Welcome southerncharms03!!!

It's nice to see Capt. Deakins getting some love. He was such a decent guy and pretty hot in his own right. I like Ross OK but I miss Deakins (and Carver) Don't go back under the rock-there might be creepy crawlies under there. Stay out here with us.

Yeah...Deakins doesn't seem to get mentioned as much as everyone else, so I figure I might as well.

As for going back underneath the rock, I think I've officially been drawn out for good. biggrin.gif

I loved End Game as well, for the scenes of Bobby with his mother. He's such a gentle, kind-hearted, decent and damaged, man. The final scene, him sitting alone in the dark near his mother's empty bed.....*whimper*. Oh, Detective Goren, what you do to me.

The other scene I loved is the one where Alex was kidnapped and the bursts of desperation and temper he displayed. There's a certain rise in pitch in his voice. Usually he's so soft-spoken, but when he's angry, his voices goes up an octave. And again, the final hospital scene. Good man. Great actor.

There are too many for me too name them all...I especailly like Bright Boy and the others where he deals with young people...the expression on his face (Goren's) when the little boy showed him his workbook...::tears up::...and Eames' one liners and final comments...she hits the nail on the head each time. i know its the writers that make the lines, but how they both execute them...its very moving and convincning to me.
ebsinger7
I have to admit as much as I LOVE Bobby, I loved Alex raking him over the coals. That was just fandastic.

Now back to me Loving Bobby, Eams just yelled at him so much poor thing sad.gif
bcary1013
I know this is going to sound weird and that I don't like Bobby (though you all know I do), but I like the times when Alex gives him the brush off "A War at Home" and "Betrayed". I don't know why I like those scenes, but I do. ohmy.gif

*is delurking...again* Wow. I've been away from here for a while. Favorite CI moment, huh?

I've probably seen the s4 episode "My Good Name" at least six times (this is what happens when I read the schedules ahead of time to see what eps are coming), but that ending still gets to me. The way Goren and Eames totally play Frank Adair and his "assistant" against each other, right there in the squad room was one of the best scenes in the show, IMO.

But my favorite moment is when Frank says to Deakins, "Don't I have any friends here?" (or something close to it, I haven't seen the ep in a while), and Deakins is like, "Save it, Frank." That look he's got on his face like he can't believe one of his friends that he's known for years has fallen so far...it's sad, to me, anyway, 'cause throughout most of the episode he hadn't wanted to believe that Frank had anything to do with the case at hand, and then at the end, he didn't really have a choice but to believe it.

Oh, and that line right before the credits: "There goes the greatest cop I ever knew." That, too.

As a side note, I guess I could say any moment of CI that had Deakins in it, but the ending scenes of "My Good Name" are definitely favorites.

*goes back under rock*

I love the scene in Want when Bobby is arguing with Carver against the death penalty for Tagman. There is a close-up of Deakins looking at Bobby as he's ranting with this look of disbelief. One of these days I'll try to find a screen cap for it. His expression is SO perfect! Then he tells Bobby that he's with Carver and to "step into him."

Please, please don't go back under that rock! We need someone to remind us how awesome Deakins is!

It's nice to see that I've been accepted so quickly around here, especially since I've hardly been around for the past little while. I think I will stay out from under the rock. And as for reminding people how awesome Deakins was/is, well...that should be easy. laugh.gif

I love the scene in "Smothered 1:3" when Goren and Carver are interrogating Mrs. Van Aker's "bad-ass secret agent" husband and the husband says, "I have been interrogated by the best and have the scars on my genitals to prove it." Goren gets an "oh, yeah?!?" little smirk on his face. Classic.

I also like the scene in "Blink 2:20" when Goren and Eames go to visit an old friend of Goren's dad to ask about a gambling scheme. The friend asks Eames if she was the person Goren brought to his dad's funeral. He says, "I didn't tell you then, but you were exquisit." Goren gets all pissy and says, "I didn't bring anyone to the funeral."

I also love the scene in "Want 4:3" when Goren is giving the suspect tips on picking up women and says, "Women respond to confidence."

To be honest I respond to everything Bobby every does.

I especially like when his Brooklyn accent comes out. It did during "Want" at times when he was talking to psycho Doogie Houser.

Another time was in the aria for "Magnificat"... 'When she was at the edge of that precipice... you did nuthin."

It don't seem like much on it's own.... but his delivery of it... the barely contained violence in his voice bringing out the Canarsie in him..... Took my breath away.

Just about breaks my heart every time I see the end of Magnificat when Goren asks Carver if there isn't anything in the book he's holding that they can charge the husband with. ::sniffle::

I don't know if this could be considered a favorite moment but I would consider it one of the more touching moments on CI for me.

Last night I was watching the ep where a mentally disturbed man dyed his hair blond and got blue contacts. He was all about everyone staying pure and in their natural state. His brother, who was quite evil, starting killing the optometrists and plastic surgeon and hair colorists in an effort to get his brother blamed for it.

What I found so interesting was that this show aired long before Bobby's brother Frank was introduced, but Bobby made several references to him--about how Frank was always the "good" one, how Bobby understood about brothers, and shame on the older brother for not trying to help the younger one in trouble. How much was foreshadowing? Considering what a loser Bobby's brother really is, these words have real resonance now.

I also love at the end when Goren tells the older brother-refering to the brother who was schizophrenic-'He may be crazy, but you're evil"

Sound Bodies is on right now. It's one of my favorites.

When Bobby is talking to the Little boy who's mom blew up his brothers in the car and he and his mom where the only one's to survive. Magnificant.

Bobby ask the little boy if he can have the picture of the dinosaur, and the little boy just wants to know if they are going to hang it up.

Bobby smiles and says "Sure we are going to hang it up"

Funny how kids are so concerned about having their pictures hung up, I wish they would have shown that picture hung up somewhere in the squad room.

The USA network ran a CI marathon on Saturday with the character insights as well-
They ran "In The Wee Small Hours", one of my favorites, but I caught a now favorite moment which I had overlooked before-
Both sets of detectives are at the Shock and Awe club looking for the missing girl and the guy she was dancing with-
Goren goes up to a very young, female waitress and asks if she has seen them-
She replies, No, why are they your grandchildren or something-
Never really took notice of that line before and just loved it-

Also loved the look Goren and Logan had when Barek said she knew of the club.

That marathon yesterday had all of my favorites. In The Wee Small Hours, Pas De Deux, so many.
I had DVR'd A Person of Interest that was on recently (or maybe it was on, it was midnight so I was tired), but I noticed that they eliminated part of the scene when Nicole Wallace said something about Bobby not marrying or having children yet. I know that he had a response, but they cut that part out.

Yeah if was after she divorced GAvin hanes. Cause she wouldn't see a doctor, and he divorced her cause she couldn't have kids. And she said some of us aren't fated to have children. That was Great Barrier.

My Favourite moment is a season 2 moment. In holland they're still broadcasting reruns of that season and we have to wait for the third season until august second of this year.
It's from the Best Defense episode where Bobby copies the behaviour of the guy (still can't figure out why he does that, anyone?)

Oh ya, I'm with you! Every time I watch that episode I replay that scene two or three times. I think he was just having fun and maybe picking up some mannerisms to be used in the future. Either way, it's hilarious!

QUOTE (bcary1013 @ Apr 23 2008, 10:16 AM) *
Okay, here is one of my favorites. I don't remember the name of the episode, but it's the one where the lady is walking her dog and sudddenly goes missing. Anyway, the dog is later found, covered in something disgusting. Well, Bobby being Bobby smells it. Alex turns and says that she doesn't want to know what it smelled like. It turns out to be coffee. But coolest part of this episode is the next part because the focus of the scene is on Bobby and Rogers, but the scene is shot over ALex's shoulder and she still manages to be apart of the scene. If you watch as Bobby and Rogers are talking, Alex reaches out and plays with the coffee grounds for a moment, then actually pulls a "Bobby" by smelling them. I didn't notice this the first time I watched this episode, but when I watched it the second time, I about fell out of my chair. As I stated, its a really subtle thing, but it adds something to the character.

rolleyes.gif My favorite CI Moment is the episode when all four detectives are looking for the missing girl from Iowa and Logan and Bobby go to the Men's club. Just before leaving the station with Logan, Bobby gives a 'I'll be okay, don't worry' expression to Eames, very boyish, or should I say mother and son type affection, and she says 'There goes Ocean two'.
JanxAngel
Last night's episode, when Eames says to Bobby, "I'll make sure he's your type."

Lol.

I bet the reason he does that is because he can but probably because they say that cops hate the rich people because one they have money and most cops are not from wealthy families and they hate that the rich can pay their way out of a lot of situations. And two, probably because he is a method actor and he makes reference to it all the time.

The "dance" in the interrogation room between VDO and Charles Rocket. Now those two are two tall, big-footed men! And that look of utter disbelief on the suspect's face--hilarious!

I have The View one and a couple others including the 5 Minutes Mr. Welles one...on my myspace and my facebook...hmmm maybe I AM pathetic....

Another favorite scene of mine: Goren in the car on Purgutory....in the shrinks office with Ross and also in the firing range practicing with that big, load gun! HOT!

Eames in the interrogation room with the suspects alone, been doing that these days...and her "Get your feet off my partners desk" comment. Also, sad shot I know...the expression she showed in the hall with the holding cells, when she found out Bobby was undercover...that was great acting!

back on topic: i luv it in "conscience" when bobby and alex are talking to the guy and they want to know if he is familiar with this some sort of enhanced water or something that was part of the murder (it's been a while since i saw this) and while he's picking something out of some document (wow, i'm vague), bobby and alex some how switch the cups of water they were drinking around so the "special" water alex was drinking (i think it was called catswhiskers....once again, vague) so it was in front of guilty dude. then bobby picks up a different one and says, "this isn't mine" and then the guilty guy drinks the catswhiskers water and can identify it. so clever.

i hope that makes some sense...it does in my mind, but that's a very cluttered and unorganized place. tongue.gif

Yup, it makes perfect sense to me. Catswhiskers was the herbal diaretic(sp) they put in the water to get him to admit he had tasted it and knew what it was.
That was a good episode. The scene at the end was good as well...questioning the woman in the vegatative state and getting the husband to admit what he had done.

Nother fav scene - Goren and Eames in the SUV after the funeral/wake in Amends, when they really talk.

THAT look in the hall when she found out Bobby was undercover - it was like "Oh no you DIDn'T go undercover and not tell your PARTNER." blink.gif (Yes, I understand why Goren didn't tell her - but her expression was SO spot-on.)

I liked the scene in Cherry Red where Lewis sees Eames and with a huge smile says, "Detective Alex!", and Eames looked----not embarrassed, but---maybe a little flustered at the attention? With a bit of a blush on her cheeks.

I love "Vanishing Act" where Bobby performs the magic tricks just for Alex. Yummy!!

I also love one scene in the episode with the computer programers and the lady who used to teach torture techniques. Any way, the scene I love is where Bobby is standing there talking to the supervisor of one of the programmers and he is making a cup of coffee. You think he is making if for himself, but then a moment later he carries it into Alex. I love that scene because it's Bobby taking care of his partner.

i luved it in "probability" when wally the insurance guy (who ends up to be the killer) asks alex all those questions and she trys to move to the side and he moves with her and stays right in her face until she says something like "im sure my partner wud be happy to explain all this to you" then when bobby and walley walk into the other room, walley says "i've upset her haven't i" and bobby says "yeah, she was uncomfortable." happy.gif

i luved all of wally's little comments like "i've found that if i make eye contact 2/3 of the time, i seem to be staring and if i make eye contact 1/3 of the time i seem dishonest" or something like that.

And just the way wally acted...all uncomfortable and shuffling and what not. bobby called him an "interesting man." i have a thing for guys with quirks. such a shame he was guilty cuz i was hoping he'd return in other eps
