Here in New York all week you heard "the favorite to win" was the beagle. It was no surprise to me to see the beagle win. At least it was the first time this breed one. There is still hope for the Sheltie's!

I did not know that was the first win for a beagle. Congratulations and best of luck to those next year.

I was at the show from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. both nights, and I heard the same thing. I don't know where people get their info! I'm just glad that a poodle didn't win again. I loved the Sealyham and thought it was a magnificent dog. The beagle was really a great dog and I agree with you. It's nice to see a breed win for the first time! The shelties were gorgeous too. If I were a Sheltie owner, I wouldn't care what the judges thought. Shelties are so smart, so beautiful and so versatile. Who cares what these judges think. I sometimes think that it's the handler that wins -- if he is well known, it wouldn't matter if he had a dog or not at the end of the leash. In 132 years, the Bulldog has only won BIS twice!! At least a Bulldog got Group Second, but I wish it had been a breed other than a poodle that took the group.
