If Monk had been a classic movie, who would be cast in the roles?

My cast:

Monk-James Stewart
Natalie- Jean Arthur
Stottlemyer- Spencer Tracy
Disher- Eddie Bracken
Sharona- Barbara Stanwyck

Yea i like a couple of those. Disher and Eddie Bracken. Thats really good. And a couple more i agree with too.

Monk - If James Stewart wasn't available, I think William Powell or a 'nerded up' Cary Grant.
Natalie - Has to be the girl next-door, so I'm thinking Myrna Loy.
Stottlemeyer - Spencer Tracy works for me, too.
Disher - Keenen Wynn
Sharona - I like Barbara Stanwyck too, but Ginger Rogers could also do a decent Sharona...or Betty Grable.
Julie - a young Elizabeth Taylor has my nod over Judy Garland or Shirley Temple.
