Joss Whedon does.

QUOTE
In a recent interview with GeeksOn podcast, Josh Whedon, creator of TV's "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" & "Firefly", revealed that he finds the 80's movie starring Anthony Michael Hall, offensive.

I hate Weird Science not a little. I find it offensive. The boy fantasy of building a girl. Obviously, we were doing the nasty version of it, because I find it grotesque.
In "I was made to love you", a episode from Buffy's fifth season, Warren Meers, a guert character, made a robot to be his girlfriend.

More over at io9.com, where Whedon talks about his upcoming project and his X-Men comic book series.

I would disagree. I thought it was a good movie.

i love that movie cool.gif

I'm afraid I must agree on that. That movie had a terrible scenario and even some lame scenes, and if Mike wasn't in it, I wouldn't watch it at all.... more than first few minutes.

But I cannot help myself, I must watch every movie that he is in. And he was the best actor in that movie, all others were just overacting and trying too much!

I don't find the movie offensive just a slight bit 'weird' like the title. When I first started watching the DZ I couldn't believe AMH was that same geeky kid in 'Weird Science'. He grew up well. wink.gif

It's good to see a geek grow mature. AMH contributed a lot to the 80s. "16 Candles", "The Breakfast Club" and of course, "Weird Science" with it's classic song by Oingo Boingo.

I wonder if AMH and the lead singer from Oingo Boingo met and hung out? After all, they both had red hair.

Oh - and when this post is reported by Bubba I'd like to say my violation of wholesomeness was really a crypto fascist metaphor for nuclear war.

[/quote] Weird Science was a typical and classic 80's movie. I still enjoy it today.

OMG!! Weird Science was and is a CLASSIC!! My teenage kids love it! '80's at it's funniest.

No.

Offensive is definitely NOT a word I would use to describe this movie. Goofy and weird, maybe, but I still loved it.

I find it odd that Joss Whedon thinks this....normally I love Joss, but this makes no sense to me....
