours.

Hi

I donīt know if you mantioned this already, sorry if you did, but Ted Levine is fantastically playing the disgusting General "Bloodbath" McGrath in the great Wild Wild West, and also the interesting character General Russel Woodman in the equally interesting movie Evolution. In this last movie, ted appears bald, withou any cap or anything covering his head. I do not remember he appearing at the big screen like this before.

I was just about to post and reccomend this movie! He doesn't play a really nice or 'good' guy but the movie is really funny. And if you get the DVD, watch it with the commentary running, David Duchovney mentions that he kept looking at Ted and couldn't quite place where he knew him from, but when Ted opened his mouth, he scared the crap out of him. biggrin.gif Or something to that affect.
yvette88
My son subjected me to Evolution. lol. It's not my favorite movie but I did remember wishing someone would punch Ted's character in the mouth. blink.gif I did recognize him in that movie though, and it's one of his better ones.

Wild Wild West
is a favorite of mine and I think it didn't catch on because the younger viewers that went to see Will Smith just weren't old enough to remember the TV show. They just didn't get it. I remember walking out of the movie theater and hearing some guy behind me say "What the hell was that?? They didn't have all that stuff back in those days." Well, no, they didn't. But Wild Wild West the TV show wasn't Bonanza or Gunsmoke or Big Valley--that was their hook, all those gadgets.

Wild Wild West the TV show was a hit but not on the scale of those other shows. To do a remake on an old TV show, you better pick one that most people remember or know. A lot of people thought it was just another western. They did a very good job on that movie, in my opinion. If you haven't seen it, catch it. If you have the opportunity to catch an episode or two of the old TV series, try to see it before you see the movie. Then much of what's in the movie will make sense to you. I had no idea that was Ted with all that makeup on--my son picked him out by his voice. I almost brit a shick. rofl.

Added note: Keep in mind we saw Evolution years ago when it first came out, yet my son didn't see SOTL until this year. He didn't know Ted from that movie. Once my son sees an actor in anything, he remembers their voice, uncannily so, and can pick them out on that alone in every other movie he sees, regardless of makeup. It's started many a fight in our home and the little bugger wins every time. If he's never seen an actor but only heard them do a cartoon voiceover, same thing. Drives me up a wall.
