- It was announced during the SmackDown tapings last night that the WWE Backlash pay-per-view this month will feature two WrestleMania rematches. Edge will face The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship and Chavo Guerrero will face Kane for the ECW Championship.

Other matches are rumored to be announced are Matt Hardy vs. MVP for the WWE United States Championship, The Big Show vs. The Great Khali and possibly Shawn Michaels vs. Batista. It's also believed that some kind of rematch involving John Cena, Triple H and Randy Orton for the WWE Title will take place.

This year's Backlash pay-per-view will take place on April 27, 2008 from the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

So its pretty much Wrestlemania just a few different rematches. This is where i see Orton dropping the title. I want Hardy to win the US Championship, Michaels to crush Batista, and Taker to retain for this ppv.

that would be awesome

Well we are in the AGE OF ORTON! So i wish they let Orton carry the belt till Survivor series or let JBL get it because i like the Heels as champions, its more bettert then seeing superman cena carry the belt a year straight!

I've also heard rumors that they might be sending Batista to RAW, and HBK to SD as a change of pace.

Damnit I'm barely able to watch Smackdown most days.
Axl
If it happens, it'll be quite a beneficial move for HBK, and a bad move for Batista. HBK would be going to a show, which really only has three bonafide superstars - Edge, Taker & Batista. Batista would be gone, and HBK could actually get out of the 'Main Event Crowded' RAW, and go to SD and actually compete for the WHC.

Batista would be getting an even further step down from the recent lost U.S. title matches, by going to a RAW, which already has Cena, Orton, HHH, JBL, Y2J, Umaga, etc.

I think it would be good for HBK on SD,yea he would really be in the mainevent alot and be a major contender for the WHT.Batista is better off on Smackdown to.I think it should be like this Raw has...HHH,ORTON,CENA,Y2J,JBL,CM PUNK(since hes going there) Maybe Mr. Kennedy could get a push....But Smackdowns main event scene should be UNDERTAKER,EDGE,BATISTA,UMAGA,HBK,BIGSHOW and Batista turn heel to even things out

Batista will slowly fizzle away unless he can pull something out of his ass imo. I'll just have to tape SD from now on. I think it would be awesome to have an Edge vs. HBK feud, or maybe a final HBK vs. Undertaker. But i think we all agree that RAW has to many superstars in the main event.
Axl
The real problem is.... no one wants to go to ECW. The stars look at it as the C-show, and honestly if the mid-card & main event on ECW was guys like Matt Hardy, Chavo, Kane, Benjamin... and maybe a big un like Big Show, if they were to give that show matches & stories, it wouldn't be so taxing on RAW.

RAW would then be able to move some over to SD, and it would even out.

The problem is everyone avoids ECW like the plague, everyone has went to RAW, and it's become one-sided.

But isn't another draft coming very soon?

And that to me says something about the WWE officials being lazy and not really giving a damn about ECW because it may have actually worked as a revival if the WWE spent more time developing it as a product.

Yes i believe it was in the next month or two. Someone posted a topic of it. Thats my guess when the HBK move will happen.
ratedrko1
Yea the draft is expected to be on APRIL 21 because that RAW is 3 hours.Well Kane is no longer on Smackdown, his profile has now been moved to ECW and is now listed on the ECW Roster,so i guess thats official now.But in my opinion SMACKDOWN will be treated better in the fall because it is switching to mynetworktv and expected to return thursday nights,so the 2nd hour will go head to head with Impact so im sure wwe will make Smackdown's roster better this draft and smackdown will be booked better to blow impact out in the ratings and HBK would be a good addition to SD,also maybe VINCE will start being on SD alot more in the fall, will see!

If these happen to be right, I think it will be a great ppv. Undertaker will definitely retain. One thing though is Orton, Cena, and HHH. I'm a huge Cena fanatic and I would <3 to see him with the belt again. As of now though, HHH is the fan favorite and I think they should put it in his hands for a few months and take Cena out of the big story line to try to regain some fans. Oh well, who knows what will happen. Thanks for posting!

Last night, SD started the beginnings of a Batista/HBK feud... so I guess HBK is already going to be on SD.

I hope Batista turns heel,he was getting some boo's last night for what he said,I could see a main event already on SD....EDGE and BATISTA vs. The UNDERTAKER and HBK!
Axl
There's no way they are going to go into this expecting Batista to be face & HBK heel. No way.

People don't like Batista enough, even if in the story he's technically the good guy in this situation. They'll have to play it Batista-heel / HBK-face.

I missed it. It happened faster then i thought it would.

Agreed. Batista should just be a heel in the storyline to instead of having Batista being the technical good guy. HBK will be face the rest of his career whether intentional or unintentional.

Kind of like Flair, HHH, Undertaker, Kane or even Austin.

They are so timelessly loved at this point, even IF being the technical heel, people still love them to death.

Big Show is gradually starting to make this crossover too.
