Full Version: Has anyone ever been to a LIVE Raw Event?

Just wondering amongst all Raw fans, if anyone can share some insight on going to a live event.
I really would love to go, with my daughter, who is almost 7 and also was asked if I went to bring along a cousin who is 9. I was looking in the Northeast area... mainly PA or NJ. I found the tickets that are selling ringside to be over $800.00 and up. I thought that would be the best place to be. But, I also heard because of taking my daughter, to watch for flying beer bottles and such. Are the events REALLY that much per ticket? and are they dangerous?

Thanks for any info shared in advance smile.gif
Bubba_Bridges
Hi Bubba here, I have never been to an event.
babaganoosh
I've never been to a live event, but I don't think that it's that expensive. I could see some seats reaching a couple or few hundred dollars, but 800 is a bit much IMO.

In terms of safety, it all depends on the night. For the most part, when you compare to other sporting events, wrestling fans are definitely rougher.
Shayster
I thought that $800.00 was a high price too, but they are even higher than that!! Maybe because I am looking so far in advance (show is in May in NJ), maybe closer to the date they will go down...hopefully smile.gif I was sooooooo upset I had missed it when it was in my area... 15 mins. away...(when Vince's limo got blown up). Maybe they'll be back...maybe not.
Thanks again for the info.

Back in the Attitude Era. It was in St. Paul. It was fun. And its no more dangerous then going to a Rock N' Roll concert or going to a hockey game.
Shayster
But are these prices greatly inflated or really what ringside seats go for? I know sometimes you gotta pay to play...

I've never heard of $800 ringside for RAW. Ever. That's beyond too much. I think over $100 sounds about right. Typical prices, no different than say a regular season baseball game.

Hell, WM tix scalped ain't $800 bones.

And as Slash says it's no different than a rock concert. Probably actually a bit more family-friendly, seeing how rock concert can get dicey. I went to a GN'R show a couple years ago, and there was drunks, drug usage, sex & fights, so not really the place for the 7-year old John Cena fan.

Yeah i don't know exactly how much the tickets are but thats alot. Ah, person that i know got this past World Series tickets on pre-sale two weeks before the actual game for about $800.

Yeah i went to a Motley Crue concert during the Carnival of Sin tour, and besides the actual stage being pretty dicey itself (it was really cool no doubt) the stuff that i happened to be around isn't something you want kids to be around. It was kind of funny though because some of the people were a little trashed. Anyways a RAW event won't be exactly like that though there could be people drinking (if they sell alcohol at the venues).
Shayster
Thanks all for the information...I appreciate it.
Slash...I AM SURE the Motley Crue concert ROCKED...
and AXL...she is actually a Jeff Hardy fan...we rock out to his theme song...she takes after MOMMY smile.gif
But if she needed to pick Cena or Orton? it would be Cena...but now its A triple threat match with HHH and she likes him more than Cena. We also rock out to Motorhead smile.gif No spitting water though smile.gif

Again, thanks... and I will keep my eye on the tix and hope their prices will go down closer to the date.

I've never been to a Live Raw event. I have been to house shows. Maybe because it's on tv, the cost is more?
Axl
I believe shows that are to be telecast whether RAW or SD/ECW cost more than house shows. And PPV shows cost even more than RAW/SD/ECW.

Its all about the quality to. You'll get a better quality show when you go to a taped show.

Still watching the NJ tickets... still 800+... they even go up to $1338?????? What are they smoking???
I am a fan, but who can afford that times 3????? Not I. I did notice looking at closer dates, like AZ which is soon, ringside are around 125.00 which is WAY better. I guess April is too far away to purchase, or even look at now.

Thats insane. I would wait till it gets closer. I wonder why it costs so much?
Axl
Sounds like she's dealing with a scalper.

I just checked Ticketmaster. IZOD Center / East Rutherford, NJ / 4-28-08 - it's a RAW show. The best available seat they have at this point is nosebleeds for $35 each. But even with that, the highest price ringside seat, was only $75 bucks. Just like me and you Slash, had said. About the price of a concert.

Tickets for dates past April, haven't even been announced yet, let alone went on sale.
Shayster
I searched ticketsnow.com, cheappricedtickets.com, ticketsplus.com, stubhub.com and many more sites, including ticketmaster (which I cant seem to pick rinside seats from, like the other sites.) I don't understand myself why they are so much, that was why I asked for opinions and advice, and appreciate all replies smile.gif
Shayster
and these sites are selling tickets up to July.
Axl
Be very very careful about purchasing tickets online. I know people try to beat the convience charge, but seriously, it's smart to only do business with legit companies like Ticketmaster. Truely the best way to get good seats at the best price, is usually to buy them at the venue B.O. itself. However I myself understand that alot of the time that's virtually impossible.

According to Ticketmaster, Ringside seats are already sold out for the upcoming RAW show in East Rutherford.

Sorry. sad.gif
Shayster
Is there a way to find out which of the sites I searched are ligitimate? They are all posting seats in Section 108, Row BB available. If I am going to go to this...I wanna be ringside. No nosebleeds for me, thank you...lol. How did you search for particular seats on Ticketmaster Axl? I wasn't able to do that. I just kept getting in a loop that searched for tickets, and never found anything close enough to my liking. I thought the closer the better...maybe I am wrong on this too. I want to be able to see well. Are seats in other areas actually better?? That is why I was asking to find someone who actually went to these events. Just looking for all the info I can get, before making a bad experience out of something I want to go to badly!!! I really wish they would come back to Wilkes-Barre, PA!!!!

No website is going to have seats for sale, that have already been sold. That's a quick sign. Ticketmaster says they are sold out, which means they are sold out. No going back. Point of no return.

When you go on Ticketmaster's website, and select 'Best Available', their search engine is designed to give you the best & closest seat possible. I went on TM's website and selected that, and it came up with some section 236 up in the nosebleeds.

That pretty much means any seats closer (ringside) are now sold out. Sorry.

Looks like if you want to go to a show, ringside, the April RAW show in East Rutherford this year ain't gonna be it. sad.gif

I have been to a real live WWE Raw event. It was so cool. Me ,my dad, and my ex-boyfriend went to the live Raw event when it was in Buffalo, New York. I had a blast. My exes sister paid for mine and his ticket to get in, but my dad had to pay $60 for his. But they can get expensive depending on where you buy them from.

Well here I am bringing this back! I am so excited that RAW is coming back to PA in August at he Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre smile.gif
Searched for tickets, (with TMaster) and seemed to get pretty decent seats. I am taking my daughter and my little cousin. We are going to have a blast. Wish HHH & Jeff Hardy were still on RAW...but you never know, they may show up for some reason???!!!
Anyone want a shout out from a sign??? We are looking to make a few...
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Kevin0315
get your tickets from Ticketmaster.com. hellacheaper than $800.00

i have been to a few Raws at Wilks-Barre, Pa. tickets go from $37.50-$200.00
Shayster
Oh... I AM THERE!!! Did go through Ticketmaster, actually twice smile.gif First with the pre-sale, got the best I could get, then again, once they came on sale to the public. Got better seats, and turned around and sold the others (for what I paid for them) to a friend. I finally figured out how all this ticket stuff works. Previously I was looking into 3rd party sellers. That must have been why people are trying to make a mint on selling them. Now what will really make my day/night is if HHH happens to show up on RAW that week.
Anyone know why it starts at 7:30pm, but not broadcast until 9pm? Will I see more than what we watch? More matches?
TotalRecall
Why waste good money on this fake stuff? Just wondering.

Because people enjoy "this fake stuff." Going to a wrestling venue is kind of like going to a concert. Its just a fun atmosphere. Big explosions, loud music. Plus your guaranteed to see someone get the crap knocked out of them. And i tell you, theres no faking the pain that some of the things wrestlers do.
Shayster
This is a big deal for me. I am a newly revived wrestling fan, thanks to my children & younger cousins. I watched it back when my favorites were Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and The Ultimate Warrior.
I am a stay at home mom of 2, and this is a night out for me! I would rather be around this "fake stuff", than be at a bar or somewhere else with "fake" people. Plus, taking my daughter and cousin with me, just to see THEIR expressions throughout it all will be priceless!

RSking
I've had friends who went to one... and they said if I do it to just be sure to pay the extra money to get the good seats, once your back a little the whole feel of the matches is lost.

Dear Shayster, Yes I have been to two shows. One wasn't televised and the other was RAW when Austin was with the Alliance, and they were all standing in the middle of the ring and Kurt Angle came out on that huge truck filled with milk and sprayed everone Austin, Debra, and many others who were in the Alliance, it was great and so cool smile.gif It was in Sacramento,CA. I lived in Rosevill, CA. An hour away from Sacramento. Anyway it was really great. SilverCloud27!!

2 weeks and counting down....

Shayster
Well tonight is my night!! I cannot wait! The doors open at 6:30 pm! Wachovia Arena!! 15 mins from home! Found out ECW will be there from 7:30 to 9:00pm. They are taping that. Then from 9-11 is RAW! From watching the WWE website found out that there should be alot going on... on the Sci-Fi channel tonight. Had no clue how to hook up a VCR (yes, I still have one) to the digital cable box, to tape it. Hopefully I can get my mug on TV for a brief moment, with my daughter, & cousin. Both of them are pumped. My daughter is 7 and wants to see how big Batista really is. Hopefully the seats are decent! Actually, doesn't matter at this point, cuz we are there!!!
AmbrosiaC
I have been to alot of live events and you can get tickets for like 40 bucks. but im going to wrestlemania. those tickets range from 60-800 bucks

I took my daughter for her 7th birthday. GO GO GO! It is an amazing experience and she will LOVE it. Granted you will have some cursing but we didn't have any problem w/objects being thrown. My four year old went too and had a blast it was just too long and loud for her. We went back to Smackdown earlier this month and it was great but not as good as RAW. Definitely recommend going to anyone who is a true WWE fan. Its an experience you and your daughter will never forget. Tickets run from 70-20 bucks just depending on the seat. You can usually see really well from any seat in the house.
TornadoDDT
So, its been a couple days since you went. How was it? And to answer your question, i've never been to a Raw aired on TV, but i have been to house shows. 3 actually. And the one i just went to back in August was the greatest experience ever!
Shayster
It was a pretty good time!!! I was excited when we pulled around the Arena, just to see all of the WWE trailers! We walked around and took pics of almost all of them.
We had good seats. Every now & then, watching it on TV, you would catch a glympse of us in the upper right of the TV. I tried to wave to my son, who is 4, but he couldn't see mommy...
ECW matches were good. We enjoyed D-Lo, Matt Hardy, and Finlay.I wore my camera battery out before RAW taking so many pictures.
The kids were so dissapointed when thay found out Cena wasn't going to be there. But after RAW finally started, especially the pyro...they were back into it. WOW.... LOUD!!!!
and Lillian sang the Star Spangled Banner. WHAT AN AWESOME VOICE!!! I had goosebumps!
We enjoyed seeing CM Punk, Kelly Kelly vs. The Glamazon, WHAT THE HECK IS WITH SANTINO's EYEBROW???? LOL. Jillian, who thought she could sing better than Lillian, had to come out & sing us a song. (Can't remember WHAT it was), HBK's challenge, Jerry Lawler, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Cryme Tyme, EVERYTHING really.
Mostly enjojed Batista!!! I had my Dad tape the show for my daughter, hoping to catch a shot of us, and to our surprise, we had a small close-up when he entered the ring. Look MA...I was on TV smile.gif
If they come back to the Arena, I am definately there. It was worth the money, the kids had a blast, which was why I went/took them.
One con to me was/is, you do not hear the announcers talking the play by play. I really enjoy that, so I had to wait to watch the tape to hear it.
Maybe I will post some pics, only if anyone is interested....

Hey, I was there too Shayster!

It was a decent show, though getting a speeding ticket on the way up sure sucked. lol Thanks for sharing your pics.

Yes I have been to several LIVE events in DC. I have gone to House Shows as well as live Shows. Its great experience live! Ringside prices were too much. I would need a contact on the inside to get ringside seats. I had seats in the upper level for the LIVE show and on the floor for the House shows. I have pix somewhere but this was before I had a digital camera. I may scan them and post them when I get time.

Kbug...sorry to hear about your ticket... I guess the policeman/woman didn't care you were going to see "MONDAY NIGHT RAW"
This was soooooooooooo close for me..15 minutes and we were there. Now I am keeping an eye for Smackdown to come to the Arena. From what I heard, they only do 1 WWE show here per year. Oh well...definately worth the wait. We had fun! and my daughter is still trying to get me to let her wear her John Cena necklace to school!!!!! Um..don't think so.

Haha, it's like 3 hours for me. Closest one to me is the Bob Carpenter Center here in Delaware, which is like 15 minutes from me, but we get one house show a year, and if I am paying money for a live event, I want it to be all the hoopla and all, lol. Philly and Baltimore are the closest arenas, with Philly about 45 minutes and B-More about an hour. I've gone to DC and Jersey a couple times too, as well as Texas/Oklahoma to visit a friend and a friend and I had an impulse to go down to North Carolina last summer.

I want to get to Madison Square Garden, and wouldn't mind getting to Boston and Chicago too. I think next summer we are gonna do Virginia if WWE is there.

BTW, you hit the nail on the head with Lilian. She's an amazing person, and I adore her voice. I've met her a few times and she is so cool and a really sweet, classy lady.
