I actually think the spoiler thread is a good idea. It should be totally different from the actual episode thread. This thread should be for spoilers and speculations before the episode airs, and the actual episode thread can be there for the discussion and critiques after the episode has aired. It can work if everyone posts accordingly, and it might keep the episode threads from being bogged down with speculation weeks before the actual air date. Just a thought. But seeing as how this site does not have a regular administrator or moderator, it will be hard to keep people from posting the wrong information in the wrong threads. So I understand both sides.

How can it be totally different from the episode threads if the spoilers are on the episodes? But there is this thing called freedom. If anyone wishes to post multiple threads then they are free to do so. Just be warned that some will state their distate towards it and the admin may delet it. I never ment to diswayed SL3UTH from creating and having fun. After all that's what this board is about and sometimes that aspect gets overlooked. I do promise to try harder at being fun and not being so uptight. LOL! Blame it all on school and stress. Yeah that's good.

Like I said, it would take a full-time administrator to make sure people post the correct information in the correct threads and transfer any spoilers to the spoiler thread only. Other sites keep their spoilers and episode discussions separate and it works just fine. So it can be done. But it will not work here because there is no one who checks the site regularly to keep the threads organized. That's why it's a mess.

And that's why people like Irisheyes and me try and help inform people so the board does stay organized. But...others seem to like this thread so please...carry on.

I like the idea for this thread. It's not going to work so well now because there is only one episode left in season 9 and and spoiler drought. Maybe it'll have better luck when season 10's production rolls around. People complain about episode threads starting weeks in advance so this thread should remedy that and keep the spoilers in one spot so people know not to look if they don't like it. Episode threads get bogged down with lots of speculation (Paternity) when they are started too soon with only a little bit of info.

I'm not being snarky, but if you don't like this thread why continue to post? idk I don't think it's a big deal. These boards operate like natural selection. If it's not meant to be it'll die.

From TV Guide magazine June 2-8 issue:

Why did Chester and Casey leave Law and Order: SVU? Is Fin on his way out too?

Executive producer Neal Baer says Adam Beach had to leave for budgetary reasons. But he's a gifted actor and he gave a truly tragic performance in the finale. We did not fire Diane Neal. She wanted to do other things. We'll miss her. Our new ADA will be different from both Casey and Alexandra Cabot. She's getting a divorce and wants to work with real people after crunching numbers in the federal Office on Violence Against Women. As for Fin, he and Stabler aren't getting along, so he asked for a transfer. You have to wait until the show returns this fall to find out whether his transfer goes through.

Well at least the new ADA will have experience with women who've been victims of violence. She might not have as rough of a start as Casey did. I'm sure they'll be announcing the identity of the new actress within the next few weeks. It will be interesting to see how the character interacts with Benson and Stabler.

I'm a little pissed about this new ADA. I'm hoping that the new ADA will just be a part time character and that Alex comes back for the final EO year.

I'm trying to remain optimistic. And besides, I'm not gonna believe that it's the last EO year until Mariska and/or Chris announce that they haven't renewed their contracts. I'm gonna try to remain optimistic, and watch the season with the mindset that it isn't over. I think that would put a damper on the show.

I'm trying to be like that to because I would keep reminding myself that "this is the last first episode" or "this is the last new episode ever"...and that would stink...and not make the show as interesting.

The thing about ending shows is that it's better if it's planned ahead of time. Usually, creators, writers, etc. plan their shows' plot and character development a year in advance. Well, at least, it was like that in some of the shows I watched. They got cancelled somewhat prematurely, but not so early that the ending seems so abrupt. But as a viewer, while it's better to stay optimistic, I like to keep in mind that after a certain period of time, the show's bound to end. It's always better if they quit gracefully, than to overstay their welcome.

Since this is Law&Order, there's always the chance that it'll follow in the mothership's footsteps in continuing the show without any of its original cast members.

Definitely.

Here's a new scoop for S10: http://www.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/deta...01-895ec3da947e

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Boss Neal Baer Talks Season 10

Earlier this afternoon I hit a Hollywood Radio & Television Society Newsmaker Luncheon Series on health care and medical insurance issues that was keynoted by the exceptional Sally Field and featured three very excellent TV bosses talking about health care issues on and around their shows: ER's John Wells, Scrubs' Bill Lawrence and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit's Dr. Neal Baer.

More from Wells and Lawrence later, but for now I wanted to share the season-10 dish spilled by Baer on his show, which just so happens to the best-rated program on all of NBC, and Baer's take on how a crime show can make a positive impact on the public health.

Read on to find out about a major S10 arc for one of the two characters pictured above...
Neal Baer

Secret Humanitarian Agenda: SVU show runner Neal Baer has a real life medical degree and is a licensed pediatrician, so he makes a point to stealthily include medical topics and health education in the show. He told me, "Because I'm a physician, I think medically. So when I came on SVU in 2000, the first thing I did was hire Tamara Tunie and B.D. Wong as doctors: a pathologist and a psychiatrist. It became a much more medically oriented show." (Does anyone else remember the episode where Tunie's character explained on the stand how adolescent alcohol abuse actually Swiss-cheeses your brain? I'm still a little freaked out!)

Topics of Note: The subject of the luncheon was the health care crisis at large (see DividedWeFail.com for more on the topics discussed), but Baer tends to keep the show more specific. He said, "We're doing one this season about HIV deniers. There's a group of people in the country who deny that HIV exists." Wasn't Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss' pediatrician dad Dr. Paul Fleiss involved in something related to that? "I don't believe he's a denier, but he took care of a kid, he didn't know the kid had AIDS, because the mother didn't believe that HIV caused AIDS. So we're always looking for medical topics—[HIV deniers], transplantation awareness, or we did one on a genetic disease called Williams syndrome last year. We're always looking to tie the medicine in with the crime. It does work, because so much of our show is psychological."

Speaking of Psychology: You know how Elliot Stabler hates shrinks? Well, that's gonna be an issue this season, because Baer told me that he's planning something in that area that involves Stabler's character. According to Baer, "[We're working on] a major storyline for Chris Meloni—a mental-health issue—it'll be very big for our show." Does it involve his mental health? "Someone else's." His wife's? Or maybe one of the kids? "Can't say yet." Damn!

Character Shuffle: FWIW, other than the new ADA—whom they have not hired—there are no new characters expected for season 10.

Who Said TV Isn't Educational? Keep tuning in to SVU to have a little knowledge subtly stuffed into your brain. According to Baer, mixing in public-health info with a little whodunit works to get the message across. He said, "We know we have made a huge impact, because we've done studies. We did a study when I was on ER that looked at what people learned from the show. We did a pretest and posttest on human papilloma virus and cervical cancer. Nine percent knew before the showed aired that HPV caused cervical cancer, after the show, 30 percent. And we didn't tell them, 'watch the show to learn that.' "

As Johnny Drama would say...VICTOOORRRY!

Sorry, I didn't see the thread for that link. The purpose of this thread is to compile all spoilers, information, etc. for episodes ahead of time. It's not limited to just one link. This thread was not started just for the sole purpose of posting that one article.

I don't get why people would rather start new threads for every little piece of info. instead of putting them all in one place. See, this thread was started way before that article existed. And people consider this one spam?

That is exactly what this svu forum used to prevent- a new thread for every article, information, etc. I guess the operative is "used," as in past tense. For the nth time, the purpose of this thread is to organize and compile all those tidbits in one thread. wink.gif

Yes, it's back. This thread, that is. wink.gif Anyway, I just checked on showfax.com, and they have an episode listed as "Lunacy." From the list of roles they're casting for the ep., it looks as if they're replacing the actor who plays Dickie Stabler (Sorry, dob4l!). It makes me wonder why. Then again, they also replaced the actress who used to play Kathleen. Also, the ADA role still appears to be up in the air.

That's about it. Have a great summer everyone!

Its ok, I think its because the movie he's doing/done. But hopefully this new Dickie is cute.

They are looking to replace Dickie?!?! Sad times.....

"Lunacy," huh? Do we suppose this ep will have to do w/ the mental health issues in Elliot's family? And if they are to replace Dickie, do we suppose that he will be the one w/ the issues? Another sad times for this, man. I was seriously hoping that this would have been an interesting storyline for Elizabeth...Oh well.

They start filming in July sometime, no? We will probably get some new spoilers then?

Ok, I will share here then.

Dickie is now 14 years old and he is involved somewhat in this storyline.

The man that he is named after, Dick Oswald, re-appears. An old marine buddy/hero/idol of Elliott's who's now a NASA astronaut. And when a woman in NASA is murdered, he's there to help.

At one point there is a conversation between Dick and Elliott and we learn Dick has been divorced four times. Dick asks Elliott about him and Olivia and Elliott replies that he's married to which Dick says that's never stopped him (Dick). Hence the four divorces.

There's a shooting in the Squad room between suspects while Dickie is there, but he's okay.

Dickie is obsessed with being an astronaut/flying jets and stuff (just like Elliott was as a kid) and there is a conversation between him and Elliott where Elliott reveals that he had a chance at being a fighter pilot but he gave it up "for his family" and Dickie puts two and two together. He got Kathy pregnant and needed a safer job.

Dick asks Olivia out, but I don't know what her answer is, I assume she agrees because of what happens next. -> Elliott goes to visit Dick at his hotel room and he's um "busy". Elliott pushes into the room to see a woman on the bed under the sheets and for a second thinks it might be Olivia. But it's not! Elliott's a little peeved with him for being such a douchebag (this is his hero). The woman leaves and there's an awkward silence. Dick says that he's sorry for asking Olivia out without checking with him first. Elliott has no clue. Dick says that if Elliott isn't going to make a move than he will. Elliott thinks for a minute and realizes that he's no good for Olivia (four divorces, one-night stands, some strange woman in his hotel room) and tells him that dinner is off, to which Dick says that's for her to decide. I don't know what else happens from there.

Also, Munch and Fin are together again.
mysteryrose
Okay, I just found another little piece to this.

Dick asks Olivia something (I'm not sure what) to which Olivia replies I'd love to, should I call Elliott to join us? and Dick says I think me and you can handle it, meet you at the hotel at eight. And they both turn away smiling to themselves.

By the ordering of the scenes, this happens first, near the end of the episode. Olivia agrees to meet Dick at the hotel and then Elliott is the one that shows up. I am just guessing that they are supposed to meet for something business related Olivia can't make it and calls Elliott to meet him instead. After the exchange between Elliott and Dick at the hotel, Dick gets dressed in his marine corps dress blues.

Me thinks that Liv knows that El needs to be involved in whatever Dickie wants to discuss, and she calls El and ask him to meet his son instead. If true, very smart move on Liv's part... Agreeing to meet Dickie at a hotel? No way... El would be pissed - hell, any parent would...

It's not Dickie Stabler that he's meeting. It's Dick Oswald, his marine buddy and the one that asked Olivia out. Olivia is supposed to meet him, but Elliott shows up instead.
