Okay, I am SO HAPPY with the way the writers and actors are developing the characters this season! YES! And Lassiter was, in my humble opinion, about fifty megawatts of awesomeness!
My favorite Lassie moments:
-The phone call from Shawn where he says he has over three hundred and sixty days of vacation time and "I will be on the NEXT PLANE UP
THERE!" then SLAMS the phone down. Hahaha!
-Where he basically takes over Shawn's crime scene with his knowledge of Despereaux, starting with the "smoking cigarette calling card".
LOVE watching him be competent in the field like the investigative bad ass he is!
-Lassiter: "Oh yeah, he's packing."
Gus: "Well that makes one of you."
Lassiter: "SHUT UP GUSTER!"
WAAAHAHA! The way Tim delivered the "shut up Guster" line was so damn funny! LASSIE MAD! Classic.
I am now REALLY looking forward to the rest of the season, especially "High Noonish". I think that one (and "Shawn Takes A Shot In The Dark") will be spectacular.

Sorry I haven't been here as much as usual the last couple of nights. I just started working for another Police Department, and "gearing up" for starting with the new agency has had me crazy busy. Smaller department but much better chance I'll get promoted long run because I have a MA.
By the way, talk about "gun porn"...my new department allows every officer to carry their own firearm. I had a Glock 22 (the .40 cal) custom assembled with a smaller aluminum frame that has an adjustable backstrap to custom fit smaller hands. Also has a recoil reduction insert that decreases the recoil so much it shoots like a 9mm. Had to use it in the field today to shoot an injured wild boar that was wandering around the local High School charging at people. All I can say is that gun is SWEEEETT.

Finished the Shassie fic... absolutely wonderful. Perfectly written and I adore long fics like that.
The funny thing is, if it weren't for the last page or two, it wouldn't be Shassie in the least--nice sweet PG-13 little fic with Shassie at the very end and overtones of possibility throughout that match up so well to what we see in the show.
It's been awhile since I've come across a nice long fic like that. It was nice to read and had a great take on the Shawn/Lassie relationship--honestly if the author wasn't (likely) a Shassie fan, I could easily have seen the fic being written gen without much change.
Now off to fulfill beta duties.

That little exchange had me rolling! Having Lassiter lose his gun for an episode was GENIUS, and I love our writers all the more for it! I had never given any thought to that sort of scenario before, because Lassie just always has his gun. Period. Had I imagined it though, he would have reacted much like this. Perfect!

There has been much discussion regarding the messianic Eli and The Way in the Xenaverse over the years.
I happen to have liked the character of Eli. I'll admit, Tim's acting and definite hotness made it easier for me to like the character.
Even if you don't like Eli, you've got to admit he's incredibly drool-worthy.

Speaking of Eli ... I don't remember if this link has been posted here; if so, it was many pages ago.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4kvLsb8jp8...feature=channel It's Part 2 of Lucy and Renee's (Xena and Gabrielle's) commentary + clips of the episode 'Ides of March.'
Renee talks about how she and Tim put a lot more into the relationship between Eli and Gabrielle than was originally written.

(P.S. - After viewing the clip, you probably don't want to search for any more of this episode to see what comes next. It's incredibly grim.)

Lassie's wardrobe is MUCH better this season, and I could not possibly be more grateful for it! All that needs to be to make it perfect would be his hair. I've grown to like the buzzcut, but I really am missing that salt-n-pepper right now!
