I just saw Earthquake for the first time since it was originally on, and I had forgotten about his blacking out and speaking giberish. I thought it was really, really cool! I was just wondering if any one knew how it was written; how they came up with that dialog. I'm into odd pieces of knowledge things like that.

thanques!

My guess would be that Tony made up the giberish himself. biggrin.gif

In the movie "The Imposters" where Tony plays some foreign guy on a boat (sorry, never seen the movie, only this part) and he's talking to his lover, I think, and he's talking in a fake accent. I read somewhere he combined Russian, Italian and German. Perhaps he used a similar language for this episode. I could be wrong, though.

That scene is crazy! He's so great with accents. I think it's what I like best about him.

I know!! He's so versatile...the best!! Antonio and Luigi (Italian), Voltri (HA! Finally thought of his name in Imposters, made-up), his character in "Paulie" (Russian, I think, or some country over there). Can't really think of any other accents he's done. Marci Maven is right (on Monk, not the screen name here tongue.gif ): He's friggin' awesome! And so, so talented!!!

That was great! I'd never seen anything like it before. What a trait to have; to start speaking gibberish after a major stress-related event!

Yeah crazily crude!! Lol!! I went the colour of beetroot when i saw that part of the film!!!! ph34r.gif I am terribly coy when it comes to things like that Lol!! I have to walk out the room, because it embarrasses me so much, i don't know why but it just does.

Tony does amazing accents i think the Italian, Russian and the one in"The Siege" which i think may be Arabic, i'm actually trying to learn Arabic myself, i know some words for example cotton i think is "qutn". It's a fascinating language.

Hey, thanks for all the replys. I knew Tony Shalhoub was great at accents, (I love Paulie) but man, I sure couldn't come up with something as crazy as that! Usually when some one trys to do that it sounds stupid, but he's got a lot of talent and made it work!

OMgoodness! He would have driven me crazy! Or if he was like my dad, annoyed his kids in public with it! ( like in the drive through of a fast food joint... long story.....love my dad tho!)

Remember him saying "She's now gone meatless" with an accent? LOL, I love that! laugh.gif Tony is an expert at accents.

OMG I just searched for the meaning of "Que le baque" which Tony says as Voltri in Imposters (you know in that other language) and it translates as "That it is vacant to him" Okay i sound weird but to me that is interesting, considering he was talking of blowing up a ship by planting a dynamite bomb!!

Sorry for the sort of off topic realization.
