Full Version: Heat on Coach, Changes to Announcers on WWE TV

Hey guys, listen to this:

Jonathan Coachman has been taking a lot of heat recently because he is not doing near that job that JBL was doing and doesn’t offer much. An incident happened a few weeks ago where the Undertaker was brawling by the announcers table, and Coach stayed in position when the action came close when he was suppose to run away to sell danger. He was punished by having to go to the ring after a show and take several main eventers’ finishes. He took a tombstone from Undertaker, a spear by Batista, and a shillelagh shot from Finlay.

Speaking of the commentary on WWE television, Vince is giving the announcers a new direction while calling matches. Vince wants more storytelling and less calling holds. Instead of screaming during major angles (like they do on TNA) he wants the announcers to lay out and not say anything. The feeling is that the programming will feel more “real” and not as “staged” with fewer/weaker voices. Joey Styles in particular has been told to announce more low-key and not to raise his voice, and to stop calling moves so often. This is basically a 180 degree direction from what made Styles so popular and such a good announcer. Jim Ross has also been given similar direction.

I much rather hear the moves than some of the stories. dry.gif

I perfer hearing the moves to,I can learn something that way,Just watching the show i can see what they story is,i dont need the announcers telling me a story! And about Coach,I think he is doing an OK Job,Of course he's not going to be like JBL,...even King isn't as good as JBL,he has his own style,Coach is Ok and he will get better as time goes by!

Boy that is a really dumb ass idea Vince.

The biggest reason we all like J.R., Michael & Joey is the fact that they get so exciting, and get you pumped into the match. It's a momemtum builder for the TV audience.

How would you like watching a football game, and when the touchdown comes, you very low-key say "and touchdown within seconds. The Giants win the Super Bowl... next week on CBS - the Pro Bowl, be sure to tune in".

Huh?

Vince sometimes you make Russo look genious, I swear to God. dry.gif

Well you know something?

I agree with all of you!

I mean, when the NWA was still cooking, they would let the announcers call the action, the same thing w/the AWA, WCW, ECW, The Indies and of course, TNA!

But as for the WWE, it is RIDICULOUS!

and also, during 2006 while Jim Ross was recovering from surgery, Vince McMahon has fussed @ Joey Styles and Jonathan Coachman for calling all of the action and not telling stories, and he also wanted them to tell stories about the Live Sex Act and they did not want to do it!

and I don't blame them!

But Vince McMahon has NEVERED fussed @ Jim Ross, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Michael Cole, JBL, Todd Grisham, Tazz nor did he fuss @ Todd Grisham or Josh Mathews!

But it is SAD as to what Vince McMahon is doing to Joey Styles and Jonathan Coachman!
Axl
Vince is a moron.

How fracking boring will that be. I don't want to hear about the damn storylines all the time, i want to hear yelling because that way it keeps interest.

Well like I said, he's fussed @ Joey Styles and Coach, but has nevered fussed @ Jim Ross or Jerry "The King" Lawler!

and also, Joey Styles said that when he was in ECW, he was the unscripted, uncensored loose cannon of commentary and Coach has been a broadcaster outside of the WWE!

Vince has TOTALLY LOST IT!
