Ok, one more then I'm done for the night. This was taken backstage in the celebrity retreat room (where they get "swag" from promoters) at the 2009 College TV awards, the same event where Tim O. is wearing that smokin' hot black suit with the gray tie. I think it's a pretty funny pic myself. Definitely NOT Lassiter at all! Enjoy the Tim O. goodness...

Yay! We have it on the new page. I really do completely love that picture.

So I just got done watching Tim in the first two episodes of Deadwood, and I must admit that I will never, ever, figure out how he so perfectly balances adorable and sexy.

"So I just got done watching Tim in the first two episodes of Deadwood, and I must admit that I will never, ever, figure out how he so perfectly balances adorable and sexy."

Yes, his character is terribly naive in Deadwood. AND he's rockin' the sweet 'stash to boot. When you get to the part where his character gets killed (oh come on, it's no spoiler! Who DOESN'T get killed on that show?) make sure you listen very carefully to the dialogue. He says something that enhances the "adorable yet tragically naive" aspect of the character. (And no I won't tell you what he says. THAT would be a spoiler!) It's kind of hard to hear, so get your ears on.

Where my TIManiacs tonight? I'm excited to see that USA has FINALLY started re-running the first part of Psych season 3. The episode tonight (well, tomorrow technically) at midnight Central time is "Ghosts", which is one I haven't seen. YEEHAW I get to watch a "new" episode!

I should get disc 2 from Netflix by Thursday or Friday. I only ordered disc 1 because I looked and was thinking, "He's only in the first 4 episodes. That's one disc." I was wrong. Did you know they only put 2 episodes on that first disc?! Ridiculous!

The naivete is very endearing in this episode. That scene in episode 2 where he's getting ready to leave for the day and inventing excuses so he can stick around to see his wife wake up made me awww and want to go fix it. I don't appreciate when Tim's characters are not appropriately appreciated. He makes me want to go kick a$$!

I'm needing for them to re-air "Murder...Anyone...[etc.]" because apparently someone deleted it from my DVR. I was not happy when I got all excited to see it and instead saw that it was gone! It was episode 2, so maybe they'll get there quickly! I'm definitely glad you're getting to see the first half of season 3, though! It's completely wonderful, if lacking a little bit in the Lassiter department for me.

I don't know that you can... I finally just bit the bullet and got Netflix. I'm glad I did, though! So worth it!

Okay, I'm missing something...Burberry tie? Also, I've never noticed any green-ish eyes with the squib or facewig. Hmm...I guess I'll go have to look closer. Damn!

well thattss a bummer. i suppose i could do that. or i could just be lazy and not bother and then just steal pictures from what you girls post smile.gif

anyhoo...topic for the night anyone?
Texasartchick
Well I just finished watching "Ghosts". WOW what a good episode! It was really funny to see "rookie" Lassiter (a.k.a. beanpole) in his moustache. At least we got a little Lassie footage with the psychological evaluation B story. I also thought Roday and Hill were in rare form. This episode had me laughing out loud in several scenes. Such as:

Gus - "That dog sees something."
Shawn - "Yeah. The urine stain on my pants."

and

Gus - "Don't you go boneless on me Shawn!"

And I REMEMBER THE MAGAZINE DYNAMITE!!! I used to love "Bummers", but then again I was a stupid kid at the time. Believe it or not that was a real magazine, it was the "Teen Beat" of it's day only a lot less fancy. Wow, I am so old!

I looked at the USA schedule and unfortunately the next episodes are not from the first part of season 3. Guess I'll have to wait a little while longer.

Texasartchick
"anyhoo...topic for the night anyone?"

OK, I've got one. As you know I just finished watching "Ghosts", and I noticed something in this episode. In the scene where Lassiter is on the therapist's couch spilling his guts to Shawn's Mom, he sits up and holds up his shoe. I saw that and the first thing I thought was, "Wow. That's a big shoe." Followed immediately by, "Is that patent leather?" Tim Omundson must have some big honkin' feet. I was looking around online recently trying to figure out his actual height (NO source has it listed! Feh!), and eventually gave up trying to pin down an actual number from any one source. So I decided to use secondary sources. Sage Brocklebank (plays Buzz McNabb) is 6'5". James Roday is listed as 5'10" - 5'10.5". So based on their comparative heights when standing next to one another, and assuming the show isn't shooting anyone "short" or "tall", I'd say Tim Omundson is about 6'1".

Topic: Tim O.'s big ol' scarecrow feet. Discuss!

Texasartchick
psychrulz
That's interesting! Actually, though, as was being discussed on the James thread, it's very likely that James is being listed as taller than he actually is- he's listed as taller than Gus, when he's clearly not...unless you count the hair wink.gif
AdoptAPetToday
interesting...well obviously tim IS tall, you can tell that much just by comparison. but since hes also referred to as 'beanpole' and other unrememberable mentions of being tall and skinny, 6'1 sounds about right...impressive work, texas!

6'1 sounds right to me, too. I've always figured it was somewhere around there.

i think this may be the first time i have posted on this thread but i was watching "Ghosts" last night and one of my favorite Lassiter moments was in there -

i loved how she played him into talking and when he was done it was like a little kid...he had his knees pulled up and he was smiling and then the comment "i told you secrets i didn't even know i had!"

laugh.gif

and then the look on his face when he found out it was Shawn's mom.

priceless.

the only thing that bothered me is when she tells him about having an eidetic tonal memory... that was a HUGE clue for Lassiter in the "prove Shawn isn't psychic" crusade but he never puts 2 and 2 together.
acubound05
He makes some pretty awesome faces in that episode. smile.gif

I still maintain that Lassiter no longer really cares to prove Shawn wrong in front of everyone. I think that as long as he finds out the truth (he has to prove to himself that he's still a better detective) and Shawn and Gus don't irrevocably screw anything up, he'll just keep it to himself. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he hasn't argued about Shawn being psychic-or really even being put on a case-since "Ghosts."

*Oh yeah-Welcome to the Tim thread!
Texasartchick

THANK YOU for the screencaps! I love this pic of Tim O., great smile. Princess is THE screencap queen around here, but looks like she's been too busy lately to conduct the nightly screencap frenzy, and I for one miss it terribly. It's a lot of fun. Can't wait until she's back.

"i loved how she played him into talking and when he was done it was like a little kid...he had his knees pulled up and he was smiling and then the comment 'i told you secrets i didn't even know i had!' "

Yeah, I loved that scene. I knew Shawn's mom was going to twist it around and work the truth out of him eventually. I also liked the scene where Cheif Vick is telling him he has to submit to the psych evaluation due to, in part, to discharging his firearm at a cat show. "For the record, I'd never shoot a cat. Unless it was approaching me in a threatening manner."

"the only thing that bothered me is when she tells him about having an eidetic tonal memory... that was a HUGE clue for Lassiter in the 'prove Shawn isn't psychic' crusade but he never puts 2 and 2 together."

I think Lassiter knows Shawn isn't psychic, but has a reluctant, begrudging respect for his abilities as a detective. I believe Lassiter really is secretly impressed by Shawn's deductive and observational skills (even though his ego would never allow him to admit it while rational). We see this in the pilot when he asks Shawn, "Seriously. How did you do that?" after trying to stuff Shawn in the car.

I think Lassiter dislikes Shawn not because he's faking the psychic thing, but more for the fact that an immature slacker could bypass and break rules and win every time. Lassiter seems to live his life by very strict codes, taking things very seriously and giving every endeavor his best effort, following rules "by the book" and "to the letter" because that's what one should do. His world is one of order amidst the chaos of everyday life. But when an eternal man-child that takes NOTHING seriously and breaks all protocol shows up and has nothing but success when doing so, it upsets Lassiter's world. He labors so intensely to do everything by the rules, which means he SHOULD win, deserves to win, because he "did it right". One is supposed to be rewarded and commended when they follow rules. Then Shawn shows up and steals his thunder with absolute minimal effort, and it really pisses him off. But when you get down to it, Shawn's extremely annoying methods consistently produce results, and he is extremely effective at catching bad guys. In the end, another murderer is behind bars and off the streets - and Lassiter, as much as he hates to admit, respects that.

It's because of this that I think Lassiter is no longer actually trying to prove Shawn isn't psychic to everyone else. As annoying as "Spencer" is to him, he knows that if Shawn isn't allowed to work cases anymore, bad guys go free. I believe he's decided to tolerate Shawn for the greater good of society. I think Lassiter "put 2 and 2 together" a long time ago but has chosen to keep it to himself. I'd like to see this explored as a B story in an episode, great chance at character growth.

My favorite exchange in that scene is:

"I'm...going to have to say no."
"That wasn't a question!"
"Could you phrase it like one?"

I love the way Tim delivers those lines, and he very well portrays Lassiter's descent from confidence to slight desperation within just a few seconds. And, as always, it's pretty adorable!

I concur! I didn't want to get into my whole understanding of Lassiter because I feel like I've done it enough and I'm pretty sure it's posted somewhere around here, but you very well articulated my view on the "psychic thing," so I'm just going to agree. smile.gif
AdoptAPetToday
well...we already know in "from earth to starbucks" that lassiter is convinced shawn isnt psychic. i dont think anythings happened since then to change his mind, he's just decided to let it go.
and as for the eidetic tone memory, hes already guessed that shawn is super observant, and his guess was never confirmed or denied.

p.s. sporks, welcome. and i LOVE your caps! perfect transition of faces smile.gif

I've always loved that scene. The desperation of our two favorite characters is so immediately apparent: Lassiter's cling to his winning streak and the adoration of his co-workers vs. Shawn's need to feel the attention and rush of solving a case. And Jules' and Gus' pride in their respective partners is very nice to see. We often see their exasperation, but to instead see their confidence is always a nice change of pace.

I also love that scene for two reasons. Number 1:

"There's nothing in these waters with a bite radius that large" is a super cool JAWS reference, which is one of the best movies ever made in my humble opinion.

Number 2:

When Tim Omundson is doing the thing with his hands claiming the puncture wounds were caused by a crab trap (I think), I believe he's mimicing John Cleese (as the sorcerer "Tim") in Monty Python and the Holy Grail during the killer rabbit scene. "It's got huge pointy teeth!" At least it reminds me of that scene. One of my favorite movie scenes of all time because it's just so damn stupid! (That and the Black Knight, gotta give him props!)

I also LOVE that stupid dinosaur drawing.

Ok, I'm tired of this thread being dead. I think it's time to post a little Tim Omundson goodness. My apologies if these have been posted before, but I don't think they have. I'll start with a different view of one of my favorites:

I love them all, but this one will always be one of my favorite pictures of Tim as Lassiter, probably even Tim as anybody.

All the colors in the picture work together very well, the shirt/tie/suit combo is working very nicely, the badge is proudly on display, his blue eyes are apparent even from this distance, and I love the smirk!

I really actually like when we get pictures of him from about this distance; his eyes are always especially piercing in them. When it's a close-up, you obviously notice them immediately. But most of us don't see a picture taken from this distance and first look at the eyes. You take in all the more obvious attributes first, and then you go for the details. But the way Tim's eyes shine in these pictures, they just demand more immediate notice. I like them very much!

I would throw Goochberg off of the shooting range for holding a gun that way! Pointed up and with her finger on the trigger - Lassiter should have smacked that thing right out of her hand. I've actually removed a gun from someone's hand for doing exactly what Goochberg is doing in this photo.

Here's a pic that I think was taken at a Xena Con. And Tim Omundson literally looks like he is giving this lovely lady a hickey on her cheek. Either that or he's going all Hannibal Lecter on her face. I'm not kidding! It's somewhat creepy, yet hilarious at the same time. I love that picture! As I said earlier, I love how they've photographed him in this set. The colors, the distance, etc. I haven't seen this one though, and that expression kind of makes my day! I reminds me of "Cloudy Chance of Murder" back in season 1 when Shawn's speaking to the judge about Lassiter and in describing him says something about "who looks like he's been sucking on sour patch kids." I feel like this must have been the face he was talking about!

As for the picture you found that's connected to an article you couldn't, I've had the same problem. Around the time season 3 was getting ready to premiere, USA let a group of journalists go up to interview the cast and visit the set in Vancouver. I found Kirsten's interview, and Dulé's interview, but I don't think I ever saw anyone else's, including Tim's. I saw plenty of pictures of it in the process, but never did locate the actual interview. It's a shame, because it was pretty fun!

Here's a link to yet another interview with Tim Omundson. Enjoy!

"I love that picture!"

Me too! He looks like he's just about had it for the day. He needs coffee and a doughnut. Or perhaps a delicious bear claw.

Think you can find links to those pics and post them here? We need to get this thread rockin' again!

Here's a link to a bunch of pits taken of Tim Omundson on stage at a Xena Con. Unfortunately he has the "poop stain" on his chin. But props for wearing a double-breasted suit.

Woo-hoo, more Tim pics! Here's one of the Jericho cast supporting the writers during the writer's strike. Notice Tim Omundson in the background wearing a baseball hat and sweet 'stash.

Here's a few more Tim O. pics.

And this is THE CUTEST pic you'll ever see of Tim Omundson! He's on the ferris wheel with (I think?) his daughter. It's such a normal "dad" moment. Just click on the thumbnail labeled "Tim Omundson" and enjoy the fluffy goodness. By the way, he's wearing shorts. Skinny legs!

I first saw the ferris wheel pic on the Shooting Star ferris wheel website. The more I looked at the picture they had labeled as 'Tim Omundson,' the more I thought, 'close, but it's not him; the nose is all wrong.' I finally clicked on the other stars they labeled as having ridden their ferris wheel, and figured it out. They picked out people who resembled the stars, and posted the pics to advertise their ride.

And is it obsessive that I've stared at so many Tim pics for so long?

Or that I actually wrote to MSN and asked them to fix the label on the pic they have posted as 'James Roday and Maggie Lawson at the Lint Roller Party' and asked them to change it to the correct,
'Tim Omundson and Maggie Lawson?'

They didn't correct it; maybe if enough people bother them about it, they will? The link for feedback is at the right-hand bottom corner of the home page here.
Please let them know you care about the mis-identification. Thank you.

I read your post and took another look at the Shooting Star pic, and you're right. I don't think that is him after all. Good catch. SORRY for posting a non-Tim pic! But you, know, I am a "trained observer" and all......

And no, it's not obsessive that you've stared at so many Tim pics. We all need something to tide us over until season 4 starts.

I will be more skeptical of pics in the future.
