I'm sorry, but House's comments about Omar Epps have reached capacity for humor. I am a person who tries or finds humor in everything. I balk at people who take themselves too seriously and joke with my friends of different sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, religions, etc, about how silly people are who don't joke about this stuff.

But House needs to freakin' stop. References to Epps character as a slave - "come on down to the plantation Mandingo" - are not only unfunny at this point, but insulting without the presence of some other racial character on the show who could recieve the same sort of insults. What can he say to the other white doctors that are nearly as horribly hostile as calling Epps back to the Plantation?

Does USA really need to cloak blatant racism in the guise of humor? There are other ways to be funny - ask the writers for Psych if you need help over at House...

Hi Bubba here, that's the way House is. Sometimes it bother me though. Fox owns House not USA.

Actually, NBC Universal owns USA and according to USA Network's FAQ NBC Universal is responsible for the production of House. I'm not saying that Fox isn't responsible, I'm just saying they aren't soley responsible.

As for the "racial jokes" well, that's House. He would pick on anyone for their difference. He doesn't discriminate with his discrimiation. He's an equal oppertunity jerk.

I find it all very funny actually.

If you don't like it, don't watch. Or at least be constructive with your complaints and CONTACT the the powers that be DIRECTLY.

If I truly felt that House was a racist, I wouldn't be able to watch this show. I don't like what he says, but I understand that it is part of his character. He's been that way since Season 1; in fact, that "Mandingo" example cited was from Season 1. As far as I remember, he hasn't uttered any ethnic slurs toward other blacks, just toward Foreman in hopes of a reaction. House insults everyone and everything, and I trust the writers to temper his remarks through the other characters. For example, House insults religious faith, but one (or more) of the supporting characters always shows the other side.

Ordinarily, I would never say, "If you don't like it, don't watch," but in this case, I'd have to agree with another poster. If this was something new to the character, then I could understand why people would start protesting now, but since racist remarks have always been part of the character of House, I accept them while blink.gif (rolling my eyes)

Again, I believe House's remarks are racist, his actions are not. (in my opinion)
