This show, the 4400, and Burn Notice is why I watch USA. When these shows are gone, so are we...with our exposure to commericals and buying propensity...and I will let the companies know.
Marketing rules of thumb are that for every letter there are 1,000 more out there who share the view but don't write.
Michael Pillar's dead was sad...but Anthony Michael Hall is doing a great job as Producer/Actor. Let him end the story arc for the fans.

I joined this forum so that I could add my name to the petition. Based on NBC's past actions actions with other series on other networks, I have to say (and hate to say) that I don't expect it to help revive the series. I, like you, hope for a TV movie that ties up the loose ends.
NBC used to care about and nurture quality programming, but now all they look at is whether the show is a big hit out of the gate. And, unfortunately there's a much bigger audience for sensationalist, dumbed-down, and cheaper-to-produce shows than there is for intelligent but more expensive programming. Why else would they air garbage like wrestling on both USA and the Sci-Fi Channel?
Bottom line is, in their mind "Smart Doesn't Sell"

Don't forget all the trashy reality shows out there. All I can say is thank god Fear Factor was cancelled.
The Dead Zone, and The 4400, while not always but most of the time, like Star Trek, made you think of the bigger picture. The reality garbage out there doesn't.

I agree with you Scanman. I am so sick of all these reality shows. Half of them are stupid or don't make any sense and is just a waste of airtime which could be used for good, quality shows such as The Dead Zone and The 4400. It is shows like these that don't rot the mind like the trashy reality shows coming on these days. USA AND NBC BRING BACK THE DEAD ZONE OR AT LEAST GIVE US A MOVIE TO FINISH IT OFF!

If they can't get it moved to another network then I think that USA should at least give it a TV miniseries. My only fear in a TV movie is that it could be rushed. A mini series of like 5 episodes would be perfect. I mean season 2 was long and then seasons 3-5 were good even though they were shorter. Cutting the season down more couldn't do anything to hurt. Just don't have the individual episodes and make all of them about the Stillson-Smith Armageddon arc.

Good afternoon everyone. I found two sites that was referred to me from another forum. You can actually go and vote for DZ. The sites are savemyshow and tvvote. On savemyshow, just look under the network for the title of the show click and vote. For tvvote, you will more than likely have to click for link for add show to top 40 and type in the title of the show and click to vote. If I am not mistaken, you can vote every 60min. Thought this might be another way we can save DZ.

I truly hope that USA decides to keep the DeadZone going. I really enjoy this show and it is the main reason I watch this network. I am starting to like Psych and Monk however, they were just an after thought. The DeadZone was what drew me to this network in the first place. I sincerely hope that the people in charge of making the decisions on the cancellation of shows would reconsider taking this show off the air. The DeadZone is a great show.

YES! I got hooked on Dead Zone a couple of years ago and have just loved the show. Got hooked on Journeyman for the same reason...great fantasy about making things right. You ended each show feeling good about life and humanity again. Way better than so-called reality shows with the endless parade of stupidity. What happened, did they call in all the old Jerry Springer fans to populate the reality shows? I don't care what's in your closet, whether you can scheme and manipulate your co-stars into losing their place, or who wins the modeling or cooking or whatever contest. Those shows are only for the catatonic. Dead Zone made you think, made you care about life.

Just wanted to add my name to the list to save Dead Zone. Since it came on I have watched religiously with my son. Any time you can find something that you can share with your son it is a good thing and this was one. There are too many bad series on TV and it is so insensitive that a network that youreally enjoy the programmin on leaves you in the lurch wondering what is going on. I religiously watch Monk and Psyche, watched Dead Zone when it was on and can't wait for Burn Notice to return. Don't dissapoint, bring back Dead Zone.

Yeah, just like the music industry, they want a smashing success immediately. I believe smart shows could do better if given the time to actually organically build an audience. look at arrested development.... it got canned but now there's so much demand that they're making a major movie about it. Sometimes it just takes a little time for things to catch on.

I am extremely disappointed that this series is on the chopping block as well as 4400. These two shows are the only reason that I watch the USA network. It is pretty sad when a "big broadcasting company" has no problem with cancelling a show that has been successfull for many seasons to put on another show that might suck! I completely understand the fact some shows run their coarse and need to be taken off the air, but this is not one of those shows. This network owes it to the fans to give us another season and allow the characters that we have been compelled to watch for many season or for the whole series have a certain resolution.

With all of the TV shows out today, most of which are garbage in my opinion, why would any network want to cancel one of the best series playing? What does the BIG BRASS at USA Network think, that we will watch the other second rate shows they are playing? When The Dead Zone ends, so does my interrest in USA Network.
With all the potential for more storylines in a series like this, why is it so difficult to comprehend that you have a good thing going and should for many years to come? If it's your writers who are finding it difficult to come up with ideas, maybe its time for some new meat with fresh ideas and concepts! That can also be said for executives who don't know a good thing when they already have it.
Look at Showtime's decision to cancel the series Stargate SG1 in its second season. The Sci Fi Channel picked it up and ran it for another 8 seasons while still producing TV movies from it, as it still had the potential to keep going, and is still running Stargate Atlantis into its 5th season with plenty of years of potential.
The dumbed down viewer may prefer Reality TV, and that may be big business for the shorter term, but with loyal viewers who actually care about what they're watching, the mistake would be to give up many years of the loyal viewing we will continue to provide as long as the loyalty is reciprocal.
Keep The Dead Zone Going!

I agree. There was so many unanswered questions at the end of The Dead Zone. I would really like to see it go for another season or two or more. If makes me mad that there is nothing else to watch on TV except Reality Crap. I hate every reality show ever made. Can't anyone write a good script for a good show anymore?

I only watched USA for a handful of shows:
1) Dead Zone
2) The 4400
3) Monk
4) Psych
With two of those shows gone, I really don't have too much inclination to stick with USA. I used to think USA produced some of the top quality shows out there, but unfortunately, they seem to be getting it all wrong lately. Why not at least wrap up the shows they cancel for all the faithful fans out there who watched those shows religiously? I thought they were going to be different than the network televisions out there cancelling shows left and right without warning and without wrap up, or without ending with some lame series finale, but I was wrong. :-(
I tried watching Burn Notice... not my thing. In fact, none of the shows they've introduced lately even come close to being interesting to me. If they cancel either Monk or Psych, I think I will be finished with USA for good. FX is starting to look mighty interesting lately...

I agree with sadgirl 100% on everything. Especially if they cancel Monk then i will take Usa network off of my TV programming list so that i won't even accidentally give them my ratings.
I think that television networks should have to ask viewers opinions via poll or something before they cancel any shows. If they did that, i know The Dead Zone would still be on the air for a few more years.
