To admin and writers: C'mon, guys, remember your target group! Last night's show had more expletive deletives than I've seen so far - Was the writing so bad that you felt you had to do something to spice it up? Next time, dump the writing and give us your usual good storyline without the gross language - it adds nothing to the plot and detracts from the characters and the quality of the series.

I remember a$$ and holy crap. Come on, this is cable and it's an adult show so a few here and there isn't bad. I mean at least there isn't a lot of sex and stuff. It's not that bad. My 11 year old was in the room when Gus said something like "let's go get that son of a b*itch." I told her there was some bad language in the show and she shook her head "yes". But it's not THAT bad, kids under say 13 shouldn't watch.

Remember, these characters are dealing with grisly crimes a lot, I have yet to meet a person who works in homicide who did NOT swear, it's realistic. It may offensive to some, but really, it would be even more unrealistic than it already is if they eliminated the swearing. You and I may not like it, but accept the fact that even children will hear swearing somewhere, even if not on their TV. It's a fact of life.

It sure wouldn't have been near as funny if Gus hadn't used "son of a b*tch" in the line about the mummy driving. I wasn't expecting him to cuss so I found it hilarious. I don't know why people keep trying to make this show something that it's never been, a show for younger audiences.

I noticed the increased explitives as well, but none of them bothered me. I didn't even take much notice of the holy crap comment. All of them seemed to fit though, and aided the dialouge rather than just being unnecesary. The only thing that I thought was uncalled for was the mention of certain male genetalia when the chief was telling Lassy, Jules and Shawn she was stepping down. They could have definitely come up with something more funny and less risque in that situation. I was like 'whoa, Shawn, you seriously did not just go there'. I think that Shawn's character is smart enough to not have to sink that low for a cheap laugh.

I agree, and like I said, the language wasn't that bad. I mentioned my daughter in my post because when Gus swore, I looked at her like I should put my hands over her ears, LOL, yet at the same time I know she's probably heard it before and those are kind of the "clean" swear words kids hear. Like I said, it's better than too much sex on the t.v. At least I can put Psych on without worrying about whether people are going to be in the sack or whatever. I think the confusion with Psych is that it is right on the edge of a family show and an adult show. But it is for adults and teens too I guess.
Bubba_Bridges
Hi Bubba here, it didn't really bother me all that much.
ShawnSpencer
I could not stop laughing when gus said the b word when talking about the mummy. I'm still laughing now!

I'm wondering if that wasn't an adlib of James' and therefore wasn't in the script? Be interesting to find out. If you watch the bloopers on the season 1 DVD set, James comes up with a similar adlib, a reference to the movie "Big Daddy".

Maybe I have a super-sniffer, too. I smell troll.

They are on disc 1, look under special features. There are no psych outs though.

Nothing bothers me. I believe that curse words are just words. Humans made them up... humans deemed them bad... its all a cycle of stupid. Here you go, I'm inventing a word. Spadoinkal. It is the nastiest curse word on earth. All others pail in comparison. I said so... so it must be true... now tremble in it's presence! *rolls eyes* Please cite George Carlin and Dane Cook for men who rant wonderfully on the subject. LOL.

Just because it's something I like to mention, I'll go a bit off topic. I find Dane Cook to pale in comparison to Demetri Martin. Martin is hilarious, especially when he uses his large pad, and there is even proof that Dane Cook steals his jokes. Watch a Demetri Martin skit that involves the large pad, ALMOST all of them are amazing.
ShawnSpencer
That was completely off topic! laugh.gif smile.gif
But I'm with Psychbabe007. It dosn't bother me.
MooseyDLK
Demitri Martin is love. So is Mitch Hedburg.

[/offtopic] xD

But on topic, I feel the same way about cusses as PsychBabe does. I'm used to them I guess.
psychphan
I have no problem with them...sometimes they crack me up, like what Shawn said about Lassy in the beginning of the finale...lol.

the writers of South Park (trey parker and matt stone) made up spadoinkal. it was in there first movie..Cannibal the musical. just wanted to clarify that.
xxSHAWNandGUSxx
i think psych is doing a fine job but the less cursing the better but either way i'll be addicted till i die =)
