Stone Cold Steve Austin was interviewed this week by The Sun. You can listen to the interview online here. Here are the highlights:

-- Austin thinks Jake Roberts and Randy Savage should be in the WWE Hall of Fame.

-- Austin says that when he first got to WWE, he and Shawn Michaels were on good terms. They hung out in the same circles and drank beer together. When Austin's popularity exploded in 1998, Michaels starting acting like a "pr*ck" to him. Austin says Shawn had a bad back at the time, but there were deeper issues than that.

-- Austin on having one more match: “I take that never say never approach to having a last match. For a while I just said: ‘No, it will never happen' but who knows? And I’m not saying this to get everybody up. It would have to be the most perfect set up in the whole world and all the stars to align for it to happen. The chances are few and far between but could it? Damn. Maybe."

-- On Hulk Hogan slamming him: “He’s just a bitter, insecure guy. I give him all the credit in the world, because I’ve watched a lot of his career unfold and the Hulkamania thing was one of the biggest things ever. But believe me I’ve been around the entertainment business since the back end of 1989, and if there’s one thing you’re going to find out it’s that if you’ve got thin skin you’re probably in the wrong business. So there’s not a damn thing Hogan can say to rile me up or charge me up. I’m secure in the career that I’ve had and everything I did. It makes me laugh when he’s got to do that, because I really think it makes him look like a chump.”

Hi Bubba here, thanks for the interview.

Austin alluded to this - egos. There's alot of egos in the business, and in '98 it was rumored HBK had a ton of issues swirling around. Bad back, other nagging injuries, tired, burnout, personal issues, etc.... that's what alot of the 'Born-Again' stuff is about for him. He was truely born again.

He also seems to have an enthusiasm for the business, since 2002, that has been unmatched in those last couple of years before he just vanished into unknown-retirement.

Austin has spoke highly of HBK as a wrestler on many occasions, even going so far as to call him the best I ever performed against. This is a man that has faced guys such as Undertaker, The Rock & Bret Hart.

So I would think they're cool.

As for Hogan, Austin couldn't be more right. Hogan only does that stuff, because Hogan knows what we all know... Vince McMahon MADE Hulk Hogan. Vince made Hulkamania. No different than John Cena of today's time, Hogan was a manufactured superstar that was pushed on the audience so much, that the audience was eventually brainwashed into liking him. Hogan has never been a great in-ring wrestler, despite being the greatest face ever in the history of the business with great mic skills.

Austin really was the total package. Was he around for 20 years? No. But it's quality over quanity. Austin was a fantastic in-ring wrestler, with fantastic mic skills (arguably the best by some) that had the unique ability in his prime to be the main heel in the company that was also their biggest babyface at the same time.

It also stands true, that if most wrestling fans were polled, they'd much rather in 2008, see Hogan eat a stunner, than Austin get the atomic leg drop.

I agree w/Austin especially about Hogan!

I mean, when Hogan was in the WWE after leaving the AWA, Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan put the WWE on the map, but then, ever since Wrestlemania IX, Hogan has been all about the money and fame!

I mean, when Bret Hart lost the WWE Heavyweight Title @ Wrestlemania IX to the late Yokozuna, Hogan stepped in and beat Yokozuna on that night and Hogan took the WWE Heavyweight Title from Yokozuna.

Bret Hart said in an interview on his DVD that Hogan didn't deserve the belt!

and plus, when Hogan went to WCW, it was all about Hogan winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship!

and @ Bash @ the Beach 2000 Hogan layed down for Jeff Jarrett and then Vince Russo came out and said in a shoot interview that the reason he came back to WCW was for the young talents, but the reason that most men talents were not getting a push in WCW was b/c of Hulk Hogan and so Russo fired Hogan and Hogan filed a lawsuit against WCW for defimation of character, but then he later dropped the lawsuit!

But here's something else:

When Hogan came back to the WWE, he wrestled The Rock on St. Patrick's Day on the same night Austin wrestled Scott Hall and Triple H def. Chris Jericho to become a 5x WWE Heavyweight Champion, and then the following month @ Backlash, Vince McMahon (who was running SD! while Flair was running RAW during the birth of the Brand Extension Era) awarded Hulk Hogan a shot @ the Undisputed WWE Heavyweight Championship and so @ Backlash, Hogan def. Triple H to become a 6x WWE Heavyweight Champion and Triple H became the property of SD!, but that was until Vengeance 2002 when Shawn Michaels convinced his friend Triple H to join RAW!

and that was when Bischoff was GM of RAW and Stephanie was GM of SD!

Yeah i've seen interviews with Bret Hart several times, where he said Hogan was a total prick to him when he won the WWF title.

Bret would do something simple like say, "hey Terry", and Hogan would just pass him by like he was the help.

Then when Bret got inducted into the HOF, Hogan tried to embrace Bret, but Bret walked right past him, just like Hogan used to do to him.

Bret also was the one who encouraged Austin to open his induction intro with "I was lookin' around back, and found a can of whoop ass with Hulk Hogan's name on it", and the crowd went crazy.

That was Bret & Steve's way of getting back at Hogan.

I don't blame them for doing that!

and guess what?

Stone Cold and Bret Hart aren't the only guys that don't like Hulk Hogan

Bruno Sammartino and Ole Anderson doesn't like Hulk Hogan either!

Bruno Sammartino even though he claims he doesn't hate the wrestlers (male and female) he said that Hulk Hogan is a cancer and that he's not a great wrestler and he didn't even like Hulk Hogan in WCW either b/c he was all about Hulk Hogan!

Bret Hart even said that Hulk Hogan is full of himself!

Ole Anderson said that Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon has killed wrestling in the WWE!
