Hi Bubba here, ...

laugh.gif That was a good one. There are too many for me to pick just one. rolleyes.gif I reckon you can say that about all great show right. wink.gif

Loved the Ferrari scene--for one thing, it was so unusual because Bobby truly forgot for a moment that he's a detective and his life sucks, and was just a *guy* with an orgasmastic car. But what also amused me about that scene is that he had to hunch over in the seat to fit! He's bigger than the car!
bcary1013
I loved the scene in the episode that USA ran tonight where the undercover FBI agent gave drugs and alcohol to an underage girl while also sleeping with her. During the questioning, Bobby mentions just how much that pisses him off. I LOVE how protective Bobby gets with women. You know whenever a crime involves a women and he is questioning the person responsible, that it going to be a really good "Goren show" and that person will go down. I have a soft spot for big teddy bears types, especially ones who treat women with respect and care like Bobby does.

Thanks. I'm sad to say that I don't remember exactly where I found it. I just REALLY liked how Bobby was looking at Alex and vice versa.

I just recently rewatched the Season 5 episode "Proud Flesh" and I really enjoyed the scene where Eames and Goren interviewed the dominatrix. I think Bobby first thought she was an ordinary hooker and tried to intimidate her by attacking immediately, e.g. "Are you going to take your coat off? Did you just come from a job?" Once it was confirmed that she was actually a dominatrix, his reaction was priceless. He was obviously both intrigued and disconcerted by her as evidenced by him not knowing what to do with himself , e.g. shuffling around, folding and unfolding his arms, shifting around his coat and maintaining constant eye contact as if transfixed. Once he finds out her "day job" is a 911 Operator, he is even more intrigued. She is obviously pretty sharp and she plays up to his interest in her. Once he settles down and begins to "play the game" with her, I think his approach was actually a form of flirting. When she refuses to give them information, in obvious enjoyment Goren says "But it's his fault for bringing attention to you. He really needs to learn a lesson I think." I found his reaction really amusing when she said "It just makes me want to smack him harder." When she removes her coat and walks away, he can't keep his eyes from following her. I was expecting Eames to make one of her trademark snarky comments, e.g. "I'm surprised you can still talk with your tongue hanging out like that!"

Actually, this scene is not the first time Bobby displayed a strong interest in domination. Makes me think he might like to explore that aspect of his sexuality. There was also a great scene in the Season one episode "Seizure" when Eames found the stack of porno books in Dr. Dwyer's closet. (Interestingly enough, the dominatrix's last name was also Dwyer.) Bobby described one of the books she found as "domination porno for intellectuals" and walked around reading it while Eames continued the search.

Here's another interesting point that also occurred to me. In the Season 7 episode "Smile" Leslie LeZard somehow gets to Bobby. He stared at her from their first meeting in Ross' office and she picked up on his interest and played him. I couldn't figure out why he displayed such an immediate interest in her. However, I think "tarted up" a bit with more dramatic make-up she would bear a very strong resemblance to the dominatrix pictured above. Could that be the reason for the attraction?

Hi. First time posting here, but I've been an avid fan of the show since I first saw a rerun on USA. Now, it's the only show I watch that I watch live and in person. I don't tape it to watch later like I do everything else.

I love all of Alex's sarcastic and snarky little comments, but the one about "There they go, Ocean's Two" was my absolute favorite, too. I laugh every time I see it. I also love it whenever Goren and Eames play husband and wife. Even though I am definitely not a shipper, it's just so cute when they do that. Someone else mentioned the scene at the shoe store in Anti-Thesis and another favorite of mine is in Shrink Wrapped when they go to talk to the artist who did the picture the daughter made a point of showing them. They tried to do the same thing in a Logan/Falacci episode, Seeds, I think and it totally fell flat. Leave the husband wife thing to the pros.

Hi jacelle. Welcome to the forum. I love Alex's comments as well and the "Oceans two" one was great. I especially loved Bobby's "metrosexual" affectation in the shoe store scene in Anti-Thesis. It's a great time to join the forum. Everyone here is so excited about the great promos USA is airing and the continuation of Season 7 on June 6th.

Edited to change the Season 7 continuation date to June 8th.

Welcome Jachelle! Someone on another thread mentioned that USA should be using Eames' snarks for one of the promos, and I agree. That would be hilarious. And you are right that Goren and Eames do the undercover couple thing much better than Logan and Falaaci.

I agree. Eames snarks are always great.

Eames and Goren do a great job of the undercover couple thing because there is great "chemistry" between them (but not in a shippy way). They trust and respect each other and they both know that the other partner is quick witted enough to catch any curve balls that might need to be thrown out during the undercover assignment.

Well said..My personal thought is that he likes brunettes...(psst, I AM a brunette, wink wink)! And also, I think personality differences intrigue him...he likes to see what makes people think the things they do...what makes them "tick".

I love Bobby's little act then as well. Just his smiling, makes me smile. And him and Eames play that undercover so well. Its like they read each others minds and know how the other is going to react...and what will be their next move...totally in a NON-SHIPPING way.

I actually started watching the show last November to see what Bobby would do next, but quickly became a HUGE fan of Alex and her sarcastic wit. One of the best lines of all time - "Do you think they can print a hand gesture?" But like with VDO, Kathryn has those subtle moments were her acting talent just shines. They make such a good partnership.

Anyway, I love it whenever Bobby and Alex have to go undercover. I miss them doing that.

I love in Privilege when they go to the playground and Bobby yells at their imaginary son. "Max! Max, play nice!" and then he asks the two moms to watch their kid while they go afte Dillon, and both mothers look over where "Max" is supposed to be. Cracks me up every time. laugh.gif

Thanks for the welcome everybody. I agree that scene in the park with "Max" was one of the best undercover ones. I think I'll have to go watch that episode again since you reminded me. I don't think this has been mentioned, but "In The Wee Small Hours", when the attorney for the judge asks Alex to read "the highlighted portion" of her request for a transfer and she tries to explain but the attorney cuts her off(cut to Bobby's "Spock, no emotion face{conveying more emotion in the eyes and small expressions then most actors can convey in the MacBeth death scene}); Alex pleading for help mostly with those eyes and minimal expression(again great acting) and of all people Carver coming to the rescue conveyed a lot about their history and trust that developed over the years. And then Bobby with his "You're right I am an aquired taste," and "I'm lucky you withdrew your request," not only spoke to their relationship but to me as a follower of the show. I may not have gotten the quotes and sequence exactly right. Just as an aside I think this is one of the things that distinguishes a quality series from just another TV show is the memorable moments seem real and can bring a smile, grin or guffaw or an emotional response even when that particular episode is not one of the "best", and the moments do not seem contrived. I have also decided that if I am on the stand as a witness at some point I will read the non-highlighted portions of the document.

I love and hate this episode. As a shipper, I am at once inclined to hate anything that takes Bobby's focus off of Alex, dry.gif But I do like the scene where Deakins comes in and asks ALex if Bobby is getting too close to Nelda. She tells Deakins that Bobby is just playing the woman, but the moment Deakins leaves, you can see on her face that she doesn't know if she truly believes what she just told Deakins.

For me, when Det. Goren FLIRTS, it's the BEST. It shows that he's a 'guy'. It lets us have an oh-so-small glimpse into Bobby's 'personal' life. The epi with Nelda was positively exquisite.

Oh...that one. I hadn't seen that particular ep in a long long time but last night brought it all back. How young and teenagery and awkward Bobby really is in any situation with a pretty woman with a brain that he's attracted to. My favorite moment of the ep was when Nellie helped him on with his jacket...it totally flummoxed the big man. "Um...er. Oh." This from someone always known for his glibness. And his quiet, regretful "I didn't mean for you to see", when she tried to get him to admit that he did indeed care for her. I don't think Robert Goren has ever known what it's like to be cherished. So sad...

I know this is one of the MOST debated scenes in recent CI history, but I liked the scene in Purgatory where Alex yelled at Bobby. I think she has mostly held her tounge about things that have happened in the last season and she was fed up. Was she right? Was she wrong? I'll let you be the judge of that, but I still liked the scene.

I liked that scene a lot, too. Not really because she was yelling at him, but a lot of reasons. For one thing, it was the first time they "talked" (at least partially) and when there was silence in the room, it kept your heart beating fast. She was pretty brave for standing up to him, and talking in front of him. She isn't completely scared of what he will say that she won't say anything. Some of Bobby's lines were a little strange and short. I didn't really understand them. Anyway, I thought Vincent and Kathryn did a great job. It's really hard to do that in a scene without missing a step.

Get your feet off my partner's desk!

And B/A sitting very close together on the desk in "Betrayed". People who are still mad at each other won't sit that close! So without many words that scene meant to me that they are going to be okay.

I agree, Tasha. Every expression, every nuance--he was perfect in this episode.

Eames definitely puts Bobby in his place! That's why they make a great team!

I loved End Game as well, for the scenes of Bobby with his mother. He's such a gentle, kind-hearted, decent and damaged, man. The final scene, him sitting alone in the dark near his mother's empty bed.....*whimper*. Oh, Detective Goren, what you do to me.

The other scene I loved is the one where Alex was kidnapped and the bursts of desperation and temper he displayed. There's a certain rise in pitch in his voice. Usually he's so soft-spoken, but when he's angry, his voices goes up an octave. And again, the final hospital scene. Good man. Great actor.
Gorens0Girl
I am watching Cuba Libra (the one with paranoid old man and the famous "John Woo 180 degree cock" line...swoon). Anyway, there is a subtle Gorenism in the beginning when Eames is talking to Milt Winters and the doctor is standing behind Milt. Bobby is in the background leaning back and forwards looking up at pictures. It is a classic. Eames is talking and Bobby is observing.

Also, I love the entire epi abt with the chemistry teacher woman and the man she met at dance class. Is the 2nd epi after Eames materinty leave (I cant think of the name of it, it has been a long day). The undercover scene with B&E in the flooring wearhouse is great. But, right at the beginning, Eames tells the sales guy, "We have been all over town trying to match it." Bobby rolls his eyes and it is so perfect. It is like he is really annoyed with her. I love it!

As so many people have said there are so many favorite moments. I thought it was so sweet in Betrayed when they're on the street and Alex says something, and Bobby "exactly" and she looks at him like he's lost his mind and he's like "I'm just saying..". That is such the doofy, awkward, adolescent kind of reaction that makes you laugh.
tashafallen
one of my fav moment is in the first episode at the end when he pushes they guy on the floor and then puts his big huge foot on his head ... ::THUD THUD :: i dont know why but that was just awsome ... it made me squil(sp?)

I have favorite moments from every episode even if the episode as a whole is not a fav. Anyway, "Collective" was on the other day. I missed a lot of it but 2 parts that I saw and had forgotten about were:
* When they went to that fan club meeting and were "Bob and Alex" just hearing them day that kept me laughing.
*G/E go to the recovered relics store owned by one of the couples in the fan club. Bobby does his "Goren thing" admiring newel posts, door knobs, hinges-I forget what-to worm his way upstairs and into the couple's apt. I didn't describe it very well but it is funny classic Goren.

I love those scenes too! I also love when they are at the store in Philadelphia and Bobby starts playing with the toy gun and knocking stuff around.

*is delurking...again* Wow. I've been away from here for a while. Favorite CI moment, huh?

I've probably seen the s4 episode "My Good Name" at least six times (this is what happens when I read the schedules ahead of time to see what eps are coming), but that ending still gets to me. The way Goren and Eames totally play Frank Adair and his "assistant" against each other, right there in the squad room was one of the best scenes in the show, IMO.

But my favorite moment is when Frank says to Deakins, "Don't I have any friends here?" (or something close to it, I haven't seen the ep in a while), and Deakins is like, "Save it, Frank." That look he's got on his face like he can't believe one of his friends that he's known for years has fallen so far...it's sad, to me, anyway, 'cause throughout most of the episode he hadn't wanted to believe that Frank had anything to do with the case at hand, and then at the end, he didn't really have a choice but to believe it.

Oh, and that line right before the credits: "There goes the greatest cop I ever knew." That, too.

As a side note, I guess I could say any moment of CI that had Deakins in it, but the ending scenes of "My Good Name" are definitely favorites.

I don't have much to say very often, but every now and then something comes around...I read through the thread and didn't see Deakins mentioned very often, so....

Of course, I may have missed something, and I don't doubt that it's likely, but "My Good Name" has got to be my favorite episode of CI overall, so I had to mention it. biggrin.gif

This reminded me of that part in "Wizard of Oz" (stay with me here) when Dorothy says to the Scarecrow "I think I'll miss you most of all," when the Tin Man and Lion are standing right there. Awkward. What are Goren and Eames, chopped liver?

Did VDO faint after running those steps?
I don't remember, but I have the impression I have read that this was the very episode when VDO was sick.
southerncharms03
another favorite moment that just popped up in my mind:

The ending of Stress Position, right when Goren and Logan have just left to the prison, and Logan says: "That guy...he would've been worth another ten years on Staten Island."

One of my favorite lines from him in all of his time on CI. biggrin.gif

I read that he collapsed after filiming an epi where he had to do some "climbing". I couldn't remember any time he climbed, but maybe those stairs were it!

Welcome southerncharms03!!!

It's nice to see Capt. Deakins getting some love. He was such a decent guy and pretty hot in his own right. I like Ross OK but I miss Deakins (and Carver) Don't go back under the rock-there might be creepy crawlies under there. Stay out here with us.
