Ted Ted all things Ted!!

When poor Leland said in that hangdog way "You don't touch me anymore"...and then he anxiously fiddled with his tie...

laugh.gif I wish the best for Leland.

I know just the thing that would cheer Leland up---a new GF and this one doesn't commit murder!

But please- not his Exwife again.
I hate her, I always mistrusted her, awww she's terrible!

What about a black-haired woman? biggrin.gif

I have a great idea for just such an eppy...and I'm gonna write it! An old flame from Leland's past comes back into his life in a big way and naturally Mr. Monk is in the thick of it. I call it MR. MONK AND THE CAPTAIN'S LOST LOVE. It's got a super duper happy ending, the best kind. I even have a nice subplot for Natalie out of the goodness of my big heart.

And the ex-wife, who's been teasing and tormenting the Captain, eats her heart out once she realizes she's lost Leland for good. Ha ha!

Might work. I think once they know when it's going to come to an end, they should finalize this facet of the show one way or another. It could still be open ended; leave a possible person for the captain, but note say for sure whether it works or not. If Glenne Headley is in fact open, I would try to close Karen's plotline at the same time (truthfully I'm against reconciliation; they just weren't happy before, so why risk further misery trying to slam a square peg into a round hole?), perhaps aiming for something Pyrrhic, that she's found success as a director, but Monk comes across her drinking and miserable, admitting to him that she feels like a failure and utterly alone (then denying the conversation with him ever took place once she sobers up). Whether Monk tells the captain about this depends on the situation, of which there are many ways to milk it.

That is one way to do it. In my script, the Captain winds up with the woman he was meant for all along...but circumstance (and some jealous human intervention) kept him from. And the ex-wife shows up at the end when all is said and done and sadly realizes that Leland is finally with his soulmate, happier with this woman than he ever was with her. Smackdown, Karen!

I wish there was an episode where his ex-wife realizes what she lost. And by then it would be too late. Then we could see Leland throw it back in her face. When you write it make sure Leland really throws it back at her. LOL

Yes, yes, a new gf for Stott. And, she should be around 5'7", slightly older than he, have brownish-reddish-blondish hair, green eyes, come from Illinois, and be totally bonkers for him raising the Eyebrow. She'll divorce her bald-headed hubby in a New York minute for a chance at Stott, and be a wonderful wife for him.

Oh, you weren't meaning a member of this board who shall remain nameless, but her initials are Memebeck. sad.gif Oh, well, a girl can dream. laugh.gif

Meme, You can have Stott. if I can have Monk. He woudn`t get on my nerves at all since most of my family are more Monkish than Monk. I don`t understand why he can`t keep friends. He is right about all the germs and danger out there!

Ok, since you're fairly new here, I promise I will be nice. (I hate it when that happens, too) But, since Tami, me, kees, stotfan, and several others were here first, we get first dibs on Stott. laugh.gif

LiMama,

Hey if you do find it in your writing to give Monk a love interest here's a thought that may work for him: A female MONK. She wears nothing but a brown suit (or whatever color it's just the same day in day out). She would absolutely be a clean fanatic and everything would need to be at right angles. Also, maybe her husband tried tragically like in a plane crash or something else drastic. Her hair is always up in a bun maybe so we could eventually see different sides of her later on in the series.

My 2 cents, (Of course if my dad were still alive he would say who asked for your 2 cents and I would say no one) but there it is anyway! biggrin.gif

Actually, Monk does have a love interest in my idea---it's the Captain's old love! But at the end of the day, Monk decides not to act on his impulses because he can't let go of Trudy...he thinks he is being noble and true but the reality is that this "romance" is only one sided and exists only in Monk's head...

Great ideas! Can't wait to read it.

Well, ...since no one else has said it yet. rolleyes.gif Randy COULD meet a 29 year old with burgandy hair, 5' 7", who lifts weights alot, was a former Army MP, & LOVES to wrestle. ....Just a thought... cool.gif

Ha, Lt. Disher is going to make a play for Leland's lost love, as the lady is going to inherit millions of dollars---she doesn't know it yet Randy and Leland do!

The Captain puts him in his place, never fear.

I'm on page 70 and closing in on the big department store shoot out scene. Then comes Monk's "here's what happened" moment and if I've done it right, all the threads should tie together nicely. And the climax when Stott gets the shock of his life. Will Leland be able to overcome his feelings of betrayal and distrust or is he going to let the love of his life slip away for the second time?

Will we get to read the final draft or do we have to wait for production of the book? LOL

When I'm done with the script I'll announce it here and put it up at my blog so those who want to can read it. smile.gif

I hope to be at the Tony chat on the 22nd and if I can, I will ask Tony if they are accepting script submissions and if so, to whom I should submit to.

I've already written a script, a family fantasy/comedy called HEAVEN SENT, and Ted plays the Dad in that one. I've entered it in a contest, wish me luck!

To see that I'm not a nutcase, check out the movie MY HORRIBLE YEAR on www.imdb.com, I wrote it. It was nominated for a Daytime Emmny and stars Eric Stolz, Mimi Rogers and Karen Allen. You can buy it real cheap on E-Bay and Amazon!

Karen Allen graduated from the high school I went to in Glenndale, Maryland. DuVal HS. She went in the 60's and I was there for only one year 79-80. I thought she did but I couldn't remember until I checked out her imdb info. Pretty kewl that you wrote the story for that movie! And I just checked you out you wrote another one too. Now I know another famous person! biggrin.gif

Thank you. I found out about the Emmy nomination after the fact. That's the writer for you, always the last to know.

I gave Randy some really good lines as he is always two steps behind and comes up with the silliest of theories.

Yes, the Captain finally comes to his senses in the nick of time...but the way I have set it up there is still one card left to play before he does. smile.gif

And with the comedy and romance and drama I believe I came up with a pretty good murder mystery too. Gotta have the murder (s) and the mystery!

Nah, I'm not THAT cruel.

First it's too long for a single eppy---right now it's 93 pages---so I either trim this sucker down or I make it into two parts. Darn.

Luckily I got the shooting script for MR. MONK AND THE FASHION SHOW today so I will study that for the formatting.

But 93 pages in one week is not bad. smile.gif

Thank you so much. I am very pleased with how it turned out. They basically did my script word for word, very minor changes. And it was Eric Stoltz's directing debut. I think Showtime missed the boat with that one, there should have been a sequel. And if it came out now, it would be a whole different ball game. I was ahead of my time!

Natalie gets Monk to play match maker. Monk solved a case for her and she owes him a favor, so he asks her to go out with the Captain, when they meet for their blind date they find out they know eachother.
Just a thougt, you can use it or not but when you finish I wanna read it! smile.gif

I never really liked Karen but was kind of dissapointed when she filed for a divorce because at the end of Mr. Monk and the Captians Wife, Leland is obviously very devoted to Karen so it was kind of sad. Though I would like to see him possibly get remarried biggrin.gif
