Okay...in an effort to stop brains everywhere from hurting, I'll stow the academic talk. Oy...if you think it's bad now, just wait 'til I'm PsychFanCNY, Ph.D. huh.gif

Of course, when that happens, I'll invite you all over for dinner. We'll have Black Forest ham. And pineapple upside-down cake. I promise it'll be upside down, and won't have been baked in an Easy-Bake oven.

I *love* Tootsie Rolls, seriously, best candy in the world. (Though the 'chocolate' Tootsie Pops are up there too, but just the brown ones... I don't like any of the other flavors)

See, I've got a severe addiction to all Tootsie Roll Pops...well 'cept when they decide to throw in freaky flavors, like pomegranate. Pomegranate? Seriously? Who thinks this is a good idea?

I've never heard of Pomegranate tootsie roll pops, but, again, because I'm so mono-flavor inclined, I tend not to buy them.

laugh.gif TV Production...so "editing" but not the type you're referring to unfortunately.

My brain has been on vacation for the last month so to be thrown back into a classroom has caught me off guard. Higher education cramps my style tongue.gif I like school, really I do, but there are just times when you're like... blink.gif

I bet you'll actually have a lot of fun. I know for me, they kept throwing terms and how-tos at me, and it just didn't click very well until I actually started doing it. Then, it made sense. Same with audio production. I'm very much a hands-on learner, and if the TV production class is worth its salt, it'll be very hands-on, too. smile.gif

My orbital mechanics class will give me an excuse to play with a couple of simulators on my computer...you know, to try out some of the calculations and see them in action, so to speak.

..or maybe that's just what I'm telling myself to justify any time spent playing. laugh.gif

Actually... the Math portion of the GRE is pretty similar to SAT math... not much more advanced than Algebra and Trig... so it's not so bad.

It's the GRE English section that's killer... tons of esoteric vocabulary used for analogies and the like. Seriously, get a GRE study guide just for the vocab (because it's one thing to have a barely there grip on the vocab... but then to need to apply that vocab to an obscure analogy... a bit more difficult). Not the fun stuff about English like grammar and getting information from reading.
sarcasmlove
Wow, I really commend both of you. Goodness, Winky, you're a genius! PsychFan, good luck on your Ph.D studies. I'm still working towards my BA, so I can only imagine some of the things you're having to do now.

Yeah, I know. I mean, my friends make fun of me all the time for dropping obscure words into my sentences, but I know that I'll be facing a challenge with the GRE. From what I hear, I think they have their own special dictionary. Not sure what we can't have words like "banana," "onion," and "Mitchum." laugh.gif

dry.gif You don't say!

Actually, in this case, the MS is a nice intermediate step, because it really introduces me to important concepts, but it does it at a more in-depth level than you'd get on the BS level. Then, by the time I get to my Ph.D., I'm ready to dive into the hardcore research and applications of that research.

Apparently, some people really enjoy racking up master's degrees. I was reading an article today about the current administrator of NASA...he's got an MS in aerospace science, an MEng in electrical engineering, an MS in applied physics, an MEng in civil engineering, and an MBA. That's not even counting his BS in physics, his Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, or the MS in computer science he was working on when he became the head of NASA.

In some ways, I'm just in awe....that's truly pursuing your love of knowledge. smile.gif
