Nice article about one of David's trips to St. Jude Hospital.

David St. Romain Visits St. Jude

David St. Romain with St. Jude patient Amanda.

David St. Romain, of Nashville Star fame, recently toured the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital where he met with a patient named Amanda, who is a very big fan of his. She started off the visit by saying, "I am so happy to see you!" And, they shared a hug and immediately began telling each other stories as if they were old friends.

They spoke about Amanda's journey to St. Jude and each shared their plans and dreams for their futures. Amanda told David she hopes to write a book one day and about her plans to help raise awareness about childhood cancers and other diseases. He shared with her his hopes for his future writing and singing career.

Amanda admitted that she was learning to play the guitar, and David in turn handed her his guitar to play a few chords while he gave her some pointers. He then performed a few songs for her.

After visiting with Amanda at the hospital, David toured the Memphis Grizzlies House—one of the housing facilities for St. Jude patients.

All-in-all, it was a fun and informative day for David and a day Amanda will always remember.

Meet St. Jude patient Asia! She is 9 years old and is the Country Cares Featured Patient for April.

That is wonderful for the children suffering with cancer to have celebrities come and visit. It must brighten their day! Thanks for the heads-up on this. Good for your s-in-l.

Thanks 'toon',
A little side bar about this particular story..... David had already gone to St. Jude the week before to visit and play for the patients. However, this young lady missed him on that occassion and was pretty upset that she didn't get to see him. So David went back to Memphis the following week to spend some speical time with her. It was an awesome experience for both of them.
I am proud of ALL of these outstanding artists that take time out to 'give back'. Randy Owen dedicates his time, talent, and money to St Jude and is an inspiration for DSR and all of us. I, for one, will always support these artists that give of themselves unselfishly and hope that everyone else will too!
Thanks again and keep watching for more from DSR.......... smile.gif

Oh, wow..even more special. Must say it puts tears in my eyes for him to go back to make her day!! Very, very touching!! That's what makes celebrity worthwhile is brightening others lives. Thanks so much for adding the side bar. I am sure as a father of a little girl (your *granddaughter), emotionally it hits him hard to see other children struggle to with their health.

(You have a nice family there.)

*She was adorable on NS!!

Thanks so much for the kind words. I miss them so much since they moved to Nashville but I see them often. Bailey (granddaughter) and Elizabeth (my daughter) have gone with David to St Jude a couple of times. They feel so blessed to have a healthy little girl and it means so much to them to bring a little joy to these children and their families that are going through so much. Their philosophy is "to whom much is given, much is expected". DRS regularly donates his time and talent to several charitable organizations. And some of these events do get emotional and David always wears his heart on his sleeve.
And, whenever Bailey goes with her Daddy, everyone wants to play with "The Nashville Star Baby"! We really get a kick out of that and she loves all the attention! smile.gif

That is a excellent philosophy to live by. Our town has a little two year boy with leukemia. His folks are teachers and the community is doing lots of fund raisers to help with the expenses. We know the grandparents and they are salt of the earth good people. It just is so hard on all the family, but they are being very positive. It is so nice your family reaches out to these families in their area. It means so much to help brighten their children's lives.

Sounds like everyone remembers Bailey from the show. She was a show stopper, being so cute! She must be a walking and probably talking now......So does she look more like Mom or Dad? Our little granddaughter looks more like her Daddy!

I'm so sorry to hear about the little boy in your community. Have they tried contacting St. Jude? We never know what is in store for our families and everyday with our loved ones is a blessing! I have a saying attached to my computer that I read everyday - it says..."God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage." Faith and hope are powerful as is prayer. I will keep that little boy and his family in mine.
Yeah, everyone remembers Bailey from the show. She is a doll - walking, talking, and stealing the show wherever she goes! I think she has her Daddy's talent (she is a ham) and her Mom's looks. Some people even say she looks like me, which I love! wink.gif Check out DSR's myspace (myspace.com/davidstromain) and then from there you can go to Elizabeth's myspace (The St. Romains) where they have pictures of the family. It's a good way to keep up with all three of them.
Thanks again for your interest in DSR and his little family. I hope one day you can catch him in person!

I went to DSR's myspace...too much graphics for my dial-up. But I did click on the baby photo and it took me to their "private" myspace. So I did get to see your little doll sitting on an airplane seat. Her smile is priceless. She looks like she has a big personality to match her smile.
It would be fun to catch him in person. Our community has things like "Hospice Roping and Roundup" and "Hospital Tri-tip Dinner" where they bring in country singers. Also we have Indian Casinos that bring country singers in. The next one coming is a Trace Adkins concert. So maybe one event could bring DSR to town even! Wouldn't that be cool!

Thanks for the info on the venues in your area. David plays Casinos so maybe that could happen. What is the name of the Casino and where is it located. David could get his booking agent on it! The other events sound right up his alley too. Send any info you think his agent could contact. PM me if you don't want to put it out here.
Thanks again and gald you got to see Bailey's pic. She is quite the little 'jet-setter' racking up alot of sky miles! Some even to MiMi house in Louisiana! biggrin.gif
