I'm watching Mr. Monk Goes to Mexico. Big shipper moment.

Scene: Monk is presumed dead. The Mexican Police Chief (whose name escapes me) tells Sharona, to which she, in tears, says, "I don't know what I'll do without him."

Then she leaves him to remarry her ex-husband.... Leaves Adrian Monk!

If she didn't know what she'd do without him when he was presumed dead, what would her reaction be when she left him?! What would she do?! Without him.

Logic says she must've had a breakdown.

So at best she would be heavily medicated at home, perhaps a sufferer of OCD herself, or institutionalized due to her condition. Or worse.

She didn't know what she would do without him....

Maybe the writers could do an episode where Mr. Monk visits her in the institution or something. But her return...? Impossible.

It will be nice if Sharona, intending to come back as Monk´s assistant, sees by some distance Monk and Natalie talking or walking together and enjoying theirselves, or even both of them laughing together with Julie, in a very "Happy Family Kind of Relation", or even better, if she catches Monk and Natalie in a shipping moment. That will be nice, she will understand that she made a huge mistake leaving Monk like that!!! She will suffer as Monk did!
Cruel thoughts indeed!!!

To tie your idea into mine...

Sharona arrives in San Francisco with her male nurse, Shanon, who has a daughter, Billie....

Suffers her trauma over Monk and Natalie....

Later, Shanon will leave to remarry his ex-wife, to be replaced by a new assistant, Nathanal, who has a son, Jude....

I know the writers had to think of something to explain Sharona's sudden disappearance, but I thought it was kind of weird that they used the "excuse" (for lack of a better word) that she remarried her ex-husband. The reason is because the few times I saw her interact with him (phone or in person-it was so long ago, I can't remember), they were always at each other's throats. Now on the other hand, she was always threatening to quit. I've heard her do that on a number of occasions.

Not to say the writers aren't brilliant anyway, but I think it would have been more "realistic" (to me anyway! tongue.gif ) to have Sharona leave Adrian a note, explaining that she's taking Benjy and leaving town or something to that affect. Then they could have progressed on with the search for a new assistant.

Just a thought.

I don't know if that would have worked well either. I think Monk might have tried to track her down and bring her back. The tie to Trevor, and the fact that Benjy would have his father, however flawed, was probably the only thing keeping him from following her to NJ.

If she had just left with no explanation, I think fans would have started despising Sharona for deserting him. At least this way she left for a legitimate and understandable reason.
