I look forward to this dog show every year. But I live in Seattle, and I work in healthcare, so my alarm goes off early. I have TiVo, and will record the show as usual, but I know I'm not alone in wishing that the show be broadcast live, starting at 5PM Pacific/8PM Eastern time, so we don't have to stay up late. Yes, we can wait to watch it on the DVR, but it's so disappointing when a coworker (or an internet piece or a newspaper article) ruins it for us. In fact, I just clicked on one of the local Seattle newspapers, and I already know about one of the group winners. Grrr.
Monday and Sunday Night Football games are shown live, as well as other pro football games (even if they start at 9AM our time). This is not an awards show like the Oscars, or a tape-delayed broadcast of the network's nightly news, so I really wish it could be shown live. Why not have back-to-back coverage, and show it live, then start again at 8PM? That would cover all the bases. Or, if there is an option for showing it live online, that would be wonderful.
This may be the wrong place for this, and if so, I apologize. But the network should have control over when they broadcast the show (or don't broadcast it), and it would be nice to not be pigeonholed into watching a show only when the network wants to show it.
