He is only 16 and even though he has been performing since the age of 14 every weekend with the band, I think that it took great courage for him to just show up and audition the first day let alone the pressure of the second day audition up againist the amazing talent we saw in Austin! I'm Christine - I'm a newbie to the Board, although I've been reading for quite some time now. I do have to say that I smile and laugh at my computer when I read everyone's comments. It seems like one big family - fights and all:)

I also made it to "Day 2" in Los Angeles -

I'm sad to say that I dont have a site for ya'll to listen to anything I've done - but I will try to make it a priority to set one up. It would be great to here some feedback. Unfortunately, I have nothing original. I've been finishing up my Master's degree and have put my love of singing on the back burner for too long.

It was such a refreshing feeling to be around people who were so talented and who loved what they were doing. It was a long two days of waiting and "nerves" but it was worth every minute!

I auditioned here in Austin,TX and got asked to comeback the next day to do two more songs off the list, I was surprised that I was even asked to comeback because I lost my voice completely the night before because I had become ill and I was singing with my lil 2 year old boy when it went out on me so walking out with that buckle was totally unexpected. Day two I was still very much struggling with my voice even after drinking a gallon of warm water and downing a whole jar of honey and I had one heck of a sugar buzz going but I tried my best and the judges were all very kind and didn't say any harsh words to me.If I don't make it to Nashville this year I'll try it next year hopefully with a voice at a 100%. It was an experience that I will never forget and hopefully I will be able to use this as a way to show my son to always go for his dreams no mater how difficult it may be to reach.

2nd day callbacks in Nashville via regionals in Portland, Oregon as 1 part of a duo.

We met so many talented and great people at the Nasville audition and callback, that it was worth the trip just for that. Many thanks to the trio at the Nashville palace (three awesome guys with humbling talent) who let us get on stage and show our stuff for the last hour of the night after day 2 was over. The genuine support and comraderie from fellow 2nd dayers was awesome, even if we are not chosen, the trip couldn't have been better, and the people couldn't have been nicer. Thanks all!

Hi NS Board. Hope you'll forgive me, but I've been anonymously "lurking" for a few weeks. I guess you have to, though to get familiar with the process. The information is interesting and informative, the banter is fun to watch, and the personalities are colorful.

I'm Elizabeth Shea's dad and can confirm that she did make the 2nd day callbacks in LA, as indicated by Whiskey Row's post on 3/24. Thanks WVG for your hard work in compiling the list. She has been asked, as I am sure that the other semi-finalists have, not to say anything further until she knows whether or not she is in the next cut. You guys are real enthusiasts about the process, though, and deserve to know as much as you can about what is going on. As I get more info, I'll share what I can (don't want to step on any toes).

My brother in laws made it to second day callbacks in Nashville as well.. their second day audition was set for 7 on Saturday and they didn't get to sing until about 11:30 that night. they are called live wire... Their real names are Bradley, Chadley, and Robby Jordan. Ages 16, 18 and 19. Well actually two have had birthdays since then. So now they are 17, 18, and 20. Sorry I don't have any samples of their music as we don't have a CD any suggestions are very much welcomed

My name is Dana, I'm from Georgia. I auditioned first at the Regionals in Tallahassee, FL. & I made it through to an interview where I was invited to audition at Nationals. I traveled to Nashville, TN on Easter weekened, and made it through to Day 2. I was scheduled to audition at 7 p.m. only to actually audition at 1:30 a.m. the next day.
The judges were very complimentary, and gave me no reason to think that I wouldn't get a call-back. I was told that if I were to make it any further in the competition, I would receive contact within the next 3 to 4 weeks. He said there was quite a bit of video footage they had to review, and it would be at least that long before they could narrow the numbers down. However, this is week 4 and still nothing....
I read a reply from "luckdog" claiming that if anyone made it to the semi-finals, then they would have been contacted already. That really took the wind out of my sails. I wish that they could have at least told me I didn't make it, rather than leading me on, ya know? It sure would have made it a lot easier to explain to everybody. As it is now, all I can say is..."they liked me, but I haven't heard anything"...
I check my e-mails and answering machine like a crazy woman... Couldn't they at least call or write to say, "Sorry...better luck next time"....

Hi Glittering1. They did send out an email. Most people got it, some people didn't. Many got it in their junk mail. I don't know if this is how you do it, but I am sending you this link to where it talked about on the board a week or two ago. My advice is to read through it all the way (I made the mistake of not doing that once and I felt pretty silly afterwards with all the questions I was asking which it clearly answers in other threads I didn't search)

If not do a search for Dorin Offr and a bunch of stuff will come up that might be helpful in understanding. Also, after that review through this weeks posts about casting/audition process and think of it as a bandaid for the owee! *grin* This is something that many others have discusses and reviewed so you are not alone in that feeling by any means. Don't take it personally. Since you did make it to day two in Nationals that is something to be proud of, but remember as you were standing in line that there were 35,000 other people that auditioned for the maybe 11 spots. Don't give up on your dream, and keep singing!

Hi, Dana from Georgia (because we have a Dana So already). I'm sorry my post was the one that gave you the bad news. In 5 previous seasons I never heard of someone getting a call or a notification that they were not chosen. This year, as Brooksy said, there was an email sent out telling people that the group was narrowed to 200. Those that had not been notified they were in that group were no longer being considered. I don't think that would have happened either (from what I read in the email) if there had not been so many things posted here. Mr. Ofir indicated he wanted to clear things up.

I know you felt I was claiming something I really didn't know, but I don't post such things casually. I had been in contact with people I knew from previous years and who knew that the infomation was true unless some fake email had been sent to each one of them.

I hope you'll stay around here, or on the NBC board, or both. If you have a myspace page or a web page with your music up, be sure to post it sometime in a topic here so folks can check you out! It's good publicity.
