There's a new episode out on Showfax called "Retro"

Here is the rundown on Retro:

Episode opens with a cabbie bringing a sick baby to the firehouse claiming some lady left the baby in the cab. Elliot and Morales try to view the cab camera to determine who left the baby, but come up empty handed. The cabbie explains that he turned the camera off to get some under the table fares because expenses were getting so high. Elliot and Olivia are called to see Melinda. When they get to the morgue Melinda tells them the baby is alive is very sick. Melinda runs the DNA on Baby Doe and finds out her mother is in Rikers, so Elliot goes to visit her. She explains that there is no record of her being the birth mom because she had her at home and didn't want child services taking the baby away. She tells Elliot that she left the baby with her downstairs neighbor. Elliot and Olivia go to visit the lady who Joanne (the baby mom) left Antonia (the baby) with and find out that it is the wife of the cabbie. Through the interrogation of the cabbie and wife, Elliot and Olivia are turned to a doctor (Hutton) who believes in natural cures for HIV and AIDS. There is a cute exchange here between Olivia and the Dr about the "suggestions" he provided to the cabbie and wife. The doctor states that he instructed them to give the baby yogurt and then to bring her back for more "therapy" and Olivia says "Like what, pudding?" (cute).

There are some details missing, but best I can guess is this leads to another story line of a woman named Susan who has AIDS and is part of an AIDS Denialist Movement. She caught the disease when on safari in Africa, had an automobile accident, and needed a blood transfusion. Susan passed the virus on to her baby believing that HIV does not make you sick and the baby dies. We learn this from a co-worker of Susan's who she passed the virus on to also. She also has a son named Tommy (ok, how many times can they use the name Tommy on SVU?) who was on the Safari with her. I guess they go after Susan and Hutton for allowing the baby to get sick and die.

From what I can tell it looks like Elliot is the one who becomes personally involved as he helps Tommy deal with his situation. I'm guessing that Tommy some how assaults Elliot out of rage and he presses charges, but to only get Tommy to get tested for HIV. When that fails he asks Kim to drop the charges and she does. Elliot tells him, though he got him off, he still owes him for the busted ribs, so I guess he went at him pretty good. Elliot takes Tommy to visit a kid in the hospital fighting brain cancer, when Tommy questions him, he says that due to his parents religious beliefs that they would not get him help when he told them he was sick. It took him losing his sight and asking a friend to take him to the hospital, where he found out he had cancer. His parents were mad at him because he was "dissing God". His grandma told him though that God would not have provided Doctors and cures if it was not meant to help people, this gets Tommy thinking. In the end Tommy gets tested, only to find out he is positive.

To me this looks like a good standard SVU episode. A lot of character involvement.

I had to laugh when I read this. It just goes to show TPTB aren't creative with names, IMHO. It surprises me that the name Mike/Michael doesn't show up more since it was the number 1 baby boy name for like 20 years straight starting in the late 50's (I found this out 5 years ago trying to come up with a name for my son!)

And I can hardly wait to see Trevor. I think he's the hottest guy on SVU, except for CM, of course.

Well here's the reasons why I think they'll go bipolar.

First- bipolar is a completely functional mental disorder. Elliot would not have to take care of his mother. She'd just be annoying to be around. The biggest issue with BiPolar, is that the person makes irrational decisions and tends to compulsively do something to fill the void that they have when their mind is unbalanced. The three people that I know that have this disorder- buy things. A lot of things. They are in a lot of debut and they usually have a hard time keeping a relationship, because they are impossible to please. They usually exaggerate situations and reactions. When they aren't on meds or dealing with it in a healthy way that is. My one friend goes to acupuncture and therapy. If she misses her secissions, you know it! I'm sure if they did this, Elliot's mom would have it under control by this point in her life. But I have to say, even though my friends have it under control, I still have a hard time hanging out with them. They can be very selfish. Embarrassing in public. You're always afraid to disagree with them, for fear they will slit their wrists, and they never have money. SO- I think it would be fairly easy for Elliot to have stayed distant and to have never brought up the disease. A lot of people don't even think it's a disease, but just a bad personality. (I don't, but some do.) I can see Elliot being torn on the opinion of this disease.


Second reason why I think they will make this eppy about BiPolars-----Britney Spears! That and it's a disorder that people don't take very seriously, including the people who have it. So it's a perfect way for them to use headlines and educate people on BiPolars. Seems right up their alley.

The name Michael started slipping in the 80s when Zachary, Dylan Jacob, and Joshua started becoming more popular. Lately, it's been Ethan and Aiden.

I re read Scar's post about Bi-Polar, and I have to disagree with her first line. Bi Polar is only manageable with the right diagnosis and meds, and only if the person takes their meds. If you haven't read it, Danielle Steel wrote about her son's ordeal with the disease in His Shining Bright Light, and it was very heart breaking. She traveled everywhere to get that boy some help to no avail; eventually, he killed himself. One of her points in the book was: If she, a famous author with resources, couldn't get adequate help for her son less than two decades ago, she could only imagine how difficult it is/was for those who did not. If I recall correctly, she spent many years of his young life trying to figure out what was wrong with him.

I don't think it was life threatening. Olivia was just being a smart A$ with that remark of "Is he going to live." I don't think Kathy will make an appearance in this episode. At least she doesn't appear in any of the sides for this episode.

Um... I'm kinda shady. I'm off and on. When Dean came around, yes, I wanted them together. However, that may have been because I wanted Olivia to have somebody... anybody... at the time. Plus, they were both hot and had chemistry. After reading spoilers about a "compromising position"... I jumped on the EO ship again. It's just hard to be a strong EO supporter all the time when you got SOOOME people :: ahem Kathy:: screwing things up and making any possibility of EO seem.... not possible. I'm not an EO shipper 100% of the time... but I'm a KE shipper like never. 'Can't stand Kathy, never will... but I won't get too deep into that (I'll explain my reasons in the EO thread). Congrats to those who were strong enough to remain EO the whole time!

I know how it is, I jumped ship for a whole day(felt like hell) and I realized it pained me more not to ship than too ship, because I'm so passionate about it. It is hard to ship though, it's like the more you ship the more it feels like TPTB kicks you in the face. I would feel discouraged some days and I would get pm's from uncommondissent, and let me tell you, she has a way to make a death row prisoners feel better LOL and really boosted my confidence. But it's cool, we all do what's best for us. Glad your back on ship with us right now though, I hope nothing happens that changes that. LOL
