Hi, I was just wondering if anyone here knows/has any rumors/idea if Psych will be released into high definition media. I know some people "don't care" about HD, etc., etc., but it really does make a difference to me (details provided for the curious on request; I figured it would be too long to explain in first post).

I really do want to buy Psych Season 1, but DVD quality is highly not preferred. Also of interest is the current "format war" that is taking place between Blu-ray and HD-DVD. As of roughly a week ago, Blu-ray seems to be the inevitable winner even though NBC-Universal (USA's owners) supports HD-DVD. If anyone happens to magically have info on Psych re-release to HD (and timeframe for such!) would you like to grace us with knowledge about NBC-Universal's plans for HD content? Although that is probably too much to ask--I know that info is hard to come by and the company regards its strategy as a closely guarded secret.

Anyway, all information welcome. In lieu of information on this specific topic, sub-topic: Psych in HD - emphatic yes or yes?

If they do make Psych dvds in HD, I hope they make it Blu-Ray disk. I also read that HD DVD will be beat out by it, and eventually so will normal dvds.

Yes, BlueRay discs are cornering the hd market with 80% of all movie companys, (excluding Paramount and Universal as well as a few others) switching to or supporting blue-ray media. Warner bros switched at the middle of last year. If and when Universal switches...I see no reason why it wouldn't be rereleased in BRHD.

I doubt it is going to happen anytime soon though...it is evident that stardard dvd and dvd players are still widely requested from retail stores and consumers. dvds are just cheaper, and that's what the majority of consumers want.
