My parents always told me that if I ever wound up in jail to get comfortable because they will not bail me out. I didn't want to sit in jail, so I did nothing to get myself there...If Kathleen did, then I hope she goes to jail...
LOL, but hey it worked did it not lol
From the Tv.com spoilers, Kathleen doesn't go to jail when she pleads out she has to go on medication and receive psych treatment, so basically she is getting her needed help. I'm just curious though as to Stabler's mom's dementia and her treatment ( I can't say I'm not looking forward to seeing her, and Eli I love babies)

I think Kathy just wants the best for Kathleen- maybe she knows more about the condition then we realize? It kinda reminds me of Casey allowing to have Parcil in Blinded to be committed rather then in lock-up and everyone was mad at her for doing so but given her history with the mentally ill of her fiance Charlie and how he died, she did it for the right reasons. Kathy is being protective towards her daughter, to take care of her herself as she is a mother, she has those protective motherly instincts. We all react differently, some of us do things first in reaction and then realize it later. I wouldn't want my baby to be in jail, but I wouldn't want to have her terrorizing the neighborhood either. I can see where both Kathy and Elliot are coming from however it would've been great that Elliot would let Kathy in on his plans.
So far I don't think this episode is being film, just being cast as it's already on Showfax calling for auditions. Anything can be changed, rewritten between now to when it's being filmed. Last minute changes can even happen in the editing room!

I do agree on that, and your right since Kathy is around Kathleen all the time and Elliot works he doesn't spend as much time with her, so he may think she's causing trouble but Kathy may know she's mentally Ill, I just wished they could've gotten her help before it resulted to this mess.

Kathy could have been in denial, knowing but pretended it's not there or she knew it was there and hoped it was just a phase Kathleen needed to go through to set herself straight.

1) who said he was, Elliot isn't that kind of man
2) I think you mistake the title this isn't the E/k thread, the state of their marriage, right now has nothing to do with spoilers

I can't really blame Kathy for being upset. I know Elliot wanted to get Kathleen help but he should have told them what he was planning on doing. I think he returned the neclace after seeing his mother. Seeing her and knowing her mental condition helped him to make that choice, he didn't want Kathleen to end up like her, so he just acted without thinking about how the others might feel. But Kathy and Kathleen's lawyer should have been involved with that choice, but I don't think he stoped to think about anything else except getting Kathleen on medication. And from what I read Kathleen's moved out and into a dorm with her best friend (they don't get along now). I think she was alright until she moved out of the house, then she started to change, drugs, not going to class and sex with guys she just picked up and didn't know.

Then why not say anything to Elliot when supervision could have helped? I mean, she is with Kathleen more then Elliot is. Granted Kathleen is considered an adult but look at Britney Spears. Her dad took charge when her mother wouldn't. I think this is about the same thing, at least it sounds a lot like it. Taken right from the headlines anyone? LOL!

what think, why kathlee is having all these problems, i think is because elliot and kathy went through the whole divorce thing, so that probably caused all this, what we know of, she was fine before that

Then why aren't the other kids acting up? I think it's more of a psychotic break or somewhere along those lines. It's the same with Britney Spears. People thought she to had lost control of herself and her father took over. Elliot did the only thing he could think of to save his daughter, his career and possibly even his family. The only way Kathleen could get help was to get caught. It's called 'rock bottom.'

Agreed, as I know this first hand too. And Irish, that sooooooo blows that you had to start all over again. Weren't you in the highest ranking of membership on this board?!?! That sucks. I'm sorry!
I am a little confused. Do these people press charges b/c Elliot returns the necklace after putting two and two together w/ the last name? Or do they press charges b/c some naked coked out skank broke in their house to take a shower?
And Olivia requests this as an SVU case? How would she even know that Kathleen was involved in this? Did someone put out and APB on a 19 year blonde girl? Would she automatically assume that the girl might be one of Elliot's daughters? I'm rereading these spoilers, and trying to decipher how everyone feels about them, and I think I am getting confused!
My biggest concern for this episode is why it even needs to be an episode at all. The only thing that comes to mind is that the writers want to make it up to Elliot after having devoted 2 craptacular episodes to Olivia's "Dear Abby" family drama. I LOVE seeing Elliot w/ his family, but I strongly dislike Kathleen. I knew we might get something about one of his family members having mental health issues based on that TV Guide article, but a whole episode for Kathleen? Really? It's unfortunate, but there are so many stories out there that the writers could "rip from the headlines," this just seems to be kind of a waste.
While I am seriously disappointed w/ this storyline, nevertheless, I will watch the episode.

It's better then doing nothing. That's why I don't feel that Elliot did the wrong thing in turning Kathleen in. He took action, unlike Kathy who took none.

Guess who Mama Stabler is!! It's Ellen Burstyn!!
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2008/08/oscar-winner-el.htmlIn last week's Ask Ausiello, Law & Order: SVU exec producer Neal Baer teased that we would be "meeting someone in [Stabler's] life who we haven't met before" early in the season.
Well, consider this mystery solved: That someone is none other than Ellen Burstyn! Sources confirm that the Oscar winner has been tapped to play Stabler's never-before-seen mom.
What brings Mama Stabler to town after all these years? I suspect if might have something to do with a (SPOILER ALERT) soon-to-be-revealed bombshell concerning her daughter-in-law (and Stabler's wife) Kathy. But that's just me speculating.
What do you think prompts the visit from mum? Any theories as to what Kathy's hiding? Thoughts about Burstyn going toe-to-toe with TV son Chris Meloni? Comment away!
