Am I the only one who thinks they could possibly ship?

Maybe I'm crazy? But I think Shawn and Juliet seem very forced. I like the natural chemistry of Lassie and her.

Am I alone on this?

And I pretty much scewed up the poll -.-

I don't think they would make a good couple. Sorry. smile.gif

Sorry, but I'm all for Shules. Later, not now. But regardless of Shawn, I don't really like Jules and Lassie. They're great as friends.

yah i agree...since we know shawn did/does have a thing for jules ot would be wierd to see him not get what he wanted and even more wierd to see lassy get it

I honestly love the ship despite the fact I know it'll probably never happen. Shawn/Juliet is just soooo boring and overly predictable.

Anyway, if you have an LJ I invite you to join the Lassiet community: http://community.livejournal.com/lassiter_juliet/ 53 members and goin' strong! xD

I think Lassiter is a bit to old for Jules. I think it would be sweet if jules/shawn got together but since its more of a comedy than a drama (which is a good thing) I don't think it would last. Thats why they should do it at the very last episode of the series. smile.gif

but if they did it at the end of the series then that would leave us all hanging...and crying...
PineappleRules11
I concur. It would be a million times to weird. I prefere a Shules ship at the end of the series

I enjoy the relationship that Lassiter and Juliet have now. The whole, you're my partner, I've got your back and I care for you kinda friend thing. I'm very much into Shawn and Juliet, but that's not gonna happen til like the end of the series.

I like the kind of hinting towards both shules and... julassi? jassi? lasules? Do we have a couple word for them? Personally I kind of like Julassi. Reminds me of Jurassic park

JULASSI PARK

A vacation filled with awkward silences!

...anyways

I like the fact the both relationship options are left open. There are hints towards both and personally I like that kind of platonic ambiguity. Where as I see Shawn and Jules as a easy match there is a sort of awkward compatability between Lassiter and Juliet. And yeah we had the big "almost kiss" scene at the end of Bounty Hunters but we have to ask ourselves how long the couple would last, given Shawn's track record with previous women. Lassiter (as we've seen) has trouble with social skills altogether (it's pretty adorable) and in that way I think Juliet has something to teach both characters about openness and... sharing their "feelings." *shudders*

all joking aside I don't rule out a Julassi (god I love that smush name biggrin.gif) or a Shules because it really could go either way at this point. I'm sure the writers will keep us all on the edge of our seats guessing.

I wouldn't hold your breath on either pairing. tongue.gif

I see this show for what it is, a light, fluffy comedy, and Shules is the obvious ending for such a show. However, Julassi, (lol), has the potential for a GREAT arc. Can you imagine the possible situations and laughs that could arise from this... it could totally knock us off our feet laughing.

I have to agree. Even though the writers may sidestep and toy with the notion of Julassi in the show, in the end it's straight up Shules. It's like Rascal Flatts says, "Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars pointing me on my way into your loving arms." LOL. (Bless The Broken Road for those of you who think you are 'above' country music. lol) But seriously, Lassie and Jules... bad couple, and not just because of the age difference. They just couldn't mesh. They make a killer team but they would make terrible lovers. Jules is too.. lets face it.. too much like Shawn. Which is why in the end.. (28 seasons from now ROFL) we will finally see the culmination of the glory we like to know as Shules. laugh.gif

I see Lassie as more of a "big brother" figure to Juliet, rather than a potential date. We definitely know that he cares about her, ("The Old and the Restless", anyone?), but I think that it's more of a partner-to-partner relationship. That's just my opinion, though.

And I agree. Lassie, I think, is about 35, and well, we know Jules is one of the younger people, so it wouldnt really mesh. Plus, I think Lassie should get paired up with a hard ass, just like him, to give him a tast of his own medicine! laugh.gif

When Lassie's old partner was his girlfriend she got transferred. I don't want Jules to be transferred!! Haha that's not the only reason why I don't like the idea but just a point.

I think either Shules or Julassi could work, depending on how well the writers pull it off. Also, I agree we probably will not find out either way for a while.

I just need to stress that as a woman under 25 who thinks older guys are da bomb... i don't get where everybody flips over the age thing. The graying sideburns, mature mannerisms thing... so hot. Its just a type of suave thats ala George Clooney, Harrison Ford and Pierce Brosnan. I'm 22 and I think Lassie is all that and a bag of chips. (Hodges from CSI too but thats a whole nother ballgame. LOL) Seriously... the age thing is NOT the big no-factor for Julassi. It's the differences in personality. Even if they were 2 years apart, the nature of their relationship would still come off as brother-sister.

Here, here! I'm 17 and feel exactly the same way about the age thing. But not so much the personality thing.

I can see them coming off as "brother-sister" since they compete quite a bit. The whole sibling rivalry thing. But I think that's just all engaged by Lassie, the man cannot be second banana to anyone. And while they do have different personalities some do think that opposites attract. Jules foils Lassie well and in many ways I think she's changed him since they've been partnered up. Although Lassie's still a hardass but he's no where near the level he was at the start of season one. Plus there's occasional little Julassi (xD I call it Lassiet, but whatever floats your shipping boat) moments in the shows that I've noticed. So I find them interesting together. I like the awkward, different couples rather than the whole perfect together, exactly alike, boring couples.

Lassiter already dated his partner (Remember, the pilot episode when Lassiter and Lucinda were trying to keep their relationship a secret). Juliet already told Lassiter that she does not believe in interoffice relationships. So, I don't think the writers would ever pair them up as lovers.

The tension between Lassiter and Juliet is pretty much becoming my only reason for watching for Psych. I adore it. The show is about opposites completing each other, and Juliet and Lassie are definitely opposites, and yet they want the same things. They get each other, they accept each other completely (even though they bicker), and they make each other whole. As for their competitive streak, this could be argued to be their way of flirting with each other, so I really don't see the brother/sister comparison at all.

From a storytelling standpoint, the show is all about the relationship between Shawn and Gus. Juliet and Lassiter have come to mirror that relationship. If the show begins to focus too much on Shawn/Juliet, then the pairs that compliment each other are broken up, which in turn messes up the dynamics of the show. And let's be honest, Shawn/Juliet is a completely shallow relationship. They like each other because they're pretty and charming. Where's the substance? There's nothing there. With Lassiter and Juliet, they are already developing a deep and caring relationship. Also, Juliet and Lassiter are supporting characters, therefore no time has to be spent on their private lives, so we'd only see their relationship from the workplace, which is how we already see them. Nothing would drastically change, whereas shifting the focus from Shawn/Gus to Shawn/Juliet would seriously mess up the show. Juliet and Lassiter could easily get married and not much would change (they already act like a married couple anyway, especially in the season 2 finale). In fact, we could get many comedic situations from Juliet and Lassiter being married. A few of my friends have pointed out that their dynamic is very much like Doris Day and Rock Hudson, and I completely agree with them. Juliet and Lassiter are fun to watch. Shawn/Juliet puts me to sleep. On a show about opposites completing each other, it just wouldn't make sense to pair up the only two characters who are pretty much the same.

Actually, scratch what I said, you put it perfectly. Nice to see someone else who strongly supports the couple. :3

Haha again I'm not very opinionated on the matter, I see the genuine appeal of Shawn and Juliet but I also see the contradictive (and yet completely well matched) personalities of Lassie and Jules. I think it's something the writers will continue to toy with, but I don't see any real base for either relationship at this point. Shawn I think really isn't to terribly emotionally stable. The only real stability he's had in his life has been his dad and Gus and so I think he's scared of staying with one thing for too long. And with that issue I think it was a very good move to bring his mom back into the picture, maybe to resolve some of his commitment issues. And with Lassie... it's complicated. I think he might be wary of another office relationship and of course Juliet's against that as well, but his character is quite unexplored at this point. There are a lot of things we don't know about Lassiter, that could potentially make or break the Julassi (I feel special tongue.gif) ship. With Shawn we can infer a lot about his character from what we've seen of glimpses of his home life. We can guess that he's hiding something about his childhood. We can guess that something big happened with his parents divorce. We can guess all we want about Shawn but with Lassiter it's tougher because we don't get the same kind of insight into Lassie's personal/home life. At this point I just don't think we have enough information to definitively say which pairing is going to thrive. I think both open up a lot of comedic opportunities, and that it will be exciting to see what comes next, but it really is a hard call to make.

Haha for not being very opinionated on the matter I certainly went on quite a rant there.
