Hargitay won't be out long
Ailing "Law & Order: SVU" star Mariska Hargitay should be back on the case soon.
The Emmy-winning actress "is recovering well and is expected to return to 'SVU' in the next couple of weeks," spokesman Gary Mantoosh said Tuesday.
Hargitay was hospitalized last week after feeling discomfort from a partially collapsed lung, a condition she has had at least since mid-January.
She is expected to miss filming just one episode, said Mantoosh.

Did anyone see the YT video of TV guides returning shows? It is a year old, but there is like a 20 second clip in the video of Mariska being in a photoshoot. She is so stinkin cute!!

This is only a rumor that has resurfaced! Until MH says so herself, its untrue!
Remember, it IS from an unreliable resource. (The National Enquirer-- what else do you expect?) The article caught my eye. I'll believe it when MH says so herself. I can totally see her leaving the show because of her health. She already wants to spend more time with her family. Only time will tell. I'm gonna be patient and wait for MH to say anything when she recovers.

Here's another thought for you--the National Enquirer is a tabloids--they're out to get the news. They could have very easily stretched something Mariska said and taken it completely out of context. Case in point--how many articles have we read where they mention that she's taking time off for her health. You could very easily turn that around and reword it to say that Mariska is leaving SVU to take care of her health. Mariska herself has said it on her blog. It's a relative term that's up for interpretation depending on the facts you use to support it. And the facts they're using to support it come from an article where MH was asked what would make her turn over her badge. There's no time element included in their quote. Mariska did leave SVU to take care of her health. She tried not to the first time around, and she found out that wasn't enough. So this time she decided to leave. However, she's anticipating this "leave" to only last for a couple of weeks. I'd trust Ausiello and SVUMac (both of which are very encouraging about the fact that MH is coming back not just at the end of this season, but hopefully for next year).

Here is another article on E that states Neal Baer's confirmation of Mariska's return. Breath Mariska fans. She's going to be back and to be honest, even if she doesn't come back then it's totally understandable. I would much rather her get back to health and rest then struggle through the season and collapse again.

So, i totally had a crying spell over an article in a well known magazine that is not for its rumors and gossip on celebs, that contained an article of MH.
everyone here is or was talking about it, so i won't go into grave detail about it. Just a rumor that MH will be leaving the show. It said that "she was wanting to give August a bro or sis soon, this ailment has persuaded her to think she doesn't have anything else to prove on the show".

My schedule can get pretty packed, to say the least. Between motherhood, work, friends, travel and my foundation, it sometimes feels like a small miracle that I’m actually where I’m supposed to be when I’m supposed to be there. She's been a bit under the weather, missed shooting an episode ("L&O: SVU") as you all know.
Now...the news...She returns to the set Monday.

Thanks for the info, that sounds good. Hillary Duff guest staring should be good, hopefully Chris is in episode, it's been a while since first time he worked with Gail he was hurting her (Every 9 Seconds) now he's here to the rescue, hopefully.

Oh THAT'S who Gail O'Grady is?! Yes! I love her! I really hope Chris is in this one as well... I dunno... for me there's just somethin about actors and actresses being on screen together who have shared a past (acting wise). I enjoyed Every 9 Seconds. I first watched it before I became a fan of SVU and I didn't make the connection that the character on the movie was Chris until I watched it again like a year or so ago. I'm kinda excited about this episode now. I enjoyed Gail's acting.

It saddens me to read about all the trips to the hospital and the surgery and all the time spent in the recovery room for her.. and as if thats not hard enough the rumors that have been circling the air lately are ridiculous! but any way lets all say a prayer for her. we all know she deserves it! she is a hard working, loving , BIG hearted woman!

Well...I don't have a lot to say about Britney Spears, except sadly, her real LIFE could have been an L&O episode by now.
Miley and Hilary don't bother me as much...though it's hard for me to think of my daughters' idols on MY show!
But remember...somewhere along the way, Mariska was a young, up and coming actress, trying to catch a break.
(I'll bet some of the old time Falcon's Crest watchers were totally ANNOYED with that Carly Fixx character!)
For these youngsters...to be able to say someday that they worked on set with Mariska Hargitay...would certainly be a feather in their cap! They can learn a lot from her.

!!I agree with Lori here. It's a great experience for these young actors--we'll see what she does with it. I'm not going to pass a judgment until I see the episode. I'm crossing my fingers they will be shooting outdoors. If I can find them, I will do my best to get some pics. I made sure to bring my camera just in case.

MH was filming again today. She looks great so hopefully the time off did her some good. She was laughing and joking around in between takes and being her usual self. I think they might be easing her back in though because they finished up with her pretty early and sent her home which is fine by me--I hope she takes it easy. I don't know how it's possible to make a goofy and sexy expression but... she pulls it off well. I only know how to do one or the other!

Of course in special cases tey might, but I wouldn't count on it. Just remember if you come up during the week, you never know if they'll be on the street filming or in the studio in Jersey (which is a closed set).
