in the episode 65 million years off, spencer uses the line to respond to lassiter's comments about not needing him, spencer says, "where did you get that suit, the toilet store?"
my question to the viewers is, was this line deliberately stolen from the movie "anchorman," or was it a cheap attempt at the writers to slip something by.
i understand that movie references are very popular, but would most people know that this line was taken from that movie??

I recognized the line from "Anchorman," but I think that it was a ref. to the movie just for fun. It seems to me that the writers love to slip references like that into the episodes.
Yeah... Roday and Hill and well known for Ad-libbing lines based on their favorite movies, most of them lesser known 80s movies. The fact that you actually caught the reference is coolm abd tge writers want you to catch them, (I think). For instance, they have a Zoolander reference in Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion, and Lou Diamond Phillips movie references in Psy vs. Psy. It's just something fun to notice when you catch them.

I think the point we are all trying to make here is that it's just so much better when Shawn says it. You know.. as Will Smith said, "You know what the difference between you and me is? I make this look good!" LOL
