Interesting? I don't know about that. Hectic, crazy and different would be good definitions. tongue.gif I still have movies that I haven't watched (VDO movies!) can you believe it? It seems by the time I can sit and relax something else happens. The few hours I get to spend here are heaven to me. Just to not have to deal with work or rl for a little while.

The man who lives with my sister and brother-in-law that is ill, is declining very fast. He won't be able to go on vacation with the family when they leave next week. Sister is staying home along with her daughter and the daughter's husband because the baby is so close to being due. My sister's biggest fear is that either "E" will die while everyone is in Canada, my niece will have the baby OR both. My sister does not handle emergencies well - so guess who she'll call?

Auditors are at work and I need to do my sales breakdowns for the 2007 year. I got the first quarter done today in between everything else that needed to be done but need to have at least the 2nd quarter done for Monday when the auditors will be back. And then I have to work the country store on Sunday.

My boss (the President/Owner of the company) heads off to the hospital on Monday and will be out for at least 1 to 1 1/2 weeks. I'm hoping for time to catch up on the rest of the audit work the beginning of the week and maybe have time to catch up on filing and organizing my office while he's gone - fingers are crossed.

Hey I have VDO movies I still haven't seen and now with Spook working on shows for me, them movies will hold off a little longer. We just need more than 24 hours in a day.

Sorry to hear about "E's" health. Sending some prayers your way. The way life goes, everything will probably happen at you at once. At least your sister knows she can call you for help if she gets in a jam. I don't handle emergencies well either. I don't know what I would do in one if it ever happened. wink.gif

Can they give you any more work to do? Sounds like my job. They expect you to do 5 peoples work in 1 day. Doesn't happen. Does that mean we need to leave you alone? wink.gif

Filing, ick. I hate filing. My computer desk is full of paper I need to file away. Good luck with that one.

QUOTE (TennesseeCIFan @ Jun 7 2008, 10:03 AM) *
Unforunately in my office, I have to keep EVERYTHING for about 7 years. Forunately I have a part timer come in during 1st quarter and clean out the file cabinet and send the other stuff to storage--otherwise the paper would take over my office (yeah we kill a few trees at my work!)

I know about that 7 year rule. I have a filing cabinet full of 7 years of taxes and 7 years of bank statements and a computer desk full of papers I need to file into the filing cabinet. Ick.

We kill way too many trees where I work. We are one of the biggest property management companies in PA - right now we have 20+ clients. My job as the "Executive Assistant to the President" simply means - give it to Judy, she'll do it. sad.gif Besides the work I do for my boss (who is a wonderful man), I also oversee the sales department for our major community, along with doing the closing documents for any park model home sales we have, along with their payables and keep track of all the in-house financing we may have. I over see the country store for the same community in the summer (May to October), along with working it on weeknds. (and their payables, deposits, shopping for inventory) I have my real estate license and just started overseeing rentals for another client we manage. In addition I do the bank recs for ALL the communities we manage (20+ communites and 3 or 4 bank accounts per community). Yeah, I'm a bit busy laugh.gif . I do love my job cuz it's always something different but there are days I'm so mentally exhausted I can't see straight.

I have said I need more hours in a day and more days in a week. No one's given them to me yet though. wink.gif I abhor filing- it will wait until I have absolutely nothing else to do, which means I haven't filed properly in about 2 years.

Thanks for the prayers for 'E' - the thought of losing him is very painful - especially for my son and my sister's children. With both E and his brother being perpetual 8 year olds, they are like little brothers to all 3 of the kids. My son didn't know they weren't actual family members since they've been with the family since before my son was born. The twins have an acceptance of them that is amazing - at 3 their mastery of sign language is amazing AND their unconditional love for both E and his brother gives me hope for our future. smile.gif

AND - please don't leave me alone. This is where I come to talk to my friends and relax. If I didn't have you, spook and the other ladies, I'd lose it.

I surfed the name ‘Nicole Wallace’ on google today. When the results came up, there are a lot of women with that name. Some are brunettes, auburn-haired, but no blondes. NW is pretty common for a name.

When I saw this result ‘Nicole Wallace’ on google; I wanted to add this on my last comment and didn’t want to see the ‘edited by ldynpnk’ line every time I edit my comment, so I deleted it and posted a new one along with the different NW women comment. Good point, flashy! But then he wouldnt be canon-Bobby. tongue.gif

I know but it seems lately and futre wise, it will be more you helping than Judy. I have all the movies and CI I need for now, that is. I am just waiting for her RL to calm down for that 1 movie I am waiting on. Geez can't even remember what it is now. blink.gif

You really are in the boonies. No siren? Even when I lived in the boonies long ago, we still had sirens that went off when there was a warning. laugh.gif

I was happy to send the X-Files season 1 your way to get you hooked, and now we'll have even more to talk about. tongue.gif I'll always let you know when I can only do one season, as opposed to 4 or 5 seasons, cuz that gets kinda cost-prohibitive, even if you only count shipping. smile.gif

I don't know that we don't have sirens. But when Huntington County had a tornado warning the other night, we didn't have any sirens going off that I could hear. mellow.gif

Sounds like my job. I'm the commerical traffic director for our 6 radio stations, plus I do A/R, month end and more reports than I can shake a stick at. Most markets have two people doing my job, I seem to be the exception. So far, I hold my on, but there are days that if I don't work 9 to 10 hours, I would be so far behind. . . . I soooo look forward to the weekends and my time here--no one asking me fifty million questions, or expect everything right now!

I worked in an office (market research, as a supervisor) some years ago. In addition to monitoring all 75 PM interviewers 3-8% of their time, we had to answer the phones, run reports, manipulate sample and return hard appointment calls ourselves, with 2 of us. And I did payroll for the whole branch of 100+ interviewers. I love NOT working in an office environment anymore. tongue.gif

Toddlers don't surprise me much anymore. Them falling and bumping into things and not getting hurt is amazing but sign language, not so much. biggrin.gif

Okay here's my pathetic story.

My computer has taken over everthing. It is not working for some reason. I have NO email, and the site is not working. Well the site is working but I cannot get into the message boards. Weird. I use Firefox and it is telling me Firefox's server is down. I went to use my daughter's laptop and I hate laptops and it wouldn't even work. So I took a 10 minute drive to my mothers house and here I sit on her laptop doing this. Not sure how long I will be around but we'll see. Even my mother's internet was down and we called her internet provider to get it working again. I may have to do the same thing with my internet provider. Gee whiz. May not be here tomorrow night if my internet doesn't work. sad.gif Just letting you guys know.

This is why I came over to my mother's house to post a little bit. My last post was at 11 thsi morning and if no one had 'seen' me all day today or tomorrow, I knew people would worry, especially you and Spook. I told my hubby I had to at least come and let everyone know what was going on and why I might not be one. I am hoping to fix it tonight or tomorrow. Now that I have fixed my mothers internet with the help of her provider, I have a couple of ideas on how to fix mine. Gonna try a couple of things when I get home.

Yes, I'll PM ya. Give me a minute. smile.gif

I would definitely worry if you weren't on-line for an extended period. I always look for certain folks and you are among the first. We're getting some nasty thunder and according to the radar I've seen, we have some nasty storms headed this way so I'm not sure I'll be on-line much longer tonight. See I kinda figured. We were just talking about this the other day. When one is not on for a day or 2 we worry about each other. The 3 musketeers. Now it is time for Spook and I to worry about you. You have worried about us enough. You stay safe and go to a basement or small room in your house.

I don't shower when it is lightening outside. They always say not to and hubby says it's alight but I know better. Electricity is nothing to fool with. unsure.gif

My basement is a damp, dark scary place so I steer clear of that on a good day. I don't think I'm in any real danger - just a thunderboomer on my end no tornadoes. huh.gif

Internet is back. Woohoo. Of course I would rather be sitting in the living room with the laptop. Darnit. Get a taste of it and like it and now the wireless internet won't work but the desktop is fine. I want to sit in front of the TV and type. This is definitely something to get hooked on. biggrin.gif

I love my laptop. I need a newer one with more memory since I have a $400 special but it serves its purpose until I can upgrade. If I still had a desktop, I'd be secluded in our back room with no access to the TV so I probably never would have found the forum and all my friends. biggrin.gif Now all I need is the wireless option - ::fingers crossed that it will happen soon::

I need to invest in my own laptop in the future, especially with me going to Florida next year for a week. I sure cannot take my desktop. Won't work. I turned on my daughters laptop this afternoon to try it out and I got a bunch of surprises. It automatically signs her into all 3 instant messengers. I had to sign out of all of them. She has a 'Gossip Girl' wallpaper. That was different. Mine used to be 'Smallville' but now it is 'CI'. It is interesting seeing her laptop and what it does. I don't think I have used it in a year or so. She has changed a lot of stuff on it.

My son just bought himself a new customized laptop a few months ago for college and I'm so jealous - it has all the bell's and whistles you could ever need. I want him to 'build' me one just like it through Dell when I have the money - I used it the other night for a few minutes. His wallpaper is a scene from the old "Emergency" TV show - (he's an EMT working his way to becoming a paramedic). I had to laugh, since I expected his girlfriend or a 'pin-up' of some sort. Mine is VDO in the BTSOH and son will just roll his eyes when he sees it.

Now - this is a young man whose room is completely covered in John Wayne memorobilia (sp), he has almost 100 JW movies, collects his favorites TV shows and movies on DVD along with any associated toys/action figures - but I have a VDO fixation and he thinks there's something wrong with ME? blink.gif What's up with that? tongue.gif

You think he would 'build' one for me. I am not sure on Dell brand though. My mom and my daughter both have Acer's and they both work very well. I might go that route.

Your son and my hubby would get along well. Hubby LOVES JW everything. My daughter loves a few of his movies, the funnier ones.

Hubby doesn't understand why I have to have seasons of shows. He loves SVU and L & O but he watches the reruns on TNT and USA all the time. He says he doesn't need the DVD seasons. Whatever I tell him. I think we are in the same boat. He says I spend too much money on TV crap. Too bad I tell him. This is me, he gets his crap too, whatever it may be. He has been trying to buy a boat for 3 years but something keeps breaking everytime we get some extra money. Happens every time. This year it was the washer/dryer and the son's ceiling and the car and the truck and new beds. The list goes on and on and on. We are hoping nothing else goes wrong as Uncle Sam's check hasn't come yet. ::crosses fingers::

I won't be online tomorrow. Not sure if I'll be back in time to watch Purgatory, either, but will get hubby to set the dvr. Hoping I can be back for the after party and discussions.......

On Monday, the work crew is coming to prep our home for new flooring! YAY!!!!! BUT, this means I won't have access to computer/email for a while. May go to Library and log on there to check in here, but prolly be off-line until Thursday or Friday. We might even go check into a hotel....maybe teh big casino down the street with the great pool -- kids would love it...I'd be close enough to check on the work easily.

Anyway, just wanted ya'll to know so's you wouldn't start to worry about me! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Just reading about your job exhausts me!

I'm praying for "E" and your family, too. Its so great that your family took him and his brother in. It reminds me of a client I took an application on a few years ago. He was a Laotian man in his 60's, developmentally delayed and very childlike. When he was 5 years old, his family abandoned him because he "wasn't right". He had a playmate the same age and that boy's family took him in and cared for him. When they came over here, he came with them. Now the playmate's grandchildren are taking care of him. He's just part of the family. That was one of the times I almost cried while I was in their home.

The more I read about Janice the more I think I know who she realy is.
For one thing,Charli hasn't known her for very long, and Bobby has never meet her.
And she keeps advoiding him, when Charli tries to set up a meeting with her. She's also
an older woman,and I think she's also a teacher.
Janice has also said some alfull things to Chairli; that Bobby didn't love her and
the only reason he married such an unatrive woman was because she was pregante.
In all these cases it's Bobby that knows her.

I think my guess is pritty crazy. But here goes. NICHOLE WALLICE!!!!!!!

I have an Acer laptop right now and it works great except I bought a low end special when Acer first came out so it's time for an upgrade. I rarely have a problem other than my dial up connection and not enough memory to download new programs.

My son thinks my VDO/LOCI 'fixation' is crazy but when he thinks about it and realizes I don't really splurge on anything else, I don't drink, smoke or go out much he's OK with it. His interests are so varied that for him to focus on one thing would be impossible at this stage in his life. I have to keep reminding him that I'm not 21 anymore and enjoy 1 thing at a time. laugh.gif

I think there's a way to go on line and check the status of your check - i can get the website address if you'd like me to. One of the girl's in my office kept checking for hers so I know she has it.

Thanks ciaddict - my family is pretty amazing, imo. smile.gif 'E' was prone to temper tantrums before he became ill - with the strength of a full grown man and the tantrums of a child, it wasn't pretty and could be very dangerous for my sister, since he seemed to focus his anger on her. Since he has become ill, he has mellowed and become very affectionate towards the twins and my sister. I think I told how my 3 year old great nephew will hold his hand when the nurses give 'E' shots, tell him good job AND he never leaves without giving 'E' a kiss good-bye.

It's amazing, isn't it? That one's family 'burden' becomes another family's blessing? Your Laotian client was blessed to have found a family that gave such unconditional love.

I love my Acer other than some minor problems. See below.

I only fixate on LOCI, Smallville and now the X-Files. I also fixate on Medium and Kyle XY and Crossing Jordan. That is about all the TV I watch. I just don't have the time to watch much else and I am always blocking out my surroundings when I watch. I always fixate on the shows. My daughter was a year old and I was having marriage issues with my ex. Took us 2 years to get divorced and everything settled. That's probably why.

Now, we got our federal check. We are just waiting on that extra money the government is sending to everyone. Can you check that status online? If so, give me the website. I had it at one time but misplaced it. I have only had to use the website a couple of times in the past.

Well I am glad people worry about me and I can worry about other people. I have absolutely no social life, except for the poeple I talk to at work and I consider a couple of them friends but outside work we don't associate. Outside work, it is here and family, that's it.

I always look for my 2 musketeers first and then other regulars after that. I always pay attention to who is in and who is not.

I ended up unplugging my modem and plugging it back in and that worked for my internet. Don't ask me what that did but it worked on my mom's internet too. She wasn't able to access the internet for 2 days before I got there.

I have an Acer computer. Bought it last June or July. It has Windows Vista which I absolutely cannot stand. It was one of the first computers with Vista in it and one of my issues is my computer keeps shutting down in the middle of whatever I am in and restarting. Sometimes once a day, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. Real pain in the a$. Computer only costs me $650 computer and monitor both. Not bad and it was on sale. I don't know if the Vista is the problem or the actual computer is the problem. We don't have the extra money right now to have it looked at and if we had it looked at if they would find the problem. I don't want charged for something that can't be fixed or found. huh.gif My daughter has an Acer laptop and she has had no problems with it other than she has no word processing program. A friend of mine at work's son had to install a word processing program into my computer (nope not one in mine either) and her laptop.

FM, you will be missed tonight. Am I the only seeing the episode out of us 3 early. I never asked if Indiana was in the central or eastern time zone. I am going to be lonely if I am the only one on at 9 pm after I have seen it and be a lost puppy not knowing what to do or what to say. sad.gif

I am going to be lonely if I am the only one on at 9 pm after I have seen it and be a lost puppy not knowing what to do or what to say. sad.gif

I used to watch SG-1 every week and have all 10 seasons on DVD. I am a HUGE 24 fan but didn't miss it when it didn't air due to the strike this year. I CANNOT miss an ep of LOCI - this show has me totally hooked.

My Acer has been great other than the memory issues, really, especially for the price I paid. I wouldn't have a problem recommending them to anyone. I 'borrowed' the software from work to download word/excel, etc. onto my computer. It doesn't seem to be a standard feature anymore and you have to pay mega bucks to get the programs. My then 'supervisor' had no problems with any of us installing the software on our personal computers, which was great - it also means I can remote into our server from home and work on my off hours if need be.

It appears the website is the same as to check the tax refunds (www.irs.gov) to check for the incentive checks as well. I haven't visited it but the two girls in my office were there everyday until they finally got their checks.

I do believe you are the only one seeing the ep earlier. spook and I are both on the same time zone (EST) if I'm not mistaken. (You can tell us what the 'good words' are that Eames says to Bobby) smile.gif

This place has been a blessing to me - I have made some wonderful friends and wouldn't trade any of you.

I woke up today with Charli talking to me but she's not happy. Not sure what to do with what she's been telling me though either. sad.gif

Thanks for the website. I'll check it out. ETA: Checked it out and we aren't getting our check mailed for a couple of weeks yet. Geez.

I am the only one. ::cries:: How am I supposed to tell you both anything about the episode if you are both offline and watching the episode when I get done watching? I can PM you both if you like when it's over. Just let me know and also PLEASE tell me what you wanna know. I sure don't wanna tell anything that doesn't want to be known.

I think I am gonna nap now. I am gonna need it, especially if I am staying up late tonight and working a 12 hour day tomorrow. sad.gif

I really want to be forewarned if Alex says anything 'shippy' to Bobby - I'll need to have a bucket ready for my sick tummy. unsure.gif But since I'm 99.9% certain that won't happen, I think I'm safe. Her 'good words' are probably 'welcome back'.

I think we are all seeing it at the same time. 8pm my time which is 9pm your guy's time, right? I asked in the 'Purgatory' thread but I am still lost and confused. I think the central and eastern time is seeing it at the same time. 8 my time, 9 yours. Aahhhhh! blink.gif

I'm the same way, which is why I soo love this place. You guys are my friends, since I also am a little anti-social and don't have many friends in real life.

Ok, so today, I've woke up with crap trying to take over my head, I've got church and a cub scout leaders meeting prior to the party and episode tonight----why do I suddenly feel exhausted?!?!?!?

I would never have guessed you were anti-social IRL, TCIF. You're always so friendly here. I'd be exhausted just thinking about those meetings and stuff. tongue.gif

QUOTE (cifan70 @ Jun 8 2008, 11:35 AM) *
I love my Acer other than some minor problems. See below.

I only fixate on LOCI, Smallville and now the X-Files. I also fixate on Medium and Kyle XY and Crossing Jordan. That is about all the TV I watch. I just don't have the time to watch much else and I am always blocking out my surroundings when I watch. I always fixate on the shows. With me liking the sci-fi and weird and out of the ordinary things, don't ask me why I never caught the X-Files 15 years ago. I was 22. What was I doing at 22? ::thinking:: Oh yeah.

I really only fixate on LOCI, but also love SVU and House a lot. I'm starting to watch Without a Trace in reruns, at a client's house while I'm cleaning, but it hasn't really taken hold yet. I was a rabid X-Phile back in the day (I didn't get hooked until Season 4), and lived at atxf, which was the X-Files newsgroup. You guys are SO nice compared to them back then! We were SO snarky! tongue.gif

cifan, I think your airing is the same time as ours, right? I'll be on just for awhile as soon as the ep is over, and then I hafta go to work.

I can't see where anything could be said that's beyond FRIENDshippy. I'm fine with FRIENDshippy, just like I am with Stabler and Benson on SVU. I'd love to see a hug. I just don't want kissin' and boinkin'. tongue.gif Goren and Eames hardly ever talk to each other outside of work; if they're hiding a romance, they're REALLY good at hiding it. wink.gif

I think that's correct, cifan. I just remember putting comments in spoiler boxes for the west coasters, so theirs must be on later than ours...

I am glad we are SO much friendlier than your other group. I try to be anyway. smile.gif

I would be so cool with a hug. I would be outta my chair if that happened. smile.gif

I THINK that I remember reading that all time zones are watching at 9 pm in their zone except for central which is 8 pm. So in CA it would be 11 pm our time for their showing. and in OK it would be 10 pm our time. I think that's how I remember it. blink.gif

They are 2 hours behind me, so 3 hours behind the east coast. Are YOU on the eastern time zone? I never thought to ask before. I did in this thread earlier but you never specified, I assume because what Judy said about you and her being in the eastern time zone was correct. I don't know where the heck the time zones cut off. I just figured you were in the same one I was. Confused again. blink.gif
