I got your b-day wishes this morning, cifan. Thank you. The day with the sisters was very much 'odd' long story and one I won't go into here. My niece being along was the only saving grace. sad.gif

My dad's been gone 22 years this year and Father's Day is always a sad time but I can get through it OK. With today being my b-day, I guess it just hit me especially hard.

9:00PM PA time and still no call - I'm hoping he's having a good time, since I know he made it to his destination (niece talked to the twins' mom earlier today) but a phone call from him would be nice.

Thanks, TCIF - just a bad case of feeling sorry for myself today. If I told the whole story of how my day went, it would make for an amusing tale for someone reading it but it just makes me want to NOT go anywhere with both sisters at the same time ever again. blink.gif

Thanks for the wishes ciaddict - smile.gif

My dad's been gone 22 years (23 this October) which is close to half my life too. He was such a great guy and I regret that he never got to meet my son. They would have been great buddies.

Your raging teenager and my son person are both gone for the week. I say we eat junk food, jump on the furniture and do nothing but watch Logan and Goren all week. I'll be over in 5 minutes. tongue.gif

Thanks Enaka - I got your PM card this morning too.

I appreciate you getting up early to send along my Happy B-Day. smile.gif On my days off (when I have them, I'm wide awake by 5:30AM - on the days I have to get up and go to work, I could sleep through a marching band in my bedroom. Why is that?

Spook and I were getting very worried about you. We were beginning to wonder what happened. If you don't wanna tell the story here, you can PM me or email me with it. I will listen. smile.gif

I understand being down on your b-day and it being Father's Day too. sad.gif

I understand completely where you are coming from on the staying in bed during the week and up early on weekends. I just don't get it. blink.gif

I'm the same way on the weekends--bright eyed and bushy tailed by 7am Sat or Sun. Mon morning, I could sleep until noon!

It sure didn't seem moving to me. It was very slow or I didn't have anything to say. ::shrugs shoulders::

The one morning I can sleep in because he sleeps in and I get up, partially because I couldn't sleep and partially because I wanted to make sure and wish Judy a Happy Birthday before she left. Maybe it was anxiety that I couldn't sleep. I want to sleep in during the week when I work and I can't and on the weekend when I can sleep in, I am either unable to or don't want to. Weird.

That's too bad, after we got you wanting to talk, then there was no one here to talk TO. blink.gif

Can I finish watching Contract in here? I never thought I would say this, but is anyone else TIRED of talking about Purgatory? I keep telling myself that I'm not gonna say anything else, but then I get pulled into this "Goren did this for Eames, Eames did this for Goren, she owe him an apology, he owes her an apology". I have seen it 3 times and still have it on my DVR. I am still reading some fics on it but other than that nothing.

I am not paying attention much to 'Contract'. Paid attention to the Wheeler stuff. I am sooo excited to see her back. She's my favorite Logan partner. I'll end up watching it later in the week again so I can catch it again. Is Logan getting fat in the face? I just looked up at my TV and it caught my eye. Am I seeing things? blink.gif

Murphy's Law: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

I think Murphy's Law has become the story of my life lately. Just when I think things are going along smoothly, someone pulls the carpet out from under me.

I'm glad you and spook have each other - seems like I'm always missing out on the fun anymore.

I know you just wanted to come home. You always talk about wanting to be alone and spend time alone. I can understand that. Exactly my feelings and why I spend my time on my computer and away from everyone. Not that I don't love my hubby and kids but I am just an alone person, I guess. mellow.gif

Ah that Murphy's Law. Got it. Sounds like our luck. We have a string of good luck and then something breaks to where we have to spend a ton of money to fix it. Hence our income tax that is now gone. Had to buy new washer/dryer and new beds and fix car and son's ceiling and buy side of beef and income tax was gone. We hope that stimuli check that is being mailed end of this week does not fly out the door like income tax did. sad.gif I swear God or the government knows when we get extra money. Never fails.

I hear you have tomorrow and Friday off. I have to work a long 11 or 12 hour day tomorrow but Friday is a short day for me. We always have a little bit of tomorrow (and I mean a little bit) and quite a bit of Friday for fun, unless you have plans. The 3 of us ought to plan an email or PM adventure. Is there such a thing? laugh.gif We need some rest and relaxation. October is a looong way away but thank goodness for a couple of days off. I live for them.

WOW!!!! A LOT of posting got done here while I was off-line. A new forum for shipping stuff? What is happening?

Judy-- I missed your birthday. sad.gif I hope it was your happiest one yet!

I was at church today with the family, then we were off to Scout camp, only this time I had to run my part of the check-in by myself, as hubby and The Son are at camp this week as Scout Master and camper. I hope they have a fun week.

Note the time of my post. I don't sleep well with hubby not here. I really hope I can survive the week without getting sleep deprived. May have to go back to taking my Ambien. I haven't needed it much at all since my hysterectomy.......

The house looks nice. My new flooring is so pretty and the guys that put it in did a great job. The crew re-doing our back porch came today and did the dig-out and framing. Hopefully we can pour before the end of the week, but not sure as the guy in charge of the staining and pattern for the concrete is in the middle of a big job and has another big job right after it.....

I want to add that the PB&J game I saw on the PBS show Zoom. I figure if they do it on there, it's up for grabs, right? So, play away!

It's really fun if the instruction giver doesn't catch on and start giving really explicit instructions like, "Pick up the loaf of bread in one hand, undo twist-tie with the other. Open the bag, take out 2 pieces of bread and put them on the plate......" Instructions like, "Put the bread on the plate, then put the peanut butter on the bread." are a whole lot more fun, cuz then the 'obeyer' has a plate with an entire bagged loaf of bread sitting on it and the jar of peanut butter sitting on the loaf of bread!

So, ya'll have fun!

Glad to see you back Flashymom! So it's just you and the princess this week, huh?

I understand about sleeping without the hubby. When he went on his Emmaus Walk in March, I thought I was going to go loopy! You would think with no child and no husband I would be on cloud nine with the house to my self---instead I was sooooo lonely (after the first few hours)

Glad to see you back, Flashymom - thanks for the b-day wishes but trust me not a happy day more the stuff comic tragedies are made of. sad.gif

Son person is in Canada for the week and the house is all mine - I love the time alone since I don't ever seem to get the chance to be completely alone ever for more than 4 or 5 hours at a time. This week is no cooking, getting my house clean and not having to worry about anything. If the rl sisters cooperate, all should be good. Have never known my sisters to cooperate, though. wink.gif

Glad you're happy with your floor - sorry you miss your husband. When I was first divorced I had a horrible time sleeping alone and I remember the sleepless nights well.

Instead of Ambien have you ever tried benadryl? I took some for an allergic reaction I had to a spider bite this week - best sleep I've had in months with no side effects.

I have to remember about Benadryl. Makes me sleepy, too, but usually feel more groggy the next morning than with the Ambien.

I've never taken Ambien - but you're right about the benadryl. I think part of my mood yesterday may have been the side effect of a couple nights worth of benadryl in my system. I was more than a little weepy yesterday for lots of different reasons but I think that the benadryl may have compounded the problem.

As I already mentioned JudyG I am late to the ff part of this forum and I just finished reading Ch. 4 of this and it is very good and I'm enjoying it. Great character, great s/l, loved the "You're fine" bit. Literally lol at that and this last line from Logan:
"Alright, turn her loose," Logan tapped Bobby on the shoulder, drawing the couple apart. "I need a chance to warn her of all your faults before it's too late," he told Goren with a good-natured chuckle.

"She already knows all of my faults," Bobby told his friend.

"And she's marrying you anyway? Hell, you are one lucky son of a bitch."

I can just hear him saying it. It is so something he would say. Love it. Cn't wait to read more. I guess if Goren was studying Janice's photo then she's probably not Nicole but I'm going to keep reading to find out. Thanks for the good read.

No, no you don't, hullbound. smile.gif

Oh my. ::faints:: I saw this on the first page yesterday but didn't read. Shame on me. Now I read it to see what was being talked about. I need a cold shower or maybe Bobby to whisper in my ear but that would cause me to need a cold shower, wouldn't it. ::faints again::

Bobby leans over and whispers into cifan's ear, "I'm right here, cifan, and I'd looove to take a shower with you."

Thank you, Hullbound, for bumping this on top! I read only two chapters today. Amazing! I like the way you portrayed Bobby and Charli. I’m glad she was there for Bobby at the times of trouble. Excellent work, Judyg and spookycc! I’ll be reading the remaining chapters soon. Oh, I liked the magic fridge! smile.gif

Oh my. Bobby better hold me up or I'm gonna fall over right on the floor. Them pillows are still there, I assume. I never thought I would see the day where I would be showering with Bobby. ::sigh::

Of course Bobby is still here - why else would all you ladies still be hanging out? Is it my charming personality and good home cooking? tongue.gif

Thanks DrEm - if it weren't for spook, cifan and cluck this story would still be sitting on my laptop - I was much too uncertain to share my writing with anyone. Most everyone has been so supportive that this had turned into a 'dream of a lifetime' for me. I could never share this with anyone in my real life - they wouldn't understand and I was much too shy to let anyone read my stories before.

Make sure to lock the door - there's a lot of us waiting for a turn and I do only have the one bathroom! laugh.gif

JudyG that was really good. When I read "Hello Bubby...." lol woohoo it was Nicole. I like how you had us wondering then Bobby sees Janice's photo and doesn't recognize her so I think it's not Nicole. Well of course Nicole would kill her and steal her identity! Duh<--Me. Great ending! Take that Nicole! Love your Logan because he is just Logan-perfect as are all the characters.

You cheeky little thing-ending the story before the babies were born.

That's Ok because there's a sequel yay!!!!!!! I can read it tomorrow while hubby is at work.

If Bobby is joining everyone for showers, I'm #2 on the shower list!

No one wants to use the other bathroom to shower if Bobby is in that one, anyway! tongue.gif

Thanks Hullbound, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Shattered awaits - still a few more chapters to go until the end - but tacos, cheesecake and friends abound! biggrin.gif
