It was 12 midnight and the squad was just closing a rape/murder case when the phone rang:
Olivia: "benson"
Caller: "this case is not over, there are bodies all over this city and you have the wrong guy"
Olivia: "who is this?"
The phone goes dead
Elliot: "who was that"
Olivia: "I don't know but I think we should go over the case one more time"
Elliot: "I gotta get home Kathy and I got into a-"
Olivia: "I understand "
As Elliot walks out Olivia watches him leave wondering, what if?
Olivia is now alone in the squad room when she gets another phone call but the phone immediately hangs up. After about the third time Olivia calls up Elliot. He answers on the first ring and she tells him what happened. Elliot is staying in a hotel room because of the fight and tells Olivia to come over. She gets there in 15 minutes and knocks on the door.
Elliot: "wats up"
Olivia: "nothing its just...its just... i'm stressing out over this case and my personal life is falling apart I just can't-"
Elliot: "whats going on with you"
Olivia: "I just told you"
Elliot: "no I mean at home"
Olivia: "its a long story"
Elliot: "you can stay here tonight and talk about it"
Olivia: "but theres only one bed"
Elliot: "you can stay in mine"

As Olivia walked passed Elliot she could smell that he had been drinking heavily.
Olivia: "you know drinking yourself half to death isn't going to help you get Kathy back"
In a drunken slur Elliot says "i dont want her back liv I just want you"
Olivia: "el your drunk and you dont know what your saying"
Elliot: "no i've been feeling this way for a long time, why do you think me and kathy argue all the time..." pause... "because were not in love anymore and she knows how I feel for you"
Olivia: "I dont know what to say el...I mean I have feelings for you too but we work together"
Elliot: "I'll quit"
Olivia: "you dont mean that"
moving closer to her and slighty touching her face
Elliot: "yes I do I dont care what it takes I want to be with you"
They begin kissing and Elliot pushes her softly onto the bed while holding her back, just as Elliot takes his shirt off Livs phone rings. She tries to ignore it but it keeps on ringing. She gets up to answer it.
Olivia: "wat-I mean benson"
Caller: is that any way to answer your phone when an old friend calls"
Olivia puts the phone on speaker so Elliot can hear the person on the phone
Olivia: "who is this"
Caller: "maybe you should close your blinds before you sleep with a married man"
Liv and El look at the window, the blinds are open...THEY HEAR A KNOCK AT THE DOOR...

Elliot gets his gun off the night stand and walks over to the door while Olivia stands beind him with her gun...another knock
Elliot: "who is it"...no answer, Elliot whispers to Liv "call for backup" As she calls for backup Elliot puts the chain on the door before opening. He slowly opens the door and sees a woman... its kathy
he hesitates before opening the door knowing liv is there and what they just did, he finally opens it
Elliot: "kathy what are you doing here"
Kathy: "what is olivia doing here"
Olivia: "el just called and asked me to stop by, he said you got in an arguement and he wanted to talk to someone"
Kathy: "well I can take it from here"
Olivia: "fine I guess i'll leave"
as she turns to walk away Kathy calls to her and says "thank you"
olivia: "for what"
kathy: "for being there for him"
Olivia walks out of the hotel room feeling guilty
Just as she put the key in the door someone comes up behind her and grabs her shoulder length hair
Person: "if you reach for a gun i WILL slit you throat"
olivia panics not hearing a word he said and reaches for her gun....

Just as Liv reaches for her gun the backup that she called earlier arrives with their guns drawn at the perp.
Cop:"put the weapon down and step away from the woman now"
the guy stands there quiet and still holding the weapon
cop: "i repeat put the weapon and step away from the woman now"
the perp is choking her and Olivia is now turning blue and feeling faint. she feels herself slipping into a coma and closes her eyes. she hears a gunshot and feels a sharp pain in the back of her head...

Nurse: "yes, the victim is a robert schalls"
El: "is there another victim"

Nurse: "yes the doctor should be out in a few minutes if you want to talk to him, as a matter of fact there he is now."
El approaches the doctor and ask... "is she alright"
doc: "who are you?"
el: "im her partner detective stabler"
doc:"shes fine, she only sustained minor injuries to the back of the head. the perp was shot by a cop and she fell but shes fine and should be eligible for release in less than an hour"
el: "can i see her?"
doc: "right this way"
Elliot walks into livs room and shes sleeping so he sits in a chair and watches her until she wakes up about ten minutes later.
el: "how you doing?"
liv: "im fine, what happened?"
el: "i dont know all the details yet but whoever did this to you is dead now"
liv: "did what to me?"
el: "im not sure but i will find out"
liv: "what happened with you and kathy?"
el: "like what?"
liv: "did you make up?"
el: "not exactly, i kinda told her that i love you and she left"

el:"i dont know but she seemed pretty understanding, she said she already knew what i was feeling"

el: "call munch and tell him not to move until we get there"

munch: "i was just getting ready to call you, me and fin are already here and you wont believe who we just saw"

Elliot sped down the New Jersey turnpike and got to Simons house in 30 minutes
Liv: "wait in the car and let me go talk to them."
El: "no, im going with you."
Liv didnt fight back so El got out of the car, grabbed her hand and they walked to the house together.
El: "I thought Fin and John were here"
Liv:"they are"
El:"where are they?"
Liv:"in that car over there...Liv pointed to the car with her free hand...I told them not to go in"
They reach the door and Liv hesitates before knocking. Two minutes later Simon's girlfriend answers the door.
SG:"Liv!"...she gives her a big hug..."how are you, its been a while"
Liv:"Yea I know, is Simon here?"
SG:"Yea hold on"
Simon comes to the door a few minutes later, gives his sister a hug and invites her and El in.
Simon:"so whats up?"
Liv:"im just shocked to see you"
Simon:"why?"
Liv:"its a long story"
Simon:"start from the beginning"
Liv:"well, someone tried to kill me and tried to frame you"

She helps him take her shirt off. Neither of them heard thier phones ring. Liv was unbuckling Elliots pants when she heard Munch clear his throat and she pushes El off of her not realizing he already unbuttoned her shirt. she turns to see simon, his girlfriend, munch and fin all staring at her.
Liv:"what are you all doing here?" she says alittle embarrased while closing her shirt back
Munch:"well, since you guys didnt want to answer your phones, cap called me"
El:"what did he say" el said while buckling his pants.
Fin:"we gotta get back to new york. they just found out some shocking news about our perp"

They kissed passionately for about five minutes and he gently pushed her back onto the couch. he lay on top of her and she saw his blue diamonds piercing through at her and at that moment she felt safe he kissed her again while she helped him take his shirt off she slowly explored his muscles he quickly unbuttoned her shirt and removed it from her as he felt her breast against him he became erect and swiflty took off his pants and hers liv was taken back by his sudden fast pace and pushed him away without her having to say anything he knew she wanted him to take it slow he finished undressing the both of them and was ready to go in for the kill he took one of her legs and wrapped it around his waist and slowly pushed himself inside of her 'i cant believe this is happening' she thought to herself 'is this for real' he thought as he thrusted inside of her elliot was the happiest man in the world as he made love to the woman of his dreams...elliots phone rings and he ignores it...livs phone ring and after the third ring she answers it out of breath and in an attempt to sound normal with elliot still deep inside of her..."benson...yea we'll be right there"
Liv:"its cragen and he wants to see us now"

Cragen gives him a mean stare..."a little girl was just found in an alley on bleecker street"
Liv:"is she alive?"
Cragen:"barely...get to the hospital now and i mean now detectives"
They rush to the hospital and get there in ten minutes where paramedics are working on the little girl
Liv:"what the hell happened"
Paramedic:"i dont know yet we received a phone call about a dead little girl lying naked in an alley
way
Liv:"who called it in?"
Paramedic:"anonomys"
Liv:"why would someone call paramedics for a dead girl instead of calling the cops"
El:"they must have known she wasnt dead"
Liv:"you mean our perp called it in"
El:"how else would they have known and why wouldnt they have stayed"
Liv:"i dont know but i hope she wakes up soon so we can ask her"
Paramedic:"im sorry detectives but the girl didnt make it"

Paramedic:"there was nothing else we could do whoever called waited too long"

Liv:"im kinda seeing someone right now"
Elliot fell silent and didnt speak for the rest of the ride he couldnt believe what he had just heard.
They pull up to the station and before Liv gets out she hears Elliot slamming his door and sees him walking into the precint she follows behind him.
Cragen:"what the hell is wrong El?"
Liv:"i dont know"
Cragen:"well find out cuz i cant have one of my best detectives upset when he has a job to do"
Liv:"fine i'll ask him when im finished questioning the girl"
Cragen:"did you i.d the second"
Liv:"maria santos"
Cragen:"go see if she knows her"
Liv walks into the childrens interrogation room
Liv:"hey sweetie my name is olivia and im here to help you...can you tell me your name?
girl:"i want my mommy"
liv:"we're gonna find her but first i need to know your name
girl:chanell
liv:"okay chanell can you tell me the last person you were with"
chanell:my mommy where is she?"
liv:"we're gonna find her for you...can you tell me her name?"
chanell:"maria...she helped me when my real mommy left and she said i can call her mommy"
liv:"do you know where your real mommy is"
chanell doesnt say anything she just looks down
liv:"thats okay sweetie...i'll be right back"
liv walks out the room"
Liv to cragen:"wasnt expecting that...what do you want me to do?"
cragen:"talk to elliot we're gonna give her something to eat and maybe she'll have more to say"
liv goes to find elliot in the locker room
liv:"elliot"
el:"what?"
liv:"can we talk"
el:"now you wanna talk...why didnt you tell me"
liv:"i was going to"
el:"when before or after we had sex"
they hear the locker door close
cragen:"both of you to my office now"
