Okay, so I picked this one out because his face is great...

...and this one because I think he looks like a dancing leprachaun...

...and this one as further proof of the point I'm about to get to.

We shouldn't be concerned about Lassiter's fashion sense as it relates to ties. Tim's should be the focus! That first one looks like the pattern for an incredibly old grandmother's couch!

The interesting thing about Tim and his various convention appearances is that he *always* wore a suitcoat and tie. Mind you, he often shed them in the heat, but still, that tells you something about his respect for the fans.

I never thought about it like that. I've always appreciated the way he looks in a suit, though. Even with the sometimes grotesquely decorated ties! I kind of can't even imagine how he would look in something that wasn't a button-up. It's an odd thought!

Maybe his little girl gave him the tie! (I'm sure I gave my dad some *ugly* ties back in the day...) Lassiter doesn't have any such excuse...

Well that's true. In that case, "Great job!"

And maybe Lassiter's ex-wife picked them out for him shortly before the separation. I think somebody'll have to show him what her real objective was. wink.gif

Shawn would give Lassie this tie:

Lassiter would refuse to wear it... to work (but around the wrists... that's another matter for discussion... or fic wink.gif)

Well, right now we're discussing the merits and uses of a pineapple tie for Lassiter (so he can get rid of all the ugly ones, of course!). biggrin.gif So really, just anything that occurs to you!

*BlackTsChica-That is one of the great moments of season 3 for me. I know they probably shot it that way to play up the cheesiness of those types of moves, but that doesn't matter. It was just plain sexy!

I totally agree. I actually love those "macho poppin' glock" movies and it was great to see Lassie get his moment. I have a feeling they will be doing more "Lassie doin' his thang" in Season 4. biggrin.gif I look forward to it!!!
acubound05
They had some great Lassiter moments this season, so they have a lot to try and top! The gun, the divorce (heart-breaking and made me cry, but oh so sexy!), the trench coat! Seriously, the trench coat. And him coming out of the rain in it. I nearly died.

Slight season 4 spoiler...
Spoiler:
I can't tell you how disappointed I'll be if they go through the entire western-themed episode without putting our dear Carlton in a cowboy hat. Being from Texas, I think cowboys are way sexy!

And, given your avatar... you may also want to jump in on the discussion of why Lassiter has said pineapple tie (aka, who gave it to him--which should be obviou) and what "creative" uses Shawn and Lassiter might be able to put said tie to wink.gif
bethgreen
I was just watching 'Truer Lies' and I had to share the following scene:

"Spencer, thank you once again for completely wasting my time."

"'Once again?' Just last week, I gave you the tip about the twice-a-year sale at TJ Maxx. Racks and racks of seven dollar ties. Wasting your time? I don't think so."

So, it's canon that Shawn influences Lassie's choice of ties. smile.gif

I do so love this thread! tongue.gif

*bethgreen: How did I never make that connection?! I think it's because that's right after the scene where Lassie thinks Shawn's in the hospital and it's life-or-death. He's all worried and adorable right there. smile.gif That's a logical explanation!

Oh... can so see fics (Shassie, of course) popping in my mind with Shawn gifting Lassie with some really nice ties...

Then again, I think no fic could top the existing one in which Shawn helps Lassie find clothes... and then it takes him weeks to even wear one (one of the best fics in the world that one, one of my absolute favs)

LOL, as much as I *love* this fic, it is Shassie... thought it doesn't exceed PG-13, still Shassie and still slash. It long and superbly written with good plot and decently in-character Lassie (for a slash fic)... but, yeah, still Shassie. Sorry.

Ok, I'll avoid it, then. Thanks for the heads-up. I've found a ton of fanfics over on Psychfic with Lassiter as a main character that I'm looking forward to reading, now that my "Survival School" is finally over. I've got the rest of the day off to just hang out and read. It's going to be a Lassie-riffic day!

Tell you what, though. That course was a ton of fun. I got to run rescue drills from patrol cars and be a "trunk monkey" for a day. Did simunitions "active shooter" building searches. Breached doors with a shotgun and tore up some mad $hit with "Thor's Hammer", fireman's halligan tools, and a sledgehammer. Participated in ground fighting and shot moving targets at night. Qualified on an extremely difficult and quickly timed pistol and shooting course utilizing weapon failure and speed loading drills. Last but not least, got to do a live-fire "shoot house" practical exercise. And the best part is I GOT PAID to do it!

Know what I'm gonna do tonight? Relax, read some fanfics, and watch some Psych season 2 episodes. Because the only way this week can get any better is to add some Tim Omundson into the mix. He's the cherry on top of the pineapple sundae.

Hurry up with your fanfic, BlackTsChica. I want to read it. Fell better, by the way!

Since Winky mentioned QLC, I had to go back and read it again (because it's just that good). When I got to the chapter of Shawn's "undercover" job, I thought back to a conversation that we had on this thread a while ago:

Will Lassiter loosen up and get back into undercover assignments now that the divorce is over?

I was remembering about his "Prosthetic Nose Debacle of 2005" which made me think of the "Secret Santa Debacle of 2005". Of course, that led me to think, "Wow. Lassiter had a really crappy 2005!" And then I realized-Victoria left Lassiter in January or February of 2005! Which means the stress of his situation with her could easily have been the impetus of all his overreactions and missteps. Which means that, since they're now divorced, he could return to a lower-stressed level of normalcy. Which could lead to undercover assignments!

I'm sure nobody else is as excited as I am about that, but I had to share it anyway! And I won't lie-I feel like I accomplished a little bit! tongue.gif I am so lame!

And Acubound, I am excited and look forward to what they will do with Lassie. Lassie Did a Bad Bad Thing got me - it showed me his cool side. I am used to his strong side, but that cool thang got me goin'. You go, Boy!!! biggrin.gif So next season, I am sure they will kick it up a glock. Oh excuse me, I meant "up a notch"! biggrin.gif

Psych - High Noon-Ish - Plotline and Casting Call

Labels: Psych
STORY LINE: Shawn and Gus investigate the spectral goings-on in the tourist trap of Sonora, a town where actors re-create the Wild West -- and someone or something is gunning for SHERIFF HANK MENDEL...

[SHERIFF HANK MENDEL] Late 50s to Late 70s, a Wild West Sheriff, stubborn, proud, tough and rugged, Hank is long past his prime, but still commands a striking presence in his 1870s-era garb: Stetson, boots, duster, pearl handled revolver and tin star. The owner-operator of Sonora, a tourist trap in the boonies, Hank gets up every morning and pretends to be a Sheriff, gunning down outlaws in the dusty main street of town. An old codger who is Lassiter's surrogate father, and who talks like a grizzled old rider of the prairie, Hank is worried when his ratty pasteboard town appears to be under siege by the legendary Ghost Rider of Sonora. But when Hank gets wounded and his business rival is killed, it's time for some real lawmen to investigate the crime (real lawmen aided by a fake psychic)...LEAD (7) LOOKING FOR RECOGNIZABLE NAMES

[STINKY PETE DILLINGHAM] Late 30s to 50, the town outlaw in Sonora, Stinky Pete is another of Hank's employees; every day, whenever tourists show up, he guns it out with Sheriff Hank and bites the dust on Main Street. But Stinky Pete is an outlaw in his real life as well: having discovered a profitable vein of gold in an abandoned mine (on Hank's property), Pete's been working the mine and taking steps to ensure that nobody (like Frank McBain) develops the property. A killer, an arsonist and a greedhead, Pete winds up shooting it out on main Street for real -- with a gun-toting, vindictive Lassiter...5 lines, 4 scenes (7)

I'm am so excited for the new season it sounds like the writers have some great episodes for us. And yet another clue into Lassiters life. So I'm guessing Lassie's dad was never there to raise him or maybe something terrible happened to his father because obviously he wouldn't have a surrogate father to raise him then.

And a real wildwest Showdown between lassie and a killer.
Texasartchick

Don't care for the beard and haircut combo that much (looks like he tried to compensate for the super-short haircut by growing more on his face, haha), but damn he's still smokin'. Love his eyes in the second picture.

I was going to post a little something about this (sans spoiler, though), but you beat me to it! Yes, I am now very excited about this upcoming season 4 episode. In Jericho, Tim looked better because his beard was more trimmed, and his hair was longer.

Here's a screencap of the Jericho Season One beard

Better yet, watch the scene this is from on YouTube: Jericho snippet

Tim mentioned that at the time of his appearance in Jericho Season Two, he was clean-shaven, so they had to build him a beard. Tim's main complaint was, "I don't have that much gray in my beard."

I noticed something interesting in these Jericho photos. In the first one from season 1, Constantino's all neat and tidy. But in season 2 his appearance is more disheveled, his beard isn't as neat (it doesn't have the "bad guy pointy trim" along the jaw line), and he now has a scar on his forehead above his left eyebrow. That's because he's been living in captivity under the control of the "government" troops, and it looks like they were not kind to him. Kudos for details!

Two things about the beard. First of all, you can tell in that season 2 close-up that it's probably fake, it just isn't nearly as full as his real facial hair. And second, hate to say it Tim, but yeah, your beard does have that much gray in it. Unless they made him add gray for season 1!

This one's for Texasartchick and anyone else who might be interested.
I came across a wiki called the 'Internet Movie Firearms Database'(IMFDB) that has, among other things, detailed information (like lists and/or screencaps) of the weapons used in different movies and television. It's worth a visit for Jericho alone, with entries for thirty nine different guns as well as an M203 grenade launcher.

If someone wanted to add an entry for 'Psych,' it would be a bit shorter. smile.gif

Here's the link for the IMFDB for Television shows.

To make this post a bit more on topic, go here and click on the pic when you get there if you'd like a larger image Lassie and his gun.

They didn't make him add grey for season 1, but I did read an interview in which he was talking about the beard they built for season 2. He said it was his first reality check on how much grey there actually is in his beard. Poor guy! I imagine most men just kind of look in the mirror and eventually come to the realization on their own. His was forced upon him by a near-stranger! Though if it would ever be of any consolation, I like the grey. No one will ever hear me complaining about salt-and-pepper coloring! (Unless it's my own, but I'll wait to cross that bridge until I get to it...)

Hey all.

First post here - have just discovered delights of psych and the fact that fellow psych fans (psycer? psychos??) exist.
Found psych a few weeks ago buried on an obscure satellite channel, only watched because I recognised Corbin Bernson from LA Law. But soon found was addicted- this show is both funny and clever (something I was convinced American shows could not do- happy to stand corrected).
It took me a few weeks to realise that Lassie is uber cool- I mean an emotionally repressed workaholic cop with limited social skills its true, but a wry soh (are we sure he's not a Brit) and magnificent self control not the punch Shawn.

Shawn in my view west coast hippy style surfer dude- but guess thats why the show works!

Tim O appears to be an actor with a great soh- and fun eyebrows- have a weak spot for the eyebrow quick. Hate the beard though!!

Am currently in March catching up on the Tim O fans- figure I am somewhat out the norm (over 30- just, British and male- but hey), but just wanted to say hi- I so don't do forums as rule.

PS Would so wear the pineapple tie- but the rest of the office would freak out entirely- and it doesn't really scream government- shame.

Thank you kindly.

"It took me a few weeks to realise that Lassie is uber cool- I mean an emotionally repressed workaholic cop with limited social skills its true, but a wry soh (are we sure he's not a Brit) and magnificent self control not the punch Shawn. "

Lassie sure is "uber-cool"! Have you seen the episode "Lassie Did A Bad Bad Thing" yet? He's awesome in that episode. The director even deliberately played that up in a couple of scenes, such as his rain-soaked entrance into the SBPD station, and unloading his weapon at the end.

Hmmmm.....in honor of our newest member, could someone re-post that little animated bullet catch thing, please?

"Tim O appears to be an actor with a great soh- and fun eyebrows- have a weak spot for the eyebrow quick. Hate the beard though!!"

Agreed! I LOVE the eyebrows, well his eyes in general. Very intense and expressive. Gotta love the "Count Chocula" brows. Have you seen the episode "American Duos" yet? If not, there's a REALLY funny reference to a particular British comedic character that you'll probably find damn funny.

Take your time catching up on the thread. Lots of post about the goodness that is Tim Omundson to comb through. A monumental, but pleasant task.

Ok, it's WAY too dead around here! So here's a light-hearted topic for discussion - Lassiter's UGLIEST TIES. As much as I love our favorite Head Detective, his taste in fashion accessories really sucks at times. Here's one that I think needs to find the bottom of a trash barrel:

Welcome to Psych-O land! smile.gif

Yes..I had to go back to work today so I haven't been too active here during the day. It's easier to Twitter during the day. biggrin.gif Plus I was a post maniac when i was sick, so I didn't want to be a bboard hog! LOL!! smile.gif

But I digress, welcome again! biggrin.gif

Awww, that's a great picture! I like the behind the scenes photos, especially when it's one where they're working on one of my favorite scenes ever for the show. Where in the world did she find that?

Here's a behind the scenes photo I found on the USA web site in the photo gallery for "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, He Loves Me, Oops He's Dead!" It looks like director Tim Matheson is going over something with them during a break.
