- As previously posted, Dusty Rhodes is leaving the WWE creative team to head up Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE's developmental territory. Apparently Dusty came up with the idea and approached Stephanie McMahon about it. It's not a situation where WWE demoted Dusty or he is being punished for anything.
The situation with Dusty had been brewing for sometime as he figured there was no real chance of him being head booker on one of the main shows as Michael Hayes is a lock for SmackDown and Brian Gewirtz isn't going anywhere as RAW's head booker. Dusty had been helping out on ECW but was asking to go to developmental for a few months now. Dusty was also worried about the travel issues and prefers being close to him, which he is now that he's working in Florida. Dusty mainly lives in Georgia but has a second home in Florida. It's also believed that he doesn't want Cody Rhodes getting caught up in the idea that he will get a push because his father is on the WWE creative team. Dusty is also very interested in helping the younger WWE developmental talents.
As far as the future of ECW, WWE creative member Ed Koskey will more than likely remain on RAW but will also be the head writer for ECW. Right now there isn't a main writer for the show and there is little long-term planning. There was talk of having Michael Hayes take over the show but he was worried about becoming burnt out with the job.

Pretty cool that Dusty was playing it straight with Cody, and not wanting him or anyone else to think that Cody wouldn't have to "work for respect".
