NBC is hoping to give Friday Night Lights a third season by sharing it with other networks.
The show, which is a favourite of critics and has a cult following, could be broadcast across various channels to give it the support needed for a renewal.
Those said to be in talks with NBC are CW, Comcast Entertainment Networks, TNT and DirecTV.
A deal would see the show aired in different slots across channels in the model of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. It went out on USA Network first, then on NBC a few months later.

So what's the deal?!
I know fans were sending in Light Bulbs to NBC, but they hardly made a mark. NBC was forced to scrap the show after terrible ratings, but suddenly they feel compelled to bring it back and are giving it a leg up trying to gather support.
The ONLY explaination?

On March 5, 2007 Media Life Magazine reported that Friday Night Lights is one of the most popular shows among "affluent viewers." This was determined using a report from Magna Global who in turn used analysis done by Nielsen Media Research. Affluence in the study was determined by yearly income.
Even that's a stretch. The show tanks in the ratings so much even a few rich people buying an advertised product here and there wouldn't make a difference. But they obviously want to try and get the ratings up.
Well good for that show, I guess, but what about The 4400? Yes, I'm being greedy here. Do we only have poor College kids like me watching? Lol. We need a study showing that Bill Gates watches our show or something like that.
I just thought it was interesting and got me wondering how USA Execs may differ from NBC Execs, and maybe we should expand and go out towards the parent company to see any possible responses from them. Maybe give the NBC HQ a call, something like that.
I should go before I'm late to class! Just wanted to throw this up, something to think about.
