Again.... that is very strange.
There is no way that Ross would immediatly know Alex's address off the top of her head. Especially on the first case.
I think he'd have to memorize them all eventually... but right away. That's strange.
OK, I'm gonna chime in on this one.
I was freaked out in Lady's Man when I saw Alex's picture of her and Joe on their wedding day on her dresser. I was like, it's OK to have a picture out, but in your
bedroom after 10 years? Can't bring any boyfriends back home without them running for the hills over her "unresolved issues". Somebody (TJara?) mentioned that it was just "artistic license"--they stuck the picture there for time purposes and effect--right over her lingerie drawer. In Alex's reality, the picture isn't actually on her dresser in her bedroom.
Same thing with Ross knowing the address in Blind Spot. Before the kidnapping happens, a lot of back-and-forth is going on between "Ross the boss" and Goren.
"What's Declan doing here? Get him out of my unit."
"He's only trying to help."
"We don't need his help."
"I haven't seen him for 10 years. He's not usually here. He's here to pick up his daughter."
"Fine. Have him pick up his daughter and then get him out of here."
Ross is establishing himself as "Ross the boss", and it emphasizes Ross' animosity towards Goren. Goren gets the text message from Eames' phone and asks someone to trace the location, but Ross barks out the order to mobilize the office because he's "Ross the boss". To have Goren do it wouldn't fit the chain of command thing, so they're using artisitic license to reinforce Ross as top dog. And it would waste too much film time to have Goren tell Ross Alex's address, or have Ross call the secretary, just as it would take too much unnecessary film time to show Alex and Joe's picture hanging on the wall in the hallway instead of on her dresser. It would also lose the intense momentum coming from the squad room at that point--the audience is now on the edge of their seats, and "asking for address help" would take the intensity down a notch I think.
But I do like Ross and Rodgers together. And I like how it's so subtle. Subtle is much more preferable to blatant, in any ship on this show, imho.
