Truly saddening news.
I always respected the fact that he came here on the boards and conversed with us fans as if he were one of us.
My sympathies to his family and friends.

I am so deeply shocked and saddened by this news. My heart-felt condolences and prayers go to all those who knew and loved him best.

I only knew Mr. Kamel through watching him on television and by what he said on this board, and I feel like I lost a dear friend.

On a personal note, I got to meet Stanley when he came to the USA offices to do his live web chat, and remember how kind, funny, and patient he was during a process that was fairly new for all of us. I'm very saddened that we won't be able to do it again.

Oh no, this is terrible news and so unexpected. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. Stanley was a much loved character on the series and his willingness to come here and post made him a part of our Monk family. He will certainly be missed by all of us.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Sleep well, sweet Stanley; you'll not be forgotten by us. wub.gif

This was shocking. He hasn't been looking too healthy recently and I hold out hope that his passing was peaceful. I am deeply saddened, and my sympathy goes out to his family. He was, by all accounts, a good man and a great actor. One thing I admired greatly, as someone has already pointed out in a previous post, was that he came in here on occasion and posted as though he was just like the rest of us. That was a testament to his character and good nature. He will be sorely missed.

Such a tragic shock to find this news here today. His contribrition will be sorely missed that he made to the Monk show and the lives of the people involved with it, friends and fans alike.
Words seem inadequate to do justice to this sad situation that caught so many unawares. It would seem that he will be remembered as a kind and generous soul who enriched the lives of many.

Yeah, what a shock! I was really concerned when I saw those last pictures of him. His explanation, that he was ill, calmed down my worries a little bit. But what a tragedy! He was sicker than he and we all thought.

I will miss him in on the screen, on the show Monk, and I will miss his very nice postings here on the board.

But I'm very sure, that we MONK-fans will never forget OUR Dr. Kroger!

Goodbye, Mr. Kamel!

Sorry to hear this i'll keep his family and friends in my thoughts.

Thank you Stanley. You did good. And you will be missed. Most men should be so lucky.

God bless all those involved, family, friends and fans. If my heartache is any guide then those closest to him must truly be in pain. Again, God Bless all who survive him.

Oh, goodness . . . I can only echo the shock and sadness everyone else has expressed, and likewise send sincere condolences to his family. He will be sorely missed, as an extremely gifted actor, as an indispensable member of the Monk cast, and as a kind soul who visited us here.

My friend just called me with the news and I was sooooo surprised.
I remember that there was a topic about him looking sick and he posted on it just four days ago.
Rest in peace, Stanley. My heart goes out to you and your family and friends.
You will always be remembered.
I wonder who Monk is going to tell his feelings to: another guy in a coma

Although I sent an earlier message, I would also like to send my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Words were just not coming to me earlier (they still aren't, but it's better). It was just an absolute shock to find. I was just innocently checking out the Monk website, happy to chat along fellow Monkophiles, but rather find this troubling news and find myself sad and heartbroken.

I would also like to send condolences to the cast: Tony, Ted, Traylor, Jason and Emmy. They work such long and grueling hours together that I'm sure they treat each other like family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My whole family and I are huge fans of the show and "Dr. Kroger", and I am so saddened to hear this awful news. My daughter saw the headline on MSN homepage and we came here right away, and I just joined the message board to send my condolences. Our prayers are with Mr Kamel's family. sad.gif

My sympathies to Mr. Kamel's family. As soon as I heard, I came to the Monk boards, because I knew everyone would understand here. We all know what a talented actor he was, and a nice person, as we could tell when he would chat with us. We will all miss Dr. Kroger. I wonder how they will handle this on the show.
Cheechawker
I will miss him. He was a very nice man who enjoyed the blessings in his life and had fun talking with his fans.

Every once in a rare (TV) while, a character comes along who feels like a great friend. That was Stanely Kamel's character for me. I'm not sure why the good doctor touched me the way he did. Perhaps it was his patience and care for Monk. His voice was calming. He reminded us that it's okay to be at odds with the universe as long as at least one person cares. Surely good writing makes for a good show. But, Mr. Kamel brought good writing to life. I will miss him greatly.

I'm absolutely speechless. This is terrible news and a tragic loss for everyone involved with the show.

I just finished watching the episode where Monk loses his sight and Dr. Krogen gives him some professional advice. I was thinking about how much I love his character and how he interracts with Adrian. Then I come here and I discover he passed away. I'm so shocked and saddened by this news.

My condolences go out to his family, friends and all the lives he's touched.

I just heard! Oh wow. What a shock..I had no idea he was 65! Stanley looked like he was in his late 40's. He will be missed.
Liv
There is no question, he’ll be sorely missed by everyone who knew him, or who’d ever had the privilege of seeing him give a character life. He was a great actor and a wonderful human being, and the world will be a sadder place without him.

My mom pointed out to me when I was little and my uncle died that when people die, we shouldn’t be sad for them, especially if we believe in an afterlife, and that we are most likely sad for ourselves. For those who have died, there is no more pain or disappointment, no more fear or anger. They will never get sick again, and they will never lose someone they love again. But the rest of us will probably experience more pain, disappointment, fear, anger, illness and loss, and we will have to do it with one less loved one in our lives. Maybe I was a strange child, but that did make me feel a little better. I was still sad that my uncle was gone, but it was a little easier for me because I believed that he was in a better place.

Stanley had 65 years of life doing what he loved, and he had family and friends, and the love of millions. He left us on a high point in his career, which is the best way to go for an entertainer. He didn’t have to see his career decline, and people all over the world loved and admiored him. You can’t ask for much more than that.

Cheers, Mr. Kamel/Dr. Kroger, and thanks.

I can't believe Stanley Kamel died of a heart attack!!!!!!!!!! It broke my heart!!!!!!!!!! I wonder how they are going to play that in the 7th Season? Maybe they will have him be murdered and Monk ofcourse solve his case.
