while lassies always hot, i think its emotional scenes like the one princess put up that really make me adore him just because hes not cocky for once and much more personable.

I think that's why I like him better than Shawn. He's definitely confident in his authority, but he has a heart. It may take work to get to where he would let you see it, but it's there. And I think that makes it all the more worth it. It also makes me hate Victoria more, because she sat there and threw it back in his face.

I love Shawn, but he has nothing on Lassie. And I can't even express how much I hate Victoria! Grr! She stabbed him in the heart then twisted it around, yanked it out, and rubbed a salt-covered lemon all over the wound!

Nice description! Spot on!
AdoptAPetToday
yeah, but i dont know if victoria ever really saw that side of him. like, it would be weird in a marriage not to, but she mentioned how two years ago he would have lit the divorce papers on fire, and he says how he usually gave her money as gifts.

im hoping the lassie scene in tuesday the 17th is the beginning of an era, and we'll get a lot more deep lassie scenes.
and youre right, acubound, i like lassie more than shawn, because its wicked rare to see shawn out of a joking mood, even if hes just with gus. the only reason we dont see the depth of lassie is that we usually only see him at work. theres a lot of facets for the writers to explore if they move into his character more, which i really hope they do.
Heartbreak_Princess
I'm really hoping for a Lassiter-centric episode this season. I mean why not? It would still include everyone, but maybe Lassie could be the main focus instead of Shawn.

No doubt it went sour toward the end, but at the very least there was no need for her to end it with that dinner the way she did. If she honestly didn't know what he was probably assuming, she's an idiot. He'd been trying to get back together with her for 4 years. They'd been married for some number of years before then. There had to be something in the beginning to get her to marry him in the first place. He'd been asking her to go to that restaurant with him for months, and she didn't connect the dots? I'm just going to settle for hating her. dry.gif
AdoptAPetToday
and clearly it would have to include a tim focused audio commentary for once. instead of Dulé and james doing all the actor ones. id love to hear tims ideas on his character's behavior and how he portrays it.
AdoptAPetToday
i mean, i agree, i hate her for doing that to him, especially when he was trying soooo hard to make amends. im just saying that maybe the damage was already done. if he really wasnt emotionally connected during the marriage, its going to be really hard to give him a second chance now, no matter how much he's changed.

I'd enjoy more Lassiter, but I feel like it would probably seem a little off for Psych. So Lassie-centric plotlines, but not necessarily episodes unless he's along with Shawn and Gus.

I know! I really want his input on "Lassie Did a Bad Bad Thing" and "Tuesday the 17th," in particular.

Me too! I was hoping he'd participate in the Lassie Did a Bad Bad Thing commentary, but the dvd info says the only cast members who did so were James and Dulé. sad.gif

Fair enough, but I just feel like, given how long he held onto his marriage, he's the type that really lets people in when he decides to let them in. Granted, he's a cop; I'm sure there were times when he probably shut off a bit-maybe even for extended periods of time. If that's why she left I can kind of forgive her for it; it's understandable. I just can't get over how she decided to set up the last meeting.
AdoptAPetToday
i agree, she shouldnt have met him for what he OBVIOUSLY believed was a romantic dinner just to serve the divorce papers. and let him ramble on and on for as long as he did and present the necklace. there was no 'misunderstanding' like she claimed, she just misled him.

and im shocked that only james and Dulé are on the commentary for lassie did a bad bad thing. why are the writers so against having other characters on it? i figured it was a given that they would branch out even if only for that episode.
Heartbreak_Princess
Well, Maggie's on the Evening With Mr. Yang commentary, but no Tim. It actually kind of depressed me. I was really hoping he'd do at least one.

I doubt it's the writers' doing. Maybe not even anybody in charge of that stuff. Maybe they just don't want to do it. Seems like a long shot, but if that's the case, that sucks!
AdoptAPetToday
thats ridiculous. so apparently theyre fine adding different characters into the audio. yet they cant add tim for the episode thats completely centered around him?!
AdoptAPetToday
right not the writers. i was apparently looking for a scapegoat haha.
and it would be really upsetting if the reality was that tim just didnt want to do it. it would drop his attractiveness meter a teensy bit.
Heartbreak_Princess
It's possible he just didn't have time or wasn't around when they decided to record it. He seems like too cool a guy to snub the chance at doing one little commentary.
AdoptAPetToday
yeah. im sure thats it. hopefully. its just damn disappointing.
acubound05
Now I don't think it'd drop his "attractiveness meter," but it'd be a bit disappointing. On the other hand, none of the actors are really obligated to do anything beyond acting unless it's specifically written into their contract. If they do, it's just icing on the cake! I do still really hope it's not Tim, though! That would put the idea of him being on one in the future outside the realm of possibility, which is sad.
Heartbreak_Princess
I know. *sigh*

ok we need a new, cheerful lassie topic to dish on. such as romantic possibilities for the new season?

True. Being as we can't be there to give him some love, someone needs to! He's certainly earned it!
Heartbreak_Princess
I won't even begin with my slashy ideas. lol! My sister suggested and I loved the idea of either Lucy Lawless or Renee O'Conner coming on the show as a love interest for Lassie.
AdoptAPetToday
clearly it should but us. but apparently not.
and princess, what do you mean by 'slashy' ideas?
im thinking he should go out with a wild child. hes now legit divorced, and so i think he should throw caution to the wind and go out with someone completely unlike him, someone who's crazy, somewhat illegal, and just the complete opposite of his straightlaced personality.

Hells yeah, it should be us! Oh, and by slashing I mean Shawn and Lassie going at it like two lonely cowboys in the mountains. biggrin.gif
It would be awesome to see Lassie dating a wild child! If only to see the reactions of his peers. lol!

I hate to bug out cause this has been the best conversation ever, but alas I must be going. We shall continue this discussion tomorrow...later today. Night all!
AdoptAPetToday
is slashy like, a legit word wherever you live?
and it would be amusing to see reactions to lassie dating someone crazy. i think it would raise shawn's respect for him like, tenfold.
acubound05
I think he should go out and have fun for a bit. Find some women who aren't perfect for him, because we've seen he's not great with dating or women. I think he needs a few practice runs. smile.gif Not a complete wild child; I feel like that would be a little bit too much of a departure, especially when we see the women he's been attracted to this season (Chief Vick's sister? Obviously not going to work!) But it should be someone fun, let him chill a little more when he's not on the job.

Oh, slash is just a fandom word for guy/guy and girl/girl pairings in shows. I don't know how it came to be.

And I agree. Shawn would certainly see him in a new light.

Okay, goodnight for real now. Bye gals!
AdoptAPetToday
i think a wicked random departure from the norm would be just what he needs to shake his life back on track. go out with some insane girl for a couple of episodes just to realize that while he likes more straightlaced people, its ok to not be completely so all the time. then maybe he can end up with someone normal.

and thank god, i finally finished my 15 page paper on The Fixer. hopefully now, if i go back to my room, ill no longer by sexiled. peace, y'all.

Didn't he do that once? In "9 Lives" he talked about how all actresses are crazies, and he knows because he dated one. "She had a nose ring."

Also, good night!

"wow now we're way too deep into the logistics of gun shooting for me. your guys' knowledge of this stuff is wicked impressive."

I'm a Police Officer, so it's actually my job to know that kind of stuff. I'm pretty sure Mr. Omundson would freakin' LOVE our patrol armory.

Ok I know this is way out of place at this point in the thread, sorry about that. I was catching up on reading posts back on page 18 and replied to someone's post about the Lassiter "bullet catch", then finished reading the rest of the posts up to page 22. So I am now completely off base for the current theme of the thread, but what the hell! Someone thought a change was in order, so here it is.

*****Previous Post*****
"I'm trying to forget how incredibly creepy Tim's character was in Criminal Minds;
instead, I'm thinking about how much Lassiter would like to have that gun"
*********************

That is an AR-15 assault rifle he's carrying in that scene from "Criminal Minds". It's "pimped out" with a bunch of goodies and gadgets, too. Not really necessary to have so many gadgets on your rifle because every accessory adds more weight. But you know boys and their toys....

If you're looking for that episode of "Criminal Minds, it's from season 1, episode #6 - "L.D.S.K." I rented it from Hastings. If your local video store rents DVDs of TV series, you might be able to rent that disk from the DVD set like I did. He was also pretty good as a terrorist in "24" (2006 season, Day 5, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, also listed as season 5, episode 8).

Actually Lassiter and Jules really should have either a patrol rifle (usually an AR15) or shotgun accessible to them. Most detectives carry them in the trunks of their unmarked cars. It would be entirely realistic to have Lassiter pull out an AR15 and start kicking butt, and you KNOW how happy Mr. Omundson would be filming that scene! By the way, I do own an AR-15 (yes, it's my patrol rifle) and they are really fun to shoot. Believe it or not, they have almost no recoil. Take me to the firing range for a day and I'm one happy girl! Holy crap I think I'm Lassie's dream date......

Man... I missed a lot last night! And I'm going to put my two cents in on some of the things...

Lassie saying he never closes his eyes in public, but doing it in "From Earth to Starbucks" (at least that's how I understood it):
My thoughts? Lassie may have kept his eyes cracked just a sliver OR his line in Bad Thing was more a way to resist Shawn's input and help than a truthful fact of his life.

The tie...
::happy sigh:: I like the vulnerable around the eyes Lassie as well... sure I like when he's all buttoned up, but there's something so *special* about seeing Lassie a little more relaxed that just makes me happy.

Wilson on House...
I too have liked SRL from before (especially Dead Poet's Society)... though I don't really like where they've taken his character on House recently.

Slash... yes, legitimate well used term all around the internet. Look it up on wiki if you want more information on how it came to be and why it is called 'slash'.

Lassie love interests? I'll have to sit on that... I too have trouble getting off the slash OTP of my mind...

You may be right! Let's just all go form a line in Vancouver and they can pick who gets a shot, huh?

I, too, think Shawn is still the most perfect match, but that's just not going to happen on the show-nor would I really want it to. It just wouldn't feel the same. So I suppose we'll have to keep imagining it. biggrin.gif

In the end, I really do think it should be a woman modeled after Shawn. Not to sound cliche, but they're kind of yin and yang. Where Lassiter can be really uptight, Shawn's generally pretty loose and care-free. When you kind of get let into Lassiter's world, he seems very...peaceful's not the word I'm thinking of but I can't seem to pull it out of my brain right now. I can easily picture him finally relaxing and being content when he's away from the job, especially now that the divorce is over. As we've seen more of Shawn this season, I think we've seen that under all his goofiness, he's got a lot resentment and bitterness built up from over the years that he just hasn't dealt with yet. I don't entirely blame him for it, but I really think it's the truth. Anyway, I feel like they, and therefore a woman modeled after Shawn in certain ways, could really balance and compliment each other wonderfully.

All that being said, poor Lassie still needs a few practice runs!
AdoptAPetToday
wow texasartchick. way to just blow us all away.

and acubound, i like that idea of a girl modeled after shawn. HILARIOUS and yet so ideal.

i think it would be interesting if they held an open casting call for lassies new love interest. have all of us just lined up in vancouver. it should totally happen.

How great is this?

If you thought that Tim was spending this month on a beach somewhere sipping margaritas, think again.
The following is an excerpt from the North Shore Journal, March 8th, 2009.

U.S. Army Capt. Troy Papanicolaou, from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., poses for a photograph with Hollywood stars at Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar, March 8. From left: Esai Morales, DeAnna Pappas, Deanna Russo, Papanicolaou, Jon Tenney and Timothy Omundson. The celebrities joined for an Ambassadors of Hollywood tour to U.S. military installations in Southwest Asia. Says Papanicolao, “It’s great to see them come all this way to support us.”

I admit it looks a little weird seeing him with a beard at first, but now having watched a few episodes of Jericho it really doesn't faze me. Still lookin' good!
AdoptAPetToday
im sure hes good looking with a beard. but its the inbetween scruff that hes got going on there thats just so unfortunate.
acubound05
Well it's certainly not one of his best looks, but I see it for the potential that it has-and I like it!
AdoptAPetToday
very openminded. im impressed. im just happy with clean cut lassie. i like seeing the lines of a guy's face, instead of having it consumed by hair.
acubound05
Touche. Whether or not I prefer a guy with facial hair or without generally has to do with whether or not he looks like a child without it. Obviously, not a problem with Tim! I prefer him without, but I'm not going to discount that he still looks good with!

It wasn't the beard that threw me, but the crew cut!

I'm so happy to see that Tim really is a great guy. Makes me love and respect him all the more wub.gif

haha exact same reaction here. the odd little beard is too distracting. another thing i dont understand, why is the beard so light? He has wicked dark hair, which is something i LOVE, but his beard is like, light brown.

Because he's getting some more grey in his beard. smile.gif Yay for distinguished!
AdoptAPetToday
ha but you cant tell that in the crew cut and halfbeard, it just looks lighter. and thats sad, because i really really enjoy dark haired guys. if he actually had hair, you would be able to tell that it was salt and pepper, which is just SO much better.
