I love the scene in *sound boddies*.. in the interragation room when connie slaps the snot out of Goren .. and his reaction.. *ouch*... that may be my all time fave.. you all have mentioned a lot that i too like
I don't know if this one has been mentioned.. I've been away.. but.. in *amends* when Alex is so upset with Bobby for stirring up memories of her husband's death.. when he says.. *you know we have to do this*.. and she does know.. and you can see the surrender in her face.

Oh I love both of those momentsm I actually just saw the episode *amends* you feels so bad for her and yet at the same time know she has to go through with it anyway.

Another one of my favs would have to be the episode *Homo Homini Lupus* at the end when VDO comforts the girl its sweet.

Yeah, I don't really know what to make of Bishop. Though it's clear that Bobby is very glad to see her go, considering he doesn't even say good bye at the end of Mad Hops, the next episode after FPS. The thing that gets me about that episode every time is when he's talking to the basketball couch, which is very insightful both because we learn again how he doesn't like being contradicted and because he rarely talks about his dad. I also like the iPod grab.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned a Logan episode yet. One of my favourites has to be To the Bone. That entire episode rocks, especially his talk with Olivet.

I do have a fav Logan epi...I mentioned it earlier on the Chris is hot thread...still slips my mind of the name...with the neighbor named Holly...he was so sweet with her and so crushed when she died...

That one's called Renewal, the s6 finale

Oh god that episode just got me all choked up. I always have to remind myself to watch the Logan episodes, because I'm much more of a Goren/Eames fan, but not anymore after that episode. I loved the whole slightly dreamy feel of that episode.

"I'm not dead, Mike, I'm not dead." When Holly says that at the end, I nearly cried.

I understand why the writers have taken Bobby and Alex on this emotional turn the last couple of seasons, but I wish they would bring back a little of the more joyful moments in the first three seasons. I miss the undercover operations, the way Bobby and Alex just seemed to know what the other would do. A perfect example is the scene (again, don't remember the name of the episode) where Alex is playing a waitress and she spills coffee on Bobby. I love his reaction because you know he really isn't mad at Alex, though he is yelling at her. I just always loved how they were able to turn that off and on as this was not the first or last time they "fought" in order to get a response from a suspect.

That was in "Shandeh" and it was actually cut out of the airing, at least in the US it's a deleted scene on the DVD.

But it was a great scene and it's sad they cut it. I think it made the episode better.

My take on Bishop from this episode is a little different than yours. I always thought that she kind of had a crush on him. If you watch when she sits on his desk, she sits up right next to him, like she really wants to be sitting on his lap. Then at the end of the episode, she looks crushed when Bobby gets Alex's text about her nephew being born and at the happy look Bobby gets on his face. She just looks so sad when she tells him that to call Alex. Great stuff.

And as a follow up to that, I love how happy Bobby seems to be during "Unrequited" (Love the name of the episode as well, being a shipper and all. Kind of fitting, to me at least.) He is just almost giddy that Alex is back. I really like the scene in where Bobby is watching the acting/dance class and he starts copying there moves from behind the glass in the office.

that's an interesting take on the Bishop/Goren relationship.. my thoughts are that she admired him but didn't want to show that.. she was constently trying to beat him at the draw... taking reports beforre he could see them .. the only time i can remember that she actually showed him up was in the epi *a murderer among us* while at the ME's she showed how the victim could have been defending herself as a boxer and he acknowledged that.. otherwise he gave her no creadance (spell check).
he was counting the days til Eames came back and brought her name up a couple of times.. the resteraunt scene where she said *just so you know.. I didn't enjoy that*.. and he says *NO.. Eames would 've* another scene I love.
I think he was cold toward her and at times it made me uncomfortable.. the time in *a murderer among us* when he almost knocked her down on the side walk.. he should have said sorry or something.. and in *FPS* when she said she would do the booking so he could call Eames.. he could have said thanks or something.. it was like Eames is an extra arm for him and Bishop was just a wart he wanted to get rid of.
I have to say in certain episodes they worked well together.. as in *FPS* when she played along with him at the end and some other times.. but all in all.. he just *yearned for his partner* Eames.

Maybe he apologized later? It's possible. Besides, she could be equally cold to him, such as the time he offered to let her "scroll," and she declined.

One of my favorite Bishop/Goren moments is when they are on the basketball court and Bobby is winning over the guys. Bishop is so clearly out of place, but so trying to fit in. I always looked at her like the high school geek who has a chance to hang out with the popular kids and is do everything in her power to show she belongs there, but the harder she tries, the more she shows how out of place she truly feels. Overall, she is a good detective, though I didn't like her at first. The more I rewatch the episodes with her, the more I do like her, though no one could EVER replace Alex.

Last night I rewatched the episode "Prisoner" which, of course, contains the famous "Bobby dancing" scene. However, I really enjoy another scene in that episode which I think also says a lot about the relationship between Goren and Eames. They enter the warden's office and Eames immediately comments that there are no photographs on the walls and asks Goren how he is going to amuse himself during the upcoming interview with the Deputy Warden. He is at a loss because there are no plaques or degrees either. While Eames interviews the Deputy Warden, Goren becomes noticeably more fidgety which distracts Eames. She keeps glancing at him and looking around the room before unexpectedly announcing "Books!" and pointing to the corner. Goren looks up with this mischievous little boy expression on his face and rushes over to the bookcase. IMO this scene amusingly demonstrates how totally Eames accepts (even enjoys) Goren's idiosyncrasies and makes every effort to accommodate them.

I'll have to rewatch that episode because I missed that. Another example of that is the infamous photograph scene, which I have already mentioned, but do love so. I love that when Bobby takes the photo, Alex pauses for a moment, then goes right back into questioning.

I was watching the episode Masquerade last night and while some of the scenes were just too icky for me (I know VDO is hot, but it was just SO WRONG to have to watch Liza hit on him. insert shudder here). But I love the scene on the porch where Beth opens the door after getting ready for BObby to show up (Again, insert shudder). WHen she opens the door expecting to see our hot detective all by himself and she sees Alex with him, I love the expression on her face. But the best is the look on Bobby's face after Alex tells her to call him if he needs a ride. It's a combination of dread, fear, and "Don't leave me here alone".

The woman that played the warden's wife in Prisoner, played the defense attorney in Jessee Martin's last episode on L&O last week.

I also find Masquerade difficult to watch, the whole Jon-Benet ripped from the headlines thing. Anyways when hubby and I were watching L&O last night, he says, "Hey wasn't that guy just on with your man and Liza Minelli". It was the guy that played the killer on Masquerade last night at 7 pm on USA and then he played the head of the "cult" on L&O at 10. Their ode to Scientology. Great episode though. Very well written.

oh yeah that was good I liked that alot, the phone book line that is, I like the episode *The Good Doctor* when the Dr. is sitting in the interrogation room and Goren walks in to tell him, "oh and this is an interrogation first thing you sit here." then he pulls the chair out and basically drops it on the floor and starts provking the Dr. to make him angry, which of course does work well.

I love anytime a suspect makes Bobby angry. You can just see the change come over his face. I love it when stage actors make their way to movies or television because they know all about subtle acting, where you have to engage your whole body. VDO and Kathryn are masters at that. I love watching things like their hands in a scene because they really help convey the emotion of what they are trying to express (and it surely does not hur that VDO had really nice hands biggrin.gif ).

I love when Bobby gets mad too. As soon as I see that expression I yell, "Slap the table Bobby!" and sure enough he does! haha

Okay this is probably more VDO then Goren, however, I think " the look " at the end of Siren Call qualifies. That 'look' really stuck in my mind, and that episode has a couple good scenes with amazing acting from both VDO and Erbe. It just gets me how much VDO can say without actually saying anything.

I was just watching Pas de Deux earlier and I there are two parts I REALLY like. One is the scene where Carver is saying, yet again, that he needs more evidence and he doesn't feel that the suspect that Bobby and Alex has chosen is right. The part I love is when Deakins and Carver have left the room and Alex tells Bobby that he knows she is with him no matter what, but that she has doubts that Marjorie is the bank robber. I love that she tells him alone and that she doesn't show any division or doubt in front of Carver. I also like that she is obviously comfortable enough her and Bobby's partnership to admit that though she believes Marjorie might be innocent that she will always support Bobby and that she made sure he knew it.

I also like the ending scene where Dancing Donnie is being interviewed. The whole scene is great from where Bobby sits down between Donnie and his lawyer to the end. When Bobby sits on the table, I am always like "Oh, Donny, you are so going down". But for me the best part is when, at the end of the episode, Donnie is proven to have a predisposition to kill himself by Bobby pulling the "drugs" out of his pocket. I love how Carver tells Bobby he has no idea how Bobby put the pills in Donnie's pocket, that he was watching him the whole time. Then Alex turns to Carver and tells him he was watching the wrong partner. LOVE THAT!! It just once more shows how in tune Bobby and Alex are and how suited they are as partners.

I haven't seen the episode with Dancing Donnie either really what is wrong with me I need to see these episodes like ASAP. I do however like the episode I think its called Semi-Professional, I love the part at the end when judge Sabatelli realizes he has been caught and he jumps as Carver so Goren steps in between them, it is one very small movement but it says so much without saying anything.

THere is another good scene in that episode where Bobby is reading one of Sabatelli's books and he keeps underlining parts. Alex looks at him and asks him if he is underlining the dirty parts. Bobby kinds of smiles, then replies that the sex is kind of robust (I think that is the word he uses). I like that scene because it show how comfortable they are with each other at this point in their partnership. I miss those days.

I like that scene very much also. But I also love Bobby talking to his mom when she is dying and she says she doesn't know who the father was. The look on Bobby's face is incredible. Very rarely do I forget that a character is an actress, but I can truthfully say Rita Moreno betrayed his mom so well, I DID forget she was an actress. In my opinion she is one of the finest actresses we've ever had. Now she is a diva.

The part I love from that scene is when she gets upset at him for no reason, and starts hitting him. The sight of that poor, weak dying woman, miserable, lashing out, beating at her big, strong detective son. . . Guh. Makes me so sad, makes me want to take them both home and make everything better. They did an amazing job of making us sympathize with Bobby while not demonizing his mother.

That was an amazing scene. One part that I really found heartbreaking was when his mother said: "You know what, you look like you're not taking care of yourself. Hey, your hair's grey. When did that happen?" To me those comments showed her lack of a real maternal bond with Bobby up to this point. She counted on him to meet her needs but she was not emotionally invested in him. Until now she never really "saw" him as a person with his own needs and wants, hopes and dreams. Never before had she noticed that he was emotionally drained and totally stressed out. She was only ever concerned with herself and with Frank. The realization that her confirmation of his suspicions about Brady was going to devastate Bobby finally shattered the emotional barrier she had erected between them. What a tragedy that their only real communication as mother and son occurred at her deathbed.

Everytime Mrs. Goren would go on and on about Frank, you could see Bobby sink further into himself and deeper behind the wall he built around himself. It's hard when you do everything for your parents and all they can talk about is your siblings. Even as an adult, you want your parents to be proud of you.

The scene that got me in regards to Mrs. Goren were when Bobby is talking to the doctor about the treatment options. You could see him trying so hard to hold onto the only family he had ever known, the one "constant" in his life. You could see in that scene that he had been dealing with his mother's illness for so long that he didn't know and couldn't imagine living any other way.

I have so many favorite moments but I do love the one just before Eames calls Goren and Logan, Oceans 2-Logan decides to go check out this location and asks if Goren wants to come along and just before he goes he gives an inquiring look to Eames almost like a kid waiting for Mom's permission, Is it OK if I go with him-love that relationship between them-as much as the acting has been so outstanding, I would love to see Goren and Eames doing their little undercover scenes and Bobby smiling again-

A scene I also really enjoy is in "Bedfellows" when Goren is talking with Mrs. Lila Gibbs about an alibi for Gus, the landscaper. The whole situation is so amusing that he can barely keep a straight face while talking with her. Mrs. Gibbs appears none too bright so she is totally oblivious to Bobby's real meaning when he says "He does your garden (quick hand over mouth to hide grin). This garden that he ... uh ... (rubs back of neck) tends for you, is it in the city? He can't suppress his amusement at all when she says that Gus left just before her husband arrived on Saturday and that Gus "doesn't want to give people the wrong impression".

Last night USA ran "Pardoner's Tale" where the reported gets shot and killed. There are so many great scenes in that episode. When I first realized what episode it was, I got excited because it was a Lewis episode. I have mentioned my love for Lewis already, so I will not expound upon it again. But I will mention that I love the line when Lewis looks at Bobby and says, "I never get used to seeing you in a suit". There is such a comfortable, joking between two, long-time friends.

The other part I like is right before Alex and Bobby goes to meet Lewis, Bobby tells her that he needs to go see a buddy of his and asks Alex if she would like to come along, to which replies, "I always love meeting your buddies". I like that because, like with the scene with Lewis, it shows a level of comfort with each other. Yet, it always gets me wondering, just how many of Bobby's buddies as Alex met?

I also LOVE the scenes with Bobby and the ex-cop's little boy. The scene when they arrest the guy and Bobby at once picks the little boy up always gets me. Then later when he hands the boy his badge and makes a point to show the little guy a picture of his father in better times makes me smile. I love that Bobby tries to give the boy something of his father to be proud of despite what happened.

Oh yeah I was glad to have scene that episode again it was really good I always enjoy that one and of course who could possibly forget Lewis he is great. I don't know if I have said it before but I just last night I watched "The Good Doctor" and I love it when ADA Carver tell Goren and Eames that the Dr. won't get on the stand so Goren say "put me on the stand...I'll get him there." Then he just kind of smirks.

In Probability, I really like the Goren-Wally scenes, though come to think of it this is one of the sad episodes.
Wally's looking over the case files to find traits and has Goren explain how he figured them out, while Eames watches. There is this cute shot of Wally and Goren studying the case files.
Just watched Ill-Breed, Goren and Eames seem really in sync in this one from playing suspects to jokes. Like where they search the customs guys car.

Poison is one episode that I just do not like, even though it has Briscoe and Green. But charging that poor old lady with a murder they knew she didn't commit--that went too far.

However, I watch it for this one scene. Every time Bobby kneels down next to the nurse, I go THUD!!!!

Yes I love that part too...protective...like okay, just try something and see what it gets you!

They played so well off each other, its hard to believe they really weren't mother and son. I can so understand how he must have grown up...the epis with his mom tear my heart out.

I just wanted to hug him. Though, taking him home wouldn't have been bad either. wink.gif

Well said, I totally agree.

That episode was just on I think. I know his face is priceless in that scene that woman is trying very hard to help, of course I don't really blame her anything to get closer to Bobby wink.gif .

I am watching Jones right now with the infamous line of "I wear a size 13 what size do you where? *throws his leg up onto the table revealing his size 13 shoe* A 9...an 8" Even better is when he says "aahh! you even have little hands"

Ah yes, his laugh is so cute! And the look on his face is priceless and he says that to the guy.

Bobby is very protective of children and seems to have a spot in his heart for boys with messed up dads. Must be his own childhood memories coming through.

Wow once again i thought I was the only one who wasn't really fond of this episode but still loved this scene. I just love the way he makes his way to the floor grabbing her hands ::sigh:: also there is something about when she moves her hands to her face before she stands up and the way he moves with her as she does it ::THUD::

Another moment that always makes me go THUD. During Bobby's aria with Camilla (here's why I remember her name), he stands really close with his face next to her hair and says, "C'mon, Camilla, tell them what you did." I would confess to anything, just before I went ::thud:: Also, I love Camilla's red hair.
And this is an episode that I love. The husband and wife are SO bizarre! I always laugh when Goren and Eames are talking to the wife in the beginning and she sticks her "girls" in Bobby's face. laugh.gif I love when Carver says, "This family makes me want to go home and hug my wife."

I have got to see this episode I want him to stand really close to me. I also want to see Bobby's reaction to the mom coming onto him that would be a good one.

Today when watching Diamond dogs, I just wanted to hug Mike Logan when he said, after the boy turned on his mother, and his mother cursed him out, and Mike said, I should have warned him there wouldn't be any thanks. How both Mike and Bobby didn't have that motherly love, I seem to forget that of Mike.

One of my favorite LOCI moments was the interrogations of Chelsea (Whoopy Goldberg) by Mike Logan
I could not believe it when she said " and then, nothing, lawyer.

Oh so, so, so many moments....

I think there's one that sticks out the most for me. Many of you have mentioned the scenes of Bobby with his mother....but there's one particular moment, when he tells her he "has to know" about Brady, and she gets angry with him, and he concedes, "We'll talk about something else." You think that's the end of it, but then she says "I was never sure", and he almost bursts into tears. And that 6 foot 4, 300 pound man in that much distress is a disturbing sight. There's always a few extrememly rare moments, so few they can be counted on one hand in 7 years of the show, when you see his cheek twitch and you know whoever he's talking to has gotten to him (think Nicole or Judge Garrett). Well, the cheek twitches at that moment. And then his mother hits him in frustration and he steps away....that scene just kills me and it's such a perfect example of just how damn good VDO is.

I also love the moment in the Judge Garret ep, In the Wee Small Hours..., when he's so upset about what's been done to his mother. We've been told for so long that he's a caregiver, that she's mentally ill, but this is really the first time we see what it does to him.

There's many others...every time he smiles. Every time he does the Goren Lean/The Crane or gets in someone's face, stands too close, and you know he knows he's got them. And every time he yells, when his natural soft-spoken-ness gives way to a higher-pitch with his volume.

I love it too when he yells. Even when he smiles and laughs it is mostly sarcastically, or in mocking the suspect, but he still looks sexy though.

I just read your remarks about Bobby/Vince and you hit all the wonderful areas of his character. Like you said, he doesn't let hisw guard down very often, but when he does it is so awesome. I think he's the best actor on tv frankly. Can't wait til June 8th!!
