WWE SmackDown Leaves CW
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/080207/20080207006663.html?.v=1STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The following statement was issued today by World Wrestling Entertainment:
After a successful decade of "SmackDown" on both UPN and The CW, World Wrestling Entertainment and The CW have agreed to conclude our partnership. Since The CW's exclusive negotiation period ran out as of last Thursday, January 31, we have been contacted and have been in negotiations with other networks. "WWE SmackDown" will continue to air on The CW until the conclusion of the 2007-08 broadcast season. We are grateful to Les Moonves, Dawn Ostroff, and their entire organization for bringing "WWE SmackDown" to millions of viewers for so many years.
Great. I've only started watching SD! (& only because that's the only channel I can see WWE in HD). Any thoughts where it might end up?

Hi Bubba here, I think they might put all three brands back on one show, like before. Just have Monday Night RAW. We'll see.

I have no idea where it might end up. Maybe it will combine with ECW permanently. I hope that they move it off Friday nights though.

Hey guys, let me ask you all this:
Does anybody have the CW Cable?
I do, I mean besides Smackdown!, which other show on The CW do you like as well?
For me, it's gotta be Reba and Judge Maria Lopez.
and also, The CW also shows The Steve Wilkos Show and Bernie Mac as well.

I know right i never watch CW except here during the week from 6pm-8pm they show SIMPSONS AND FAMILY GUY,i watch those and SMACKDOWN and thats it i hate all those other shows.I really hope SMACKDOWN goes to MYNETWORKTV especially if MYNETWORKTV can put MMA up there to,they would really have a boost in ratings as more men will really watch

Nothing else that comes on the CW besides Smackdown even remotely interests me. Once Smackdown moves, I'll never watch that channel again.

Well the only thing that interest me is Judge Maria Lopez in the morning time and that's it.
and that's only b/c I don't have it on any of my local stations in my area.

Sad that it got cancelled by the CW.
Personally I think ECW will actually be trimmed, SD will be moved to Tuesdays 'live' on Sci-Fi, and ECW will be no more.

I see SD going to Sci-Fi. It will go somewhere though and ECW will get canceled. ECW is losing a lot of ratings and i don't think its up to what Sci-Fi wants ratings wise.

Bottom line is ECW is an old dead horse that has long needed a bullet in it.
It just goes to show, Vince is not the genius he thinks he is. He had SOOOOOOOO MUCH goodwill and momemtum going into the full-time ECW revival. People were hungry for it.
And he drove it into the ground. Like Heyman said, "Vince resurrected ECW in his own image".
This whole thing has been a long overdue ego boost for McMahon, and it's time to end it.
Something tells me Sci-Fi would be much better served with "Stargate SG-1" reruns in it's place.
