From J.R.'s blog...
- On the possible WWE Hall of Fame class of 2009: "Just glancing at the list of many, many viable and worthwhile candidates one preliminary list might include, in no particular order, Steve Austin, The Fabulous Freebirds, The Von Erich Family, The Funks, the late Houston Promoter Paul Boesch, The Million Dollar Man and Ricky Steamboat. How’s that for starters? Personally, I would add Danny Hodge, Scandar Akbar, and Bill Watts but I am not overly objective when it comes to those that I have admired since I was a kid or those that have helped me throughout my career.
I think it's time. Stone Cold obviously ain't comin' back, and he deserves to be in the Hall. I think Shawn Michaels should induct him because of their matches together, and the whole Texan connection. Dusty Rhodes could be another good option because Dusty gave him his start, and basically discovered him.
But something tells me is the man himself of the blog - J.R. will most likely induct him. They've been best friends for years.

I put my money on JR. I remember those days when J.R would comment on heel Austin matches and stuff. Austin deserves it and that could get him in a Wrestlemania angle to, at least have him commentate or something.

Hi Bubba here, I wouldn't seeing Austin in the HOF.

I wouldn't mind Austin in there, and I think the only thing that could stop it from happening next year is if Austin himself doesn't want to go in yet.

I think it would be perfect time for him to have his last match, and say goodbye to the fans that supported in his own special way.

I agree. Austin really needs to have a BIG final match, and then it becomes truely official he's never returning. None of this one foot in, one foot out stuff on whether he'd step back in the ring.
A big, huge, WrestleMania match, and Austin takes his bow. Instead, we get sproadic appearences, a 'maybe' to stepping back in the ring, etc.
I think had Austin went out on top, we as fans wouldn't be so bothered by this. But he went out with a less than stellar match with The Rock.
It'd be nice to sell him have a big epic 1999-era match, and call it a day.
And guess what? No place better to do it next year than Houston, TEXAS where he'd possibly be getting inducted also, in his home state.

As great as that would be, his neck is in no condition to have any sort of a real match.

Or so he says.
I just saw an interview not long ago where he slipped up, and said he could wrestle full-time for 2 years, if he wanted.
I'm telling you, people give me hell for saying this on so many boards, I don't know nothin', etc.... WHATEVER.
I'm not saying the guy's neck ain't f'ed up, i'm just saying the 'can never wrestle again' / 'can he pick up his kids?' stuff, is alot more kayfabe than people know.
Austin has rejected most of what the WWE has offered, and THAT's what's kept him out of the ring in the last few years. Storylines. Not health.

Not being able to life his kids is pretty much a lie. I haven't seen his movie, but I'm pretty damn sure he's done more physical things in that movie.
But I think in his interview he may have been talking about what he thinks he can do (which is wrestler for a couple more years) and not what the doctors are saying (stop wrestling).

I wanna see austin come back as GM of SmackDown.Teddy Long was ok but i wanna see him at the announce table with cole. That could be entertaining.Coach just needs to be a manager. But i got the perfect way for austin to be introduced as GM.
One nite after Edge has lost and is all pist he isnt world champ he can be out complaining and then Glass Shaters and Austin just walks out with Edge shocked.Austin gets in the ring.Stuns Edge.Stuns Hawkins and Ryder.Stuns Chavo.Vickie tries to run but catches a stunner.Gets the mic and stands over vickie and says...''You and your little wimpy boyfriend arent giving the fans what they want,so i've just been made the New GM of Smackdown, and thats the bottom line cause stone cold said so''! Then he has a beer bash and We got a new GM.

Not a bad idea, but it would be RAW if it happened. Austin's always kind of looked at SD as the "B" show.

yeah i don't think we will see him as a GM for Smackdown. That would be so cool and a huge boost for SD though.

Raw or SmackDown.Which ever he would be better then Regal or Vickie.

Something tells me that Estrada would be moved back to managing, Vickie would be moved to ECW (because Chavo's there), Regal would be moved to SD, or possibly Teddy back to SD... and Austin would take over RAW.
