Elliot said he was going home rather than having a second beer with Olivia. He said Eli was driving Kathy crazy.

Elliot never said that he was going home rather then have a second beer with Liv so please don't make it out to seem like Elliot doesn't want to be Liv's friend. He said that he should probubly get home because Eli was driving Kathy crazy.

I bet anything Eli is probubly teething. When babies teeth, they are whinny, crabby, and fussy.

You kinda manipulated that. They asked what he said.

He didn't say anything about going home nor was there any mention of how many drinks they had. That coulda been the second or third... you never know.

No manipulation. Just a condensed version. But here is the full version:

Olivia: Do you want another one?
Elliot: I can't.
Olivia: Now I just broke up with Kurt. And you said you'd be there for me.
Elliot: I am. Eli's driving Kathy crazy.
Olivia: I'm kidding. Go home.

Olivia knew enough to know Elliot was talking about going home. And there was only one beer bottle and one used glass in front of Elliot.

I'm a bartender at Olivia Garden at home and a bartender here in S. Illinois... we usually collect the bottles and glasses before distributing more, we don't leave them lying around. Hopefully, Elliot and Olivia didn't have too many drinks (haha), but there's no way to conclude that they only had one as you claim. Oh well. This is nothing to get my panties in a twist.

At this stage, Eli is able to hold his head up, can turn over by himself (or at least trying to).

However when Elliot said that Eli was driving Kathy crazy, he didn't just get off his cell phone or anything- it looked like they were both having a drink without any phone calls or else Olivia would've said "Go home" quicker then she did instead of "want another one?". Heck Elliot could've used Eli and Kathy as an excuse to leave instead of having another drink.

Well Eli is only 5 months old at this time so he's too young to walk- maybe in season 10 but as of season 9, it's impossible.

I am happy that Elliot and Kathy are together; however, I highly doubt Elliot made up that excuse to ditch Liv and another beer... espcially when he told her he'd be there for her. Who knows how long they were sitting there and how many beers they've had. Kathy could have called him a few times prior to this scene. I hope Elliot would respond on Kathy's first call, but who knows.


While I want Elliot to be there to help Kathy with Eli, I'm hoping more that they didn't just enter the bar and before Olivia's even finished with her first drink... Elliot's already to go and makes up an excuse. Lame.

Through-out the show's run, the only alcohol drink I've seen Elliot drink is beer seen in Chat Room, Popular, Pandora, Redemption, Underbelly, Loss- with exception to the bottle of Chianti in ...Or Just Look Like One.

Elliot has had other types of alcohol to drink in a number of episodes. In Shaken, he had something in a shot glass in the bar at the end. In Dependant, he is in his apartment and pours himself something out of a bottle.

What about that episode where he was being called a "killer cop." I don't remember the name, but I'm pretty sure he was holding vodka or something with a shot glass.... and wasn't he at the bar in that episode about shaken baby syndrome. Um... Um...DANGIT!! My mind's totally going blank... I'm awesome at naming episodes, but right now I just SUCK!

It was Dependent S.8 Darn I loved the episode

Oh... hee hee. I just thought of what the second one was called... the one about shaken baby syndrome...it's called SHAKEN. Duuuuhhhh!

It makes more sense that Elliot called Kathy after Olivia told him she needed someone to talk to. I doubt Kathy would have a problem with Elliot staying to have a drink and talk to Olivia. But if Eli was driving her crazy, she would have asked to have it not be too late. Her need to have a break from the baby trumps Olivia's wanting to talk about breaking up with her boyfriend. That explains Elliot's not having another drink and Olivia's not pressuring him to stay.

Yeah...I agree; that makes sense. I know Elliot wouldn't choose a beer and socializing over Eli. And it doesn’t really matter to me who called who. My point was that Elliot didn't want to leave Kathy alone taking care of Eli and that's why he left. I doubt he made that story up as an excuse. That's ludicrous. I also doubt they were sitting there for a short time. I can’t really say how many beers or drinks they had because nobody really knows that. All I can do is guess…


On another subject…

Did anyone hear about seeing Kathy again this season?

It has been 15 years since Kathy had a baby....I am sure Eli is driving her nuts, but in a good way....She hasn't changed diapers, waking up with a newborn in the middle of the night, or pumped in a long time...I am sure that is what is driving her nuts...just talking about it drives me nuts...lol..Elliot was there for Olivia and stayed as long as he could...

Dang. 15 years? I never thought about that... What a gap!

I hope she comes back for the rest of this season! So far just Authority, Trade, and Cold are left to air and I wouldn't have any idea which episode of those she would be in. I hope at least in Authority and Trade considering that Cold sounds more like a "Lake" episode as well as a finale, also saying goodbye to Casey. I wouldn't imagine Kathy having a part in that episode.

Mmm.. I agree. I don’t think it would be a big deal. I am thinking really hard right now and I can’t imagine even one scene that they were in together. I could be wrong though. With exception to the “old” members of the squad, I don’t think Kathy is really close with anyone else like Lake and Casey… the reason being because she and Elliot’s relationship was on thin ice so she didn’t visit the squad as much. I don’t think she knows Lake and Casey on a personal basis.


I wish they would show that more though. It's kinda hard to warm up to Kathy knowing she's only nice around Elliot. I've never seen her interact with the Captain, Fin etc...

In Birthright, Casey found Elliot playing basketball with the twins, saying that Kathy told her that she would find Elliot there at the court- so Casey and Kathy had obviously met, it just happened to be off screen. Kathy had been to the station a few times, Count Down, Popular, Risk, Clock, Screwed- so Cragen, Olivia, Munch, and Fin must have seen her, politely say hello. In Risk, Munch even told Elliot to take a break when he saw Kathy enter the room. In Game, Cragen said that Kathy dropped Dickie off, telling him that she couldn't wait any longer; in Cage, Cragen had called Kathy, letting her know that he had been stabbed (by a pen) and in Paternity when he went to the car crash scene, arranging the ambulence to take Kathy to the hospital, blocking traffic.

By the end of the season they'll have Dickie growing a beard.. LMAO!!!

Well I wasn't surprised that Kathy was in last year's finale, Screwed. Once the pregnancy news hit the waves that was to be in the finale and of course the "reveal" in Annihilated was kinda obvious that she would appear.

Didn't Chris and Mariska state that there will be an episode concerning Elliot's problem kid which is Kathleen?

But yeah, Chris did say that Elliot is going to have problems with his daughter. When that will air? Who knows...heck it could be a set up for season 10...I dunno. Three episodes left.

My best friend's daughter is 5 months old and she just broke in her first tooth. She actually started showing signs of teething at 4 months old. As far as we know, Eli could be a lot older then four months also. The writers have been known to get the dates wrong when it comes to the age of the kids.

Hi everybody! Call me Ingrid. Is this where I can join as Elliot-Kathy fan club? I am not an Elliot-Olivia fan. I doubt their relationship will go further more than friendship. I say Elliot is still in love with his wife Kathy as you can see how afraid he was ( Paternity) to lose Kathy and their baby.

Thank you irisheyes and dob4l for the warm welcome. I'm sure to have fun posting in here to avoid stress from home and work. I'd say that Elliot is a perfect man for Kathy. They may not have a perfect marriage, but I believe whatever situation they have now, things will work out again.

I don't think ANYONE has a perfect marriage- if that's possible well...they aren't normal! I think Elliot and Kathy have a marriage that's thick and thin yet impossible to break.
