I concur! You're post reminded me of what James said in the Popwatch Duel between him and Dulé...
"We do such a lousy job of choosing our celebrities in this country it should be no mystery that we have no clue how to go about electing our leaders either." James all stuck it to the man biggrin.gif

He's so right too! Although I don't want to get into politics right now. Seriously I've nearly had my throat ripped out everytime the subject has been brought up... and I don't even lean one way or the other!! It's gonna be a vicious election year I'm telling ya!

Actually, I am not wierded out because I turned 40 ohmy.gif last October so to me he's young. He could pass for younger though.
tolietducky

sarcasmlove
Indeed.

So, I have all the eps on my computer, but I haven't watched Psy vs. Psy in a little while...and I forgot how "beautiful" James looked in that episode.

I think we should just call him beautiful whenever we refer to him from now on...cause let's face it, People Magazine only backed up our assumptions. tongue.gif

You are so right. He did look awesome in that episode. Maybe that is why I liked it so much. He really is such a good actor. I love they way he reacted when Lindsay asked him to her hotel room, he really seemed genuinely taken aback. It was very real to me the way he reacted. I don't like the fact that he wasted a night "sleeping" with her though. dry.gif Just kidding. I know it's only a show. But anyway, when I first saw James on the show I was actually channel surfing and it was the rerun of the pilot that caught my eye. Yeah, he's a cutie but his personality is awesome and that combined with his looks makes him fantastic. Plus, he is exactly the type of guy I would be attracted to in real life. (please, don't tell my husband I just said that). Then when I saw how many other people love him I was a little upset, no I am kidding, I realized that he has a great quality about him that attracts so many people. He's not just some good looking guy with nothing else to offer, it's the whole package. I think part of it could be that I am in a sort of mid life crisis too. blink.gif mellow.gif I truly thought I was wrong to be thinking he's so great because here I am a 40 year old woman, married almost 15 years, two kids, etc. etc. I first thought am I lacking something in my personal life to be acting like a 17 year old???? Then I figured what the heck, I don't even feel like I am 40, so it's ok. I am just so glad I have this board to "talk" to everyone here about the show. Otherwise I would burst cause I don't know anyone else who watches the show. sad.gif
sarcasmlove
That's the exact same way I started watching the show. When it started in July I was stage managing a show at a local theater, so I was there at least six nights a week, and I had forgotten to record Psych, cause I really did want to watch it. Then in early August at midnight I happened to catch some of the pilot, so I was really excited and thought it was an awesome show...then I was like...okay, the guy who plays Shawn is really cute...and the rest is history biggrin.gif I totally agree with you though, James does have so many great qualities that draw people to him. And come on, with that kinda personality, who wouldn't have just a little crush on him??
xxSHAWNandGUSxx
may i just butt in to say:

I have nothing but respect for a guy who can have so many "failures" and still go after his dream of acting. Also started in stage, very nice. Great sense of humor and comedic timing. Simply irresistible to watch. And as for looks... What can I say? He's got an amazing smile and I'm kind of a sucker for the messed up hair (Black and Tan) "sigh" To sum it all up, "He's one beautiful person."
sarcasmlove
Oh yeah his bedhead is very enjoyable biggrin.gif

Yeah, when I found out that he was involved in theater and still is, I fell for him even more. I'm really big into theater as well, so I was so excited when I learned that.

We better fix that then! wink.gif

I have to agree with Pak67, and Sarcasmlove that the fact that he started out with Theater drew me in as well. I'm really active in my High School Theater program which (I'm proud to boast) is one of the best in Texas! I was even more excited when I learned about the Non-Profit Theater Company he started with his friend Brad Raider, Red Dog Squadron. Hopefully I'm not the only one who's been tempted to challenge him to that game of racquetball!

I didn't think I could like or adore the man anymore, then I found out about Red Dog Squadron smile.gif . There's just something that is totally amazing about theater to me, and the fact that he is still involved in it...makes me smile. I love James as Shawn, but just knowing that he has the background in theater, that's definitely potential for some serious dramatic acting that I'd love to see him do. Either way, he got even more respect and love from me. I can't say it enough...he's amazing.

And looks really hot in his racquetball outfit LOL

You took the words right out of my mouth! There's honestly nothing I can really add to that because that's exactly how I feel!
JoeyLeigh
yeah... i've never been in theatre... watched 1 high school production of Bye Bye Birdie... and a local college put out a few productions when I was little kid that we took field trips to, but I don't remember much from them.

There's so much more pressure on the actor when it comes to theatre, to remember lines... with all those people watching. Movie and TV relies a little more on post-production (like editing and whatnot)... you have a few takes to get lines right... and you don't have the pressure of people watching.

I wish I would've gotten into theater in High School... TV Broadcasting program was as close as I got.

Yeah actors really are under so much more stress when faced with a stage performance. They have to remember lines, blocking, and cover for other actors, if they flub lines. (I'm more of a crew person my self. Props and Set are my calling! tongue.gif) But it can also truly show how good of an actor you are. It's always interesting to look at genuinely good hollywood actors, and see how many of them have theater experience. The number always suprises me!

I agree: James Roday ALSO rocks my socks!
sarcasmlove
Shout outs to stage crews! LOL laugh.gif

It's true. There is so much effort that goes in to making whatever piece you're doing in theater come alive. I just stage managed, but I was very involved in the rehearsal process. Before we had even opened, I knew basically everyones lines, blocking, and choreography...but I couldn't go out there and do it. Stage performance is probably one of the hardest things to do for actors, they all have my respect, cause I like to run around backstage dressed in black LOL.

Oh and James is love smile.gif

Hey I didn't know if you guys had listened to this, but James did a podcast interview a while ago with Starry Consetllation Magazine. I recently found it and it's been pretty much playing non stop on my Ipod! Haha! It's fairly old (talking about starting to film the second season) but I still thought you guys might be interested in it!

I admit that James is hot, but he has made a couple of errors in the past.... most notably Skinwalkers and his soul patch.

It's his sense of humor that's most attractive, IMHO.

I loveeee the soul patch rolleyes.gif

We're still a head of Tim's thread, but I think we should really be smokin' them LOL
xxSHAWNandGUSxx
i haven't seen any of the afforementioned movies but they cant be bad if they're written by james...maybe thas just my obsession talking tho lol jk

dude, his soul patch was soooo not a error. i love how he's always got some stubble goin on laugh.gif it just adds to his hottness laugh.gif
sarcasmlove
I think stubble is sexy...especially on James, and I was very pleased with the addition of the soul patch for season two laugh.gif

Soul patch is a must lol. I ate anything otherwise on James.

Edit: I meant hate not ate lol

Hooray for stage crews. I have been involved in several musical productions as well as Accents Show Choir and Golden Pride Marching Band. Although I was an actor in these productions, I was involved in theatre tech my senior year and ran the lightboard and soundboard for various programs and also assisted during downtime in the musicals. Like anyone needs another excuse for wearing black and sneaking around in the dark. The hardest thing about the acting was getting everything so into your mind that you could do it in your sleep. You have to to prevent making stupid mistakes. Live performances are definitely difficult but exhilarating. I commend James (and Dulé) for continuing to lend their talents to the theatre medium even though they are now HUGE stars. **to us at least**
