Well, Tim's hottness never sleeps. It's bound to cause problems at various random moments. And that time it was down for 6 hours? Tim decided to go shirtless and the board melted.

Also, so many posts have been added because this thread is made of awesome. The Roday thread can't compete with that!

How immune are you to caffeine? I have the feeling it will be your friend very soon. I don't drink caffeinated coffee on a regular basis because sometimes I just need a kick to get stuff done, and I don't want to have to try too hard to get it!
And oh yeah, he definitely pulls off the skinny mustache! I think it's the fact that he just has a very classic sort of good looks, so he looks good playing a part in period pieces.

of course. its shocking, but i think that the itty bitty mustache is better than the full on jericho beard. maybe its just because i prefer cleanshaven, and that is the closest option.
acubound05
Mar 24 2009, 02:13 AM
I feel like they can't even really be compared. I think I like each one better depending on my mood. Right now, I'm leaning towards the full-on Jericho beard with Tim's character being a bit of a jerk-power and all, we've had this discussion.

Sometimes though, I would definitely lean towards the more period-piece look. I'm sure I would more often if I had actually seen the episodes and had a feel for his character. Did you know that the library I work at has all of season 2 and I think even 3 of Deadwood, but not the first? That's the one Tim's in! Also, we have all the Monk seasons, the Burn Notice season, the Starter Wife mini-series, but no Psych seasons! How crazy and backwards is that?!
AdoptAPetToday
Mar 24 2009, 02:15 AM
hahaha that sucks so bad. see, ive never seen deadwood OR jericho (Bad tim fan, i know), so i dont base facial hair preference on character, just on how it looks in general.
acubound05
Mar 24 2009, 02:17 AM
Well that's how I judge the look before I "meet" the character. But then I learn about the character and it tends to influence my thoughts about the look.
I think I'm going to take a shot at this sleeping-thing. Good luck on your classwork!

Tim Omundson in Deadwood:
For those who haven't seen it, "Deadwood" is a GREAT series! The most realistic physical recreation of day-to-day life in that time period you'll ever see on film, and the language used in the scripts is wonderful. ("Dead Man" with Johnny Depp is very accurate as well) Tim O. is only in the first 4 episodes of Season 1, but it is a chance to see him in a totally different role. And I'll bet even money Lassiter's "Nice handlebar! Now get on the ground" line in "Truer Lies" was a reference the writers threw in about his handlebar mustache in "Deadwood".
"Jericho" is also a pretty good series. Tim O. isn't in it very much but he does play a fairly nasty character named Phil Constantino. I've found that some of the best bad guys are the ones who don't really know they're bad guys, they honestly believe that what they're doing is necessary for some greater purpose (like Magneto in X-Men). I think Constantino walks that line but also has a touch of greed as well. Not only does Tim O. he have a beard in "Jericho", he's got the "cool bad-guy artistically trimmed beard" with sculpted points along the jaw line. Why directors think bad guys with beards need some strange, artsy, unique shape, I don't know (the dumbest example I can think of is Kenneth Brannagh in "Wild Wild West"). Guess some folks think it makes them look even more evil or something. Good thing about Jericho is that everyone knew it was ending in Season 2, so the last season they just went to town with really bold scripts because they had nothing to lose. Pretty cool plot twists I must say.
