I can't get JAG to record using Windows Media Center for XP Pro. It records about 30 to 37 minutes then I get an error message that the broadcaster forbids recording of the show and it deletes.

Any ideas how I can fix this since I'm sure that USA doesn't have this program blocked from recording. I was able to record it using a vcr but now that the media center handles all of my television I can't watch it any more.

PS it's not the show that is copy protected it's the commercials that are being aired. Copy protection errors always display during commercials. There is a petition here in Nashville to remove USA from the line up because of these copy protected commercials.

Finally figured out which commercial is copy protected and surprise it is the "USA Characters wanted" commercial as well as the "House" commercial. Becker, JAG and Moniker all refused to record yesterday and today.

I too am having problems recording JAG(or should I say everything on USAnetwork), for this exact reason... and I am also using MCE to record with...

It's to the point I have stopped watching that channel all together...

So it's the Commercials, huh... Who copy protects Commercial? some bright collage kid, I can imagine....

Hi Bubba here, I reckon they protect those, so they won't show up on youtube and such. I'm not sure, ask admin.

Well they don't listen to us so we have a petition to have them removed from the Nashville line up completely. Can't watch them anyways so why waste a channel on them that could be used for a station that doesn't protect thier commercials. Only have 3487 signatures so far but give it a couple more months and I'm sure that they will get the message when cities start dropping their network! The really pathetic thing is that it is the USA commercials not the commercials for products that are protected. If they are so worried about them showing up on YouTube (doesn't make sense) then why not monitor YouTube instead of punishing the public? For that matter you would think they would want the free advertisement from YouTube. The earlier comment that it is some dumb college grad that did this makes much more sense. No what does it take to get admin to pay attention to these complaints? I've sent a number of messages via thier feed back form and still haven't gotten a response or seen any changes in thier programming. I've recorded Becker for some time with no problems until recently. Now it won't record either because of thier new commercials.

The only JAG episode that has recorded this month is "In Thin Air" on March 17.

Sounding more and more like they are starting to use Microsofts tackticks -- not a smart business move for a television station.

I sent this message to 19 different departments via the feedback form:

Your commercials are broadcasting a "Copy Protected" signal which causes the shows not to record.

Question: How much money are you spending on commercials that won't be seen?

So far I've tracked it down to two commercials "USA Characters wanted" and "House"

go here to post your complaints http://www.usanetwork.com/feedback/ The more places you send the message the more someone is bound to read it.
