1) Solve the trudy case and let the criminal escape. It leaves the pursuit open and allows the healing to begin.

2) Am I crazy to think that 'Troy' might be taking psychology in school and step in with 'Adrian'? Even if on a temporary basis?

3) I think Emmy should have an episode. Maybe someone's after her and the gang is after him, forcing her to deal with it herself. It might be a good place to show she inherited her mothers tenacity. Something with the range of emotions.

4)A star studded episode reminisent of "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world." Something with a lot of big names all in one episode with each one pushing Monk's buttons in a different way while competing for - whatever. Think Areosmith vs. Chevy Chase vs. Danny Devito vs. The Chinese Martial Artist Orphan Twins meet Mr. Monk (I made the twins up. You can't book them.)

5) Varla. I put her in a fanfic and the readers all responded. Even a cameo would be nice. Maybe she needs help and comes to get Monk. But really - you cant be done with this yet. It's still funny and more is welcome.

Thanks for listening!

To the written words... <sigh> Life makes no sense.

Hi Bubba here, I would like to see more of the great show, we came to love.

A musical episode biggrin.gif I had this idea years ago and now that a lot of other shows are doing it they could do it on Monk, too. Jeff Beal is brilliant with original songs, which he proves on Ugly Betty and I think he could really come up with some nice songs for that episode. Maybe Monk is not the kind of show that would do an episode like that but then again a lot of other serious shows are doing it. I would certainly enjoy it smile.gif
micheleNasser
I would love to see a flashback episode, with Monk dreaming or remembering scenes with the guest we had during all seasons, or flashbacking strong, sweet and important moments that can help Monk to solve trudy´s murder, or even mixing up these two ideas in one whole flashback episode.

I would love to see an episode with singing and dancing. I don`t know how they would do it but I know they could. Maybe they could go undercover on Dancing with the Stars ! LOL laugh.gif

I think it would be great to shake things up a little bit. I think I would like to see Monk get his own office in police headquarters. He would be there the first three days solid just cleaning and just happen to look into some unsolved cases he comes across and solve them all. LOL

Oh yes Dancing with the Stars is a great idea ...but there's a one problem...Monk as a fictional character isn't a star...he'a a detective that's the fact.

A musical Monk. while a fun idea, sounds cliche. It's been done -- a lot. Sorry. Just my opinion.

I would like to see an episode where Natalie's husband's "cowardice" charge is established to be false.

Hm. I wonder if Monk could prove that?

I really love to see IN an episode the day Monk asked Trudy to marry him. It would be nice.

my friend and i have an idea for an episode:
someone could get killed by a lift bridge. There was a boat coming and they needed to life the bridge and someone is tied under the bridge and it kills them. just an idea!

I would love to see (maybe as the last episode - the second-to-last being the Trudy Murder solved) how our favorite characters are getting on in, say, then years.

Monk and Natalie would have to go undercover on Dancing with the Stars. I haven`t heard of some of the stars that are on . Maybe they could make up something, like Monk is some big star from another country. Monk and Natalie would then preceed to solve the Murder. Maybe one of the dancers could be the victim , then Nat and M could be their replacements. I know, it needs some work. tongue.gif

Hi, there

I would like to see one episode were they placed a surprise party to Monk´s birthday. I have never seen they mentioning his birthday, or celebrating it anywhow.
So, some "friend", among the presents, gives him a message, a note, a piece of paper, something that carries a big clue about Trudy´s murderer. And, off course, he goes after it.
At the end, thewy could have an endeering moment between Monk and Natalie, revealing the growing relationship that is there.

.....hmmmm....dunno if the writers would like to perform this last idea, but the Birthday is a plausible one, I think.

I came up with an idea for a Monk episode:

Mr Monk and the Boy Scouts

Monk fills in as a Troop Leader for Leland (he got really sick from the last time out). Disher couldn't do it so he asks Monk for help.

The kids have no idea what to make of Monk...he does help them get badges in Vaccumming, Dusting and Ironing! Monk has to face his fears of nature and teach these kids a valuable lesson in humility!

I wonder if this is a possible one??? Just thinking out loud!

"connections"? is there anyway you could get me an audition? i'm an actress. (i'm doing a musical tonight, it's at the local highschool aditorium because thats the biggest place in town, sad i know)

Mr. Monk and the Missing Assistant
(title needs work, it's too obvious)

Dilivery Man: Natalie Teeger?
Natalie: yep
Dilivery Man: sign here motions to paper
Natalie signs it, the dilivery man wheels in a giant box like the kind a fridge comes in. then he leaves.
Natalie (looks box over): From Mr. Monk? wierd. she goes into the kitchen to get a pair of scissors.
she opens the box, turns around and sets the scissors down on the living room table. as she does this a man reaches around her from behind. they struggle, knock things over, Natalie gets in a few good screams before he knocks her out with chlorophorm. The man who attacked her comes out onto the porch, gets the dolly the delivery man left, wheels Natalie (now in the box) out as the delivery man comes around the corner and opens the back of the truck, they put the box in, jump in the truck and speed off!

Liked this one!!!!

and didn´t like this one: No. They're not. No, never going there. Certainly not going there in the books. I don't think Andy has any intention of going there in the series either. I don't think he did with Sharona either."
-Lee Goldberg on MFP when asked if there were seeds of romance in the Monk/Natalie relationship.

"Well, Natalie is affectionate. Sharona never was. Nataile will hug Monk, she'll kiss him, she'll caress him, she'll take his hand. She treats him like a loving brother. Not as...you know he's still Mr. Monk, she still refers to him as Mr. Monk, but she has an enormous amount of tenderness toward him that Sharona may have kind of hidden in abrasiveness. But it's not sexual and it's not romantic. I still believe that Natalie has grown to love Monk, but as you love an irritating brother or step sibling."
-From MFP interview with Lee Goldberg, Monk series writer and author of Monk novels, when asked why some fans see romance when it's not there.

Thank you! I came up with it a while back and this is as far as i ever got. i toyed with the idea of having a police car come screeching in and Monk jumping out yelling :For the love of god, where is she?, Where's Natalie?!" Stott and Randy grab him as he tears into her house.
Then Natalie's next door neighbor comming in and telling what she heard/saw (played by me! lol! just kidding, she'd be a girl between 18 and 25. A fan, but not obsessed, she gets all her stories fromNatalie)

they should have one with all the Monk message board fans as extras!

I like the idea of monk having to solve a case on a moving train(cross country train ,or commuter) and the conductor did it, and he then killed the engineer because he saw him do it, so monk has to stop the train, from hitting a closed switch, and derailing the train, over a bridge

"Mr monk, and the steel highway"

the conductor is aruging with a broker, and he kills the broker, and stuffs his body in the baggage car.
the engineer sees this and runs to the locomotive cab, but the conductor kills him and stuff's him into the baggage also, but not before the engineer can place a call in,

This is based on a true story.

Mr. Monk and the Black Widow

There is a woman (I shall call her Gazelle (sp) or the Black Widow) She is currently on her fourth husband. Her first husband ran off on her. She began working for a man I will call Bob, she was the maid for Bob and his wife Angela, one day after dinner Angela died from a stomach aneurysm. (Victim #1) Gazelle cooked the meal. Gazelle and Bob got married (I have no idea why) He caught her a few times cheating on him with Tim (husband #3) On their tenth anniversary, Bob died of a brain aneurysm. (Victim #2) (He used to go bow and arrow hunting, the poison gave the animal an aneurysm. funny huh?) She married Tim. This is when my family and I came in; my dad owns his own business, RRA Construction. My mom, my sister, and I would help him build the houses and the tree of us would do the clean up. My dad took the job to build Gazelle and Tim a house. In the end, it was worth at least $500,000 to $1,000,000. We never got a penny! Checks bounced, materials weren't ordered on time by the homeowners, ECT. Towards the end, there were people watching the house. They would stand on the bridge and watch it; there was a man with binoculars and a woman with a telescope that i saw personally. We later found out that the FBI had been watching because Tim was embezzling money from the bank he was the president of. The last day before my mom, my sister, and I were supposed to go in and do the final clean up my dad got a call at 7:00 in the morning, from Gazelle, (she never gets up before noon) she told him not to come into work today. Later that day we found out that Tim had committed suicide (yeah right! Victim #3) he sat in the car in the garage for 10-15 minutes then decided that wasn't working (he would have been barely conscious if he was conscious at all) and shot himself in the head with his new hunting rifle. She had stayed the night at a friend's house and found him that morning at around 8 or 10. Instead of calling the police or a friend, she drove for an hour and a half, picked up her parents then drove back home! She was upset! We went to trial, got nothing. The house was property of Tim's bank in exchange for the money he stole. One day the house was mysteriously vandalized and the bank decided it was worth more to sell it than keep it, So Gazelle bought it back dirt cheap and her and husband #4 remodeled it and as far as we know, are still living there. This time people are saying "who's gonna kill who first?" If Monk were real, I'd LOVE to go and prove she killed them all. They all died when they were starting to run out of money. Coincidence? I think not!

Have one episode idea -- Mr. Monk & The Bridge -- Guy dies mysteriously in his car in the middle of the Bay Bridge (Don't know how -- maybe a delayed death reaction). The city of San Francisco & Oakland cannot decide who has jurisdiciton over solving the murder.

Ideas on episodes for 7th season? I have connections, I will send the best ideas straight to the cast for the writers.

I don't imagine they will use any of this, I doubt they are looking for ideas when they have all those boards full of ideas in their writer's room, and the probably wouldn't want ideas from fans, but I always enjoy these kinds of threads, they are usually so much fun. So, here's a few things I would like to see-

He wouldn’t have to be on Dancing with the Stars, they could just enter a ballroom dancing competition to investigate the murder of a judge or of one of the leading contenders. I’ve been thinking I would love to see something like this since I saw Monk dancing in Wedding. They could have their funny moments with Monk and Natalie being put in the competition and one of the local ballroom dancing teachers having to teach the to dance together and do it well enough to be believable in a competition, and the teacher could be one of those ladies with an acid tongue who has no problem whatsoever telling someone, “You look terrible! Lurching all over the floor like your feet are asleep!” It could be even funnier if she’s trying to explain something to Natalie and has Natalie step back and makes Randy or the captain step in in Natalie’s place to dance with Monk. Also, I can imagine Monk balking and not wanting to do some of the danced, like the Tango, or other dances that would lead to him having to put his hands on Natalie in a way that he’s uncomfortable with, or saying something like, “I can’t do that, I can’t be passionate, not in front of all these people, are you kidding me?”

I think it would be a great episode if ‘the guy’ is a magician, and Monk has to figure out how he did it by figuring out how he did a magic trick. It could be funny if he goes to a magic show and throughout the performance, while Natalie is trying to enjoy the show, he keeps telling her, “Oh, I see how he did that, there’s a hole in the tabletop and the top of the hat, he reaches under the table to get the rabbit…” then magician’s assistant falls out of the ‘cut a woman in half’ box dead or something and he’s like, “…okay I don’t know how he did that.” Maybe he will do the vanishing assistant trick and then a few days later she actually is reported missing.

I would love to see an episode where they are trying to plan a surprise birthday party for him! I’ve posted about it before, how it would be so hard to keep him from figuring it out while Natalie is trying to sneak around and get everything together without him figuring it out, and getting excited because there is a homicide because that will keep him busy while she’s doing things like picking up the cake and decorating the room or getting Julie and some friends to do it. And then, the surprise at the end would be fun, where they jump out, sing the Jolly Good Fellow song and they put the cake in front of him to blow out the candles.
JULIE: What’d you wish for?
MONK: I wished you had warned me about the surprise.

I would love to actually see him have to solve a murder at a general, multi fandom fan convention (so they could have guests from Star Trek, Star Wars, and from some kind of obscure show no one has ever heard of before) with fans wandering around in costumes and things, and Randy could be asking the actors and special guests for their autographs during the interrogations, and posing for photos. If the murder happened during a riot or something where some people were arrested for disorderly conduct, I could see Randy posing with his arm around celebrities while they are standing there with the little ID board hanging around their necks, and the height measuring thing behind them, looking at him like he’s crazy/ There could be some great dialogue in it, like -

MONK questioning a security guard: Did you see anyone come from back here?
GUARD: Yeah, now that you mention it.
MONK: Okay, good. Could you describe him?
GUARD: Sure! He was a guy, dressed up like an alien.
STOTTLEMEYER: Oh, well that narrows it down.

And since I saw Stays In Bed, when they gave the guy who liked ‘tie food’ the name John DeLancey, I have been hoping to see an episode where they are at a convention where the real John DeLancey is doing a Q&A for Star Trek fans and has to be questioned by the gang.

MONK: And you are…?
JDL: I’m John DeLancey… And actor…
MONK: I don’t think I’ve seen you in anything…
JDL: I was on Star Trek, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine *and* Voyager! You’ve never seen me before?
MONK: …Nnno. Sorry.
JDL: I was a great character! I played Q!
MONK: Q? Q what?
JDL: Just Q. I was an omnipotent being! Oh, I was fun, I used to snap my fingers and things just happened, it was like magic, I was always testing them and saving the day and I used to drive the captain’s crazy!
STOTTELEMYER: Yeah, that sounds familiar.

And I am still hoping to see an episode where Monk plays pool! I don’t know why except that I think that he would be really good at it, figuring all of the angles and the math and everything, and because I just think it would be a lot of fun. I think his preferred game would be Nine Ball because you are supposed to sink the balls in numerical order. I think that the blue cue chalk and the talc could potentially drive him a little insane but that he could deal with it once he found out how much he likes pool, and hey, the blue chalk could even provide him with a clue to solving the case, like maybe the victim will have a spot of blue chalk on their clothes in a place they wouldn’t normally get it themselves, like on their back, between their shoulder blades, and it was transferred there from a pool player’s hands.

I would also love to see one where Monk gets kidnapped, but the kidnappers aren’t very good criminals. See, Tony said once that he wouldn’t mind directing an episode, but it would have to be one where Monk gets kidnapped so that he would have limited appearances in it. That was what gave me the idea, but it would give him a chance to direct, too, if he still wanted to, plus, I would like to see the gang trying to figure one out without any help from Monk, to see them all working together and making these connections, showing their own detective skills (In Bumps His Head, they didn’t really showcase any detection skills other than Monk’s). We could see Randy, Stottlemeyer and Natalie all finding clues, making smart observations and good deductive reasoning. And it could be like The Ransom Of Red Chief, where Monk drives the kidnappers insane, getting out of his ropes, cleaning up their hideout, finding some evidence of why he was kidnapped (It could be something like the kidnapper’s child was taken and they were forced to do this to save their child) so rather than escape, they come back and find the place spotless, and he is tied up again, very, very neatly, and he ends up helping them figure out where their child is, just before Stottlemeyer and the gang burst in to ‘rescue’ Monk, then he does the ‘Here’s what happened’ and everyone goes to rescue the child, and the ‘kidnappers’ end up thanking Monk, but wanting captain to arrest them if it will get him to get Monk away from them or make their home into a crime scene if it will get Monk out of there so he will quit vacuuming it all night long and stop scrubbing everything.

Edited to add-

I thought that it might be a really cool episode if some bad guy started trying to convince Monk that he was behind Trudy's murder, putting ideas in his head to make him doubt himself. It would be a great episode to introduce some new clue of information about Trudy's murder, too. But he could start thinking, 'Maybe I'm trying to be sure there is no evidence here (his apartment) to be found, that's why I clean so much. Is it possible that the reason I haven't solved it is because I did it? They usually investigate the husband first for these things, was I ever really investigated or did everyone assume it couldn't have been me because they are my friends? Why was I even allowed to work on the case in the first place?' (Usually they won't allow a cop to work on a case they have any personal involvment in, but one of the newspaper clippings said that Adrian couldn't find any connection between Trudy's murder and another car bombing that took place three months later).

I could imagine him going to the captain and asking him about all of this, asking Stottlemeyer to investigate him, and do a very thorough job, treat him like any other suspect. I could even imagine Adrian turning himself in for suspicion of murder. And while the Captain and all the best detectives on the force are busy trying to convince Adrian he didn't do it, the bad guy could be commiting a murder because the best homicide detectives in the city are busy on Monk's case.

I don't imagine the captain would want to investigate Monk, I don't imagine he would believe that Adrian actually did it, and would really want to prove to Adrian that he did *not* do it, but it might be a pretty cool twist toward the end if, for a few minutes, everyone has to rethink it and they wonder, could he really have done it? Then they could find a way to prove that he didn't do it, some undeniable proof, with maybe a new clue as well.

Wouldn't it be a great twist if Dr. Kroeger's son took over the family business and became Monk's therapist? He helped him in the past when they were buried in the car. That would open up to some great ideas!

Liv, I love all your ideas. And you even have Monk and Natalie dancing -- something for the shippers, unintentional as it may be. wink.gif

But they HAVE to do something for Monk's birthday this year. After all, if he was 49 last season, this is a big year. We need a Monk Bday party. Cake and ice cream for everyone. And a non-flammable spit shield.

Personally, I would also like to see Mr. Monk solve a murder that took place in a coal mine. A coal mine is dark, cramped, filthy, gaseous, cold which would not be to Monk's liking. He would have to go to West Virginia (my home state) to solve that crime though.

Perhaps writers from Monk are reluctant to use ideas from fans because fans might expect to be paid for their ideas. This would be unattractive to writers who can come up with their own ideas without having to worry about any lawsuits or having to increase the show's budget to pay off a fan.

Personally, I don't care. I make good money & mine are for the taking.

LOL! With balloons that say 'Older Than Dirt', or have the Grim Reeper on them saying, "Relax, I'm Just Here For The Cake". The cake can say, 'Happy Halfway To 100!'.

But no, that suggestion of them dancing was in no way meant to indicate that I have taken to shipping them.

A "true" Fan perhaps should feel pride if her or his idea was adapted rather than expect payment for services rendered.

Agreed. That is what I am saying. I don't know what is in the mind's of the writers however.

Personally, I may have had already an episode idea accepted with Mr. Monk Meets His Dad. I had started a thread at the IMDB who should be cast as Monk's Father (no longer post there) two years ago & the episode premiered the following fall. In this thread I also talked about Monk's skin tone (olive -- because people were giving actors who didn't resemble Monk in anyway) & there have been several episodes that played on this fact in which he pretends he is Hispanic. I would imagine it is coincidence (& that I didn't inspire anybody, but one never knows). Anyways,I haven't really thought about it that much.

Okay. There was a thread quite a while back where we were discussing things that Monk could not tolerate or that would make him very uncomfortable. I said that going to the dentist would be very difficult for him. Maybe a year later, the Goes to the Dentist episode came into being. Probably just a coincidence, but in my heart I like to think that *maybe* the writers got that idea here! Who knows? wink.gif rolleyes.gif

I would like to see an episode where there is a time limit and Monk has to solve the murder in a hurry.

For example:

Monk and Natalie are on a subway (I doubt there are subways in SF, so something similar to it), see a man dead and realize the murderer is controlling the subway and Monk only has 45 minutes to an hour to solve the case and catch the criminal before the subway explodes. He has no help except to call the captain or Randy and has access to only whatever is in the subway; very limited materials.

Okay, maybe not that gruesome, but I would like to see Monk have to be put on the spot and use his detecting skills in an allotted time period. I don't know - I'm just curious how Monk would act under pressure.
