I looked to see if this was addressed here previously and didn't find any other threads, so forgive me if this has been addressed already. Are seasons 4 and 5 released on DVD? I cannot find that they are. If not, do any of you know why? Shouldn't they have been released by now? Just curious. Thanks!

Naw they arent released yet.
Not quite sure why, but some shows take a long time to release, its the production companys choice.

LOSVU is coming out slowly but surely, and same with JAG, though JAG has been off air for almost 3 years now and they have only season 1-5 out of 10 out.
LOCI hasnt released a DVD set for awhile now, i'm not sure what the hold up is but it's probably because NBC doesn't favor it.

Okay, I don't know if anyone else has mentioned or noticed this, but I was just on NetFlix checking out their free trial. You can rent DVDs of TV series, so I typed in Criminal Intent thinking they would bring up the three seasons already out. Well, you can imagine my surprise when it popped up that you can get Season 6 for rental. So I typed in just Law and Order and Season 4 and 5 came up as well. I know on Netflix you can get movie downloads on your computer so I thought it might be that, but the icon photo looks like the ones the use for the actual DVD sets. So why does Netflix have access to these DVDs, but not the general public?

That does sound a litle bit illegal. Unless they pay NBC a cut directly. But doesn't there have to be some kind of licensing agreement?

Hi Val, I haven't been posting much. Too busy in real life. However, today we bought a 32-inch flat screen TV. VDO in HD! I can hardly wait.

Omg, a new TV. That is great biggrin.gif When I grow up...I hope to get a 102-inch, lol. LOCi in HD =)
I suppose it wouldn't be a good idea to download the show unless you know it is legal...

I'm a registerd netflix-er and I noticed that. However, I think when you click on the link it tells you "Release Date Unknown, Availability Not Guarenteed".

So, no worries, Netflix is not hoarding the DVDs from us as a part of an evil plan by the Peacock network.

Also, you can download episodes from seasons 1-5 to watch.

Good, because I was afraid I was going to have to hurt someone. dry.gif Just kidding. But thanks for the clarification. It struck me as odd to why Netflix would have the movies since they hadn't been released yet, but I wasn't sure if they had some kind of release agreement or not. I know that you can sometimes download movies on pay-per-view before they were released on video, so I didn't know if this was a similar set-up or not.
