I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone Peace, Health and Prosperity for 2008. It’s been a great run and I appreciate all the kind words and support The Dead Zone fans have given me over the last 6 years. My partners Michael Piller, Shawn Piller, Lloyd Segan and I thank you for your support and viewership. I also want to say it was a pleasure to work with Nicole, Chris, John, Sean and David and the whole Dead Zone crew both in Vancouver and Montreal.

The past year has been the best year of my career too date. I began the year by filming a cameo in an episode of Entourage then we began filming in Montreal for the sixth and final season moving from Vancouver which had been our home for the previous 5 years.

My father and I started a production company, Manhattan Film and Television Company. Watch what my father and I do from here on out!!

I was offered a role in the much talked about new Batman movie, The Dark Knight, coming this summer. It was great working with Christian Bale and the rest of the cast, Gary Oldman, Heath Ledger, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine. The filming brought me back to Chicago before heading to London, England.

Again, I want to "Thank" everyone, it's been great!

Thanks for posting!

Finally someone says something!!! Thanks to Michael for finally giving us some official word about DZ. Congrats on the new production company! And it goes without saying that we will miss you terribly on the small screen. My summer tv viewing will be sadly lacking in quality now... sad.gif

Best wishes always to Michael and our wonderful DZ cast and crew! smile.gif Boooooooooo to USA Network for their continual slap in the face to long time fans! I'm still boycotting!

I wish the best for AMH. He is a great actor. Does this mean no matter what we do the dz is finally over? No more hope?

Well from what I understand from his message, yes it is over.

I wish Michael all the best for the future and I'm excited to see what he will do next, and I wish him loads of succes making his dream of becoming a filmmaker come true. I will continue to support him as fan, and also of course with my fanpage.

So am I to understand that this is the first "official" announcement anybody has heard about the fate of The Dead Zone? I was surprised to get this message through MySpace as well.

I haven't been active on this board for quite some time now, but I was a fan of this show from day 1... I joined the forum when it looked more like this:

I felt the DZ's quality has decreased over the years, and so I've only watched up through season 5, which I wasn't impressed with (I absolutely hate when a show loses main characters), but I was waiting to see how far this show could go, and then I was going to catch up once a finale had been written, because I'd still like to see where this incarnation of Johnny Smith winds up. But now it sounds like that's not going to happen... and the network once again is mum?

Michael certainly seems to think the show is over, and who would know better than the star? WHY is there not an announcement on this website!? I know everybody here feels the same way - we all want an actual wrap-up to the show - but it sounds like just another case of bad planning and TPTB not giving a crap, and us fans are going to wind up with nothing. How many shows does this have to happen to? It's ridiculous.

That said, obviously it's not Michael's fault, and I'm grateful for the letter he wrote. At least somebody bothered to inform us. Thanks to him for the awesome job he's done as everybody's favorite psychic. And I wish him the best of luck in future endeavors. It's a long shot, but hopefully a made-for-tv movie will be written sometime soon to bring closure to the story. I just hope that if it is, it's a good one (The Pretender movies, anyone?).

Thank you for posting this. It was nice of Michael to say something to this fans. I will look forward to his new work and especially his mystery Dark Knight role.

I don't think he is saying it is over. From the sound of it it sounds like more of a 'if it is over then it has been a great run' sort of thing. I mean most of the stuff he says is just about what he's been doing recently, I'm sure if it was 100% dead and no one else was in consideration to pick it up then we would've heard more on his thoughts about TDZ instead of the minor thanks he gave to the crew.

I wish I could be that hopeful but the phrase Michael uses, "It's been a great run", sound awfully definitive. He thanked everyone, etc. The standard "fare thee well" speech.

I agree with your brattytxn.

A garbled, meandering public statement that was probably hacked out by some publicist who'd been given a shopping list of sentiments.

Anyway. He refers to the "sixth and final season", so that seems to be it. The denouement came clearly signposted. The finale has passed. Lights on! Curtains up! Cry author, author all you want... no one's coming back on stage.

Now go mail that to the USA Network who decided to end the show. It's no use in directing this at Anthony Michael Hall. Anthony Michael Hall does not run USA Network, nor does he own the rights to The Dead Zone. So you can yell all you want, but you're yelling at the wrong person. (Just for your information...writing in all caps is considered yelling on the Internet, in case you don't know that.
