We know Monk was given 100 trophies by Natalie and Julie but how many murders has Monk solved? In "Paperboy" he solved a murder in France just by reading about it in the paper and in "Mexico" he solved the murder which was related to another murder he had testified at. So just how many murders has Monk really solved.

Can anyone remember any other episode where he solved more than one murder.

I'm still playing catch up with these episodes--I've only seen about half, maybe less. Just saw The Panic Room today. He didn't solve more than one crime but this episode is the most hilarious one I've seen so far. I laughed so hard, tears were streaming down my face.

Well, u asked about murder not case therefore i think it doesnt matter that the murderer was the same person rolleyes.gif , than maybe in the pilot ( bodyguard, Nicole Vasques and Mike), in the other woman (lawyer and Monica's neighbor), in the circus episode (ex-husband and the elephant guy), in the very, very old man (old man and the security guard), in the 12th man (10th, 11th, 12th wictim), in stays in bed ( judge and pizza guy), in the fashion show ( 2 top modell), in the really dead guy (girl and street musician), in the masterpice episode (hook and the owner)

I'm sure this list isn't perfect but i just thought about these smile.gif

I was thinking about Fashion Show when I read the first thread. In addition to the two models, there was also the musician who was murdered by the cellist wife. That was solved in the first scene.

In order to know how many, we'd probably have to do a Kevin Dorfman style running list of every episode. smile.gif

There were a lot of cases with multiple murders, and the solutions to old murders in the process. In Mexico there were actually two murders of college kids from SF to revenge Monk's testifying to another murder. Is that 3?

Then there were killings to cover up other killings.

If we really want to know the total number, I guess we'd have to start with the pilot and go from there.

Also in The Paperboy, Monk solved a hit and run murder, just by reading the paper.

Yes, I remembered the hit and run, but I couldn't remember if the victim had died. But the shop clerk also killed her accomplice. So there's yet another one in the same episode.

I will have to check on the hit and run victim. Glad you remembered the accomplice murder. Monk was on a roll in this episode. smile.gif

I'm going to have to rewatch that episode - and I thought I remembered it! You guys are good.

Can you think of any other episodes where Monk solved more than one case?

I think in "12th Man" he solved all 12, not just the last 3. They were all the same guy. Are we counting the books?

We could count the books if you would like. I only have the first two so I'm not up on what is in the books. We could include cases he's solved that don't include murder.

Wish I had the DVD sets, fast-forwarding through VCR tapes with scrambled seasons is a pain in the butt, er, I mean finger, ya, that's what I meant.

I don't know why this fascinates me so much except to say I often miss things when I'm watching the episodes so I really like the discussions because then I can go back and rewatch; finding the things I missed.

I've been on too many meds that fog my memory - I'm weaning off them, slowly and guess what, my memory is getting better with the fog lifted.

You're relentless...

OK, let's start the Dorfman-style list. Here's what we have so far, with a couple of additions:

Goes to Mexico - 3 murders, one in which Monk testified, and the two college student killed on spring break.

Goes to the Circus - 2 murders, the Ringmaster and the elephant trainer.

Twelth Man - 12 murders, 11 jurors and 1 wife.

Paperboy - 4 murders, the paperboy, the hit and run, the handcuffed woman in France, and the accomplice.

Takes His Medicine - 1 murder - the guard in the old armored car heist. (The woman is actually a suicide).

Fashion Show - 3 murders - two models and the cellist's husband.
