I don't know that we ever did, but I'm watching Tim in one of his Jericho episodes right now. Power hungry Tim is just sexy! He's all rugged and manly in this show-the hair, the beard. I think that particular look actually makes his eyes pop. Love it!

Okay, I've really enjoyed that Lassie's been showing Shawn a little more consideration. When things really matter, he goes to Shawn for help. Particularly in Dis-Lodged and Lassie Did a Bad Bad Thing. He may have objected to Jules calling in Shawn during Bounty Hunters, but if he had really wanted to fight it, he would have. When we really get down to it, Lassiter trusts Shawn and I want to see more of that. He'll never say it, and he'll do his absolute best to try and not let anyone notice, but he trusts and respects Shawn. And it makes me happy!

And yes, I definitely mean cardiac arrest! It could be lethal! If I had it on my laptop I could screencap it, but I can't. It's just on my DVR.

I like how, of all the cops, it is most clear that Lassie does not buy into the 'psychic' thing one iota, but yet has been giving Shawn more and more respect... even if it is grudgingly (though sometimes I think that is more an act for Lassie to keep up appearances than anything). Lassie now knows that, despite his methods, solving crimes isn't some hobby for Shawn that he starts and never finishes... Lassie realizes that Shawn really does care about the cases and solving them... leading Lassie to give Shawn more and more latitude as the show goes on...

We've seen Shawn help Lassie, and even Lassie give Shawn back his bike... but I'd like to really see a time when Shawn turned to Lassie for something he couldn't do alone

aw damn thats a bummer. i realized recently that somehow tim always manages to get roles in which he has a valid reason for carrying a sidearm.

criminal minds (villain), 24 (terrorist), psych (cop), Judging Amy (lawyer), OC (prosecutor), Boston Legal (Attorney), John Doe (lawyer), etc.

I really think that it's because Lassiter doesn't believe Shawn that he has so much respect for him. I think that helping give him that respect is the fact that he knows Shawn's past. He knows that before now, Shawn had never stayed at a job for more than 6 months. He's now stuck around nearly 3 years, and I think Lassie knows Shawn takes this seriously, regardless of how flippant he may appear while doing it.

At first I was thinking that for Shawn to go to Lassiter for help it would simply take circumstances that would force him into a situation where he would have to look for a new sounding board to bounce theories off of. But then I remembered that Shawn can't be sure Lassie wouldn't put him in jail. Personally, I think Lassie would find every excuse he could to not charge Shawn with anything (though he might enjoy him behind bars for a while). Nonetheless, I highly doubt Shawn would know this. So really I can't currently think of anything, but my curiousity is certainly piqued.

I was so happy when the power finally came on! Unfortunately, it means I'm getting a very late start on my screencapping. I'll have 'em done tonight, but it's gonna take some super fast moving. lol! In other words, I have to stop myself from rewinding and watching Lassie scenes over and over.

If they ever have that scene in an episode of Psych they need to have Shawn wake up immediately from a nightmare. Or better yet, have that be Lassiter's nightmare. Hilarity ensues.


Topic of Lassiter/Shawn working relationship & friendship:

I am pleased that the show evolved away from Lassiter always being the "stick in the mud" stiff, hard-ass, anti-hero cop all the time. That just gets old after a while. Lassiter was definitely more antagonistic towards Shawn in the first few episodes of season 1, and has since progressed to the point where he actually seeks out Shawn's help at times and has a healthy working interaction. That's evident in the dialogue, walking while in groups, sitting around tables discussing cases, etc. I also like the fact that Lassiter shows Shawn respect by getting the motorcycle back as a reward for freeing an innocent woman. I think Lassiter (obviously) knows that Shawn is not psychic, but has exceptional observational skills, and secretly has great respect for that ability. I do think it would be a great plot to see Shawn seek out Lassiter's help for a case he knows he can't solve on his own. Kind of an expansion of when he sought Lassiter's help in "Gus Walks Into a Bank". (I haven't seen this episode yet but I've heard about it.) Plenty of room to develop both characters.
